I'm one of those people that was influenced by you using an Artisan Raiden, and it was always in the back of my mind ever since that Redbull event. I had the same complaints about regular cloth pads becoming muddy and slow over time and was insanely tired of having to clean my mousepad every few weeks/months. The last one I tried was the LGG Saturn Pro Soft, and its a great pad, but it has the same issue muddying over time. After that, I decided I wanted to try a glass pad for the durability and consistency aspect and went with the GLSSWRKS Kazemi. The issue with the Kazemi is really my own fault with using the Xraypad Obsidian Pro Airs. They are just way too controlled, and having to use dot skates on a mouse that doesn't have a super wide base causes the mouse to tip over a lot and becomes very distracting. It basically required me to use 8 dots minimum on the mouse I was using, and it just didn't work out. Also, my skin specifically just didn't gel with the surface and had sticking issues that became frustrating. I bought a sleeve, but the type of sleeve I bought I didn't end up liking. So I stopped using it. I decided I wanted to try a faster cloth pad, and remembered the Artisan Raiden Mid and all of the praise it got. I was worried about it being too fast for me, but then again its a cloth pad so technically it should slow down over time and it would probably become much more manageable shortly after anyways (at least that's what my plan was as well). I actually received it yesterday and it's my first Artisan mouse pad I have used before. I can give my initial thoughts on it so far: First thing, its definitely fast, but I can still somewhat control it with normal PTFE skates on the Vaxee x Sora 4k default skates just fine. The initial friction is very low, actually even lower than what my glass experience was like, because of the dot skates I was using. You can still feel the tiny tug when changing directions though, so there's still a hint of stopping power which is great. The surface is INSANELY smooth to the touch feeling. Being able to get this smooth and fast of a glide while having zero skin sticking issues is such a wonderful thing to be able to experience. Its basically like being able to use a glass pad without a sleeve and it being more comfortable as well and not having all the downsides of glass. The base material sadly doesn't stick that great to my desk. My Saturn Pro Soft definitely had that "peel" factor when its been on the desk for a while. This Raiden can easily be pushed around and doesn't stick like that. I'm not sure if this is because its the mid version and not the soft version, but I swear that Artisan was known to have a very "sticky" base. I could be wrong though. Considering that I can still use this pad as effectively as I am now, it's only going to become even more "usable" over-time. And because it starts out so fast, its never going to slow down so much to the point it becomes an annoyance I don't think. I'm very happy honestly with my purchase, and actually excited to use it and game with. I can see why it has the reputation it does and why you enjoy it so much as well. Definitely a W from Artisan
I prefer glass, more specifically (Purple Empress from Padsmith) the Raiden mid was my second favorite cloth pad. My first being Yuki Aim pad 2023-2024 drops. Yuki felt slightly better for me, but Raiden no question had better durability. Loved both of those pads. I’d say Padsmith’s Purple Empress would be the “glass” version of Raiden/Yuki (cloth) pads. I never did try Yuki’s glass pad, because I’ve been 100% satisfied with my purple empress.
Matty is the true Raiden. I’ve been into mousepads recently and figured out there must be better Raiden, possibly Esptiger Chuan Yun Black. It should feel even more silky, the owner of it claims Raiden is slightly nylony feeling.
hey matty how do you clean your raiden? do you do the spray with disinfectant and wipe with a microfibre cloth or do you wash it in the bath tub with soap?
Not only is the Raiden one of the best fps mouse pads created. It won’t hide mouse control inconsistencies that a control pad would hide. It exposes aimers with shaky aim and it will help aimers dial in mouse control because there is nothing helping you.
i prefer muddier pads, but i have tried glass and a raiden soft. I cant see why anyone should use glass when the raiden exists. you get most of the benefits with none of the downsides
I've used artisan zero, hien, otsu, raiden, skypad in my time, raiden has Been my most recent buy (I'm around grandmaster in the voltaic benchmarks and for the valorant benches most of my scores are elysian. If you train with it its not too fast, it's completely dependent on how much time you want to put In and your preference of speed.
is mid better? havnt tested a mid artisan but didnt really liked xsoft and have u tried the soft one? I believe it release not too long ago, nice review btw will look into gettin one
You didn't mention anything about the difference between the FX and the Classic versions you seem to have. Are they basically the same, except the stitching difference of course?
Hey does your Raiden MID slide around on your desk? Because I just got mine and it slightly moves around or is this just because I haven't broken it in yet? Also what material is your of desk made of?
Using the infinitymice speed v2 mid it feels like a better raiden to me. Surface is just as it is supposed to be but unlike the raiden, MY PAD STICKS ON MY DESK
Im pretty sure that an update to the raiden is coming next year, so ill wait for that and then get a raiden mid, till then ill keep playing on my yume and soon to come kanami minami
Sorry Matty, but I just can’t trust this review. Only 2K hours on a mousepad? Smh. I prefer my reviewers to test something for like 5 hours and nothing more 😤 Nah but fr this is awesome
I have to agree while I am obviously no where near as good as you I have gotten to like glass its just kinda fun for me but if I wanted to use cloth raiden is easily the best ive used
If you're not using a sleeve it gets warm and sticky after 20min of play. There are more pleasant to the touch surfaces. You have to clean it more often than anything else (every few days) because of the tight weave, it collects grime like no other. I tried Raiden long ago and still own it but never bought into the hype it once had, tried to give it a fair shot many times, just ain't for me. To be fair, with your grind i don't think you'd be "worse" if you didn't use raiden/gpx. Sounds like a mental roadblock and nothing else. Like "lucky shorts" in football, you are not going to lose your skill just because of different tools (or a pair of dirty shorts). 🤷♂
Maybe for the next review you'll manage to unmirror the handcam :) Also, do you ever properly wash the pads, as in with soap in the bathtub, or do you exclusively wipe them down with a wet cloth as mentioned in another comment?
Too early to jump to conclusions imo, I'd wait for 10k hours minimum. That's when the Raiden evolves into pure aim gloop, automatically sticking your mouse to targets
Could be just your instance or the environment you're in. Make sure it's not incredibly humid or your hands are not too sweaty. If not, you probably just prefer glass and should get a Skypad :D

Love the kingdom hearts music at 2:50
The best aimer in the world telling you which mousepad to buy and 99% of gamers will never know about it
It's my first artisan and first quality pad, for now around a week of usage i'm satissfied it's extremely quality product, i'll update in few months
Got myself one after your Donk tweet, I'm really excited to try it out
Finally dropped the vid let’s go

Thank you for the review! I've been getting into glass mouse pads recently and really love the kazemi.
thank you for such a review, you explained everything incredibly beautifully 🖤

GOAT player 🤝 GOAT mousepad
What mouse skates do you recommend for raiden?
Thanks Mr.McRae
W VIDEO QUALITY KEEP IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!
aim tea is back. lezgoooo
Review Hien please
hey matty how do you clean your raiden? do you do the spray with disinfectant and wipe with a microfibre cloth or do you wash it in the bath tub with soap?
When you say “lightly cleaned” what do you mean by that? cause properly cleaning these pads is a huge pain for me
Wiped down gently with wet cloth or dry clean with horse hair brush
Not only is the Raiden one of the best fps mouse pads created. It won’t hide mouse control inconsistencies that a control pad would hide. It exposes aimers with shaky aim and it will help aimers dial in mouse control because there is nothing helping you.
DADDYOW MY GOAT!

Hey matty im a valorant player , do you think this mousepad is too fast ? Should I get a mousepad with better control ? What is your reccomendation ?
It's not too fast for TacFPS, but that's up to your preferences and mouse control.
I've used artisan zero, hien, otsu, raiden, skypad in my time, raiden has Been my most recent buy (I'm around grandmaster in the voltaic benchmarks and for the valorant benches most of my scores are elysian. Have you ever tried the Lethal Gaming Gear Neptune Pro? curious to see your thoughts as a Raiden main
is mid better? havnt tested a mid artisan but didnt really liked xsoft and have u tried the soft one? I believe it release not too long ago, nice review btw will look into gettin one
@@ipanque If you want comfort go for Soft. 3 mm strains wrist.
What is the durability of the jade dots on the artisan raiden mid?
How long it last, do you change them after 2-3 months or more frequently?
@MattyOW
You didn't mention anything about the difference between the FX and the Classic versions you seem to have.
Are they basically the same, except the stitching difference of course?
freaky ow is BACK

How do you maintain your mousepad?
Have you tried training shoulders for aim training? I always break my tracking records after shoulder day
Thanks Matt.
What mouse skates do you prefer most of the time?
Out of curiousity have you tried the soft raiden?
The time has come
Sorry Matty, but I just can’t trust this review. Only 2K hours on a mousepad? Smh. I prefer my reviewers to test something for like 5 hours and nothing more 😤
Nah but fr this is awesome
Funny
can you make a raiden mid maintenance/ care guide?
I have to agree while I am obviously no where near as good as you I have gotten to like glass its just kinda fun for me but if I wanted to use cloth raiden is easily the best ive used
have you tried the neptune by lgg?

Ur welcome mattyow!
What skates so you recomend for Superlight 2
How long do you think you can keep playing on a radien for?
you think you can main this for tac fps or is this overdoing things in terms of speed?
Been wanting to get one for AGES now and I just can’t seem to have any luck, they’re always out of stock 😭
my fault g, I need 7 more lolol
after using the skypad 4 i cant play tracking on the raiden anymore
Code matty or aimgod 🤔 0:54
Should be MATTY, "AIMGOD" is the older code.
it's matty, i tried to put aimgod and it doesn't work
did you tried the key83?
Would've got the raiden but literally every single one is sold out so I just got the zero and hien.
How much different is mid vs xsoft
So u not gonna talk about the op1-8k
Thanks Matt Yow
I just cant switch back from glass
2:09 do u use this skate layout on every gpx?
yes
Is this FX or Classic?
Yeah I want to know if it's the classic or fx raisen
FX
try the key 83 and let us know
what mouse grip plz someone tell me
How would you lightly clean it?
From my experiences all my Artisan Pads are pretty easy to clean with lukewarm water and a bit of dish soap
Too early to jump to conclusions imo, I'd wait for 10k hours minimum. That's when the Raiden evolves into pure aim gloop, automatically sticking your mouse to targets
idk if it was j my copy but mine felt super muddy and slow:/
Could be just your instance or the environment you're in. Make sure it's not incredibly humid or your hands are not too sweaty. If not, you probably just prefer glass and should get a Skypad :D
do you recommend for tac fps ?
I tried high speed pads, it’s totally fine for tac fps. Comfort is highly important, higher friction doesn’t make you better.
My raiden feels muddy.
man i just got the zero mid...
the truth is that steel series qck is still the best mousepad for fps games and its not even close
Would you recommend the raiden for slower/tac shooters (Valo, CS, ...)?
I got the Raiden because it has the same name as me lol. I guess i got super lucky X3
You using an OP1 8K in the beginning is VERY worrying
Why.
@IrrationalDelusion It's Matty
Send one of those pads my way lol
