Really hard to choose between the two, both do well in camera performance
I love the build quality and flat display of the Xiaomi though
After watching this and just about every other video about both phones I think what it comes down to for me is actually software. If I get the Xiaomi 14 Pro I can unlock bootloader and there is a choice of roms, probably custom roms in the future. Vivo you have no chance at all. You are stuck with whatever they give you.
Xiaomi are not being as forthcoming as they have in the past with bootloader unlock, but many people have already found a way for this device and are already running EU rom. That's worth a lot to me. I choose to support manufacturers who support the development community.
@@bandario It's a shame how much harder Xiaomi got the unlocking process from Xiaomi 14 series onwards though... I miss the times when I could unlock my MotoG whenever I wanted and install whatever. Then with Xiaomi you started having to wait weeks for it. And now... You straight up have to find shady paid services to get it done. Besides that, of course, I've been pretty happy with my Xiaomi 14!
You did forget that Xiaomi is launching hyper OS wich makes it even harder to unlock the bootloader. Also the community for Roms on the flagship is shrinking from year to year!
I disagree on zoom score, Vivo x100 pro in my hand got better zoom than s23 ultra, considering s23 ultra score in that category, Vivo x100 pro should have got more scores and beat Huawei.
We will see if it will get more points when comparing with the Mate 60 Pro. I think the only disappointment I had was with portraits. But let's see. This was the first comparison. It usually adjust its scores after 2 or 3 comparisons to the final score

@@lltechview Totally agree, I expected much more from The king of portrait but tuned out to be a bit disappointment. But I have got a firmware update on my vivo x100 pro Chinese rom 2-3 days ago saying there is a fix on portrait mode, I have updated but have not tested portrait mode yet since my wife and kids are not around at the moment, I will have to wait for them to come back so I will be able to test it out.

I watched Ben's gadgets review and his potrait shots looked awesome.
Xiaomi is on a different path, nowadays all smart phones oversharpen their pictures. I think Xiaomi is trying to find the balance between details and not over sharpening thing. I think this should be the path to pursue for the phone camera evolution. I really wish Xiaomi could put a higher zoom lens on the 14Pro, its nearly prefect.

I'm still on 8min mark, but upon watching other reviews, Vivo X100 Pro performs better thatn Xiaomi 14 Pro in Video, mic, stabilization. But your scenario is unique, rainy, gloomy weather. It's interesting to see that in that particular scenario, Vivo lags behind. Maybe try to replicate the result with a similar scenario and then to other scenario like harsh daylight, soft day time, and night?
but still photos is really the where Vivo is better.
most comparison, you like Xiaomi better, were I like Vivo better. So I guess it's preference.
But I agree with the scores. selfie is better in Xiaomi, main camera better in Vivo.

Watching on my 14 pro :p i think you did on chalenging day which is good since thats when a camera really tells what it can do. Good video overall :) keep it up. Just a point when reviewing video playbacks on PC i thinks it degrades quality as codecs on pc just dont show the details. Best to take a screenshots of video playback from VLC or something.

I'm not sure if at 17:20 we have telephotocamera on vivo x100 pro. Real focal length is 8,7 mm so it is identical as mian camera. Also if tele camera has 50MP at 100mm we would get about 70MP at 85mm, but that is more than thats sensor has.
I buyed xiaomi 14 few day ago. Now I am waiting
14 is cheaper then x100pro and quality ia almost the same
But I think will be updates

I think the X100 Pro is already very very good. The Pro+ or Ultimate will take still a while to be released but I expect it to be even better.

I really like the x100pro, I also would take it without the B20. But I don't know if it's worth to wait for Ultrasonic fingerprint and sd8gen3 and maybe better camera... 😭

Nice. Could you elaborate on the external microphone you say you use on the x100 Pro? Can you use the socket for audio monitoring and playback? If done right this can improve audio capture and voice quality dramatically.
I used an external recorder for audio. But you can also use usb-c mics or wireless receiver/trabsmitter combos.

Thanks. I was hoping we (the Users) can now or in time get an in/out 3.5 mm audio jack which is sturdy and convenient for recording/transmitting voice input as well as monitoring/listening to audio/voice output. Kinda all-in-one audio jack.

There is no plan currently to get the OnePlus 12 or Iqoo 12 Pro.

Hi, I am thinking about getting the Vivo X100 pro too, but I don't think it will be available in Belgium here. So about the OS, does it support multi language, such as Dutch? Great video btw, as always.👍
Yes the chinese variant supports multi languages including dutch.
Can't get to wallet to work is the only downside

Good comparison color saturation contrast ratio and ois is important which one do you feel better

In the ranking the xiaomi 14 has a better score than the xiaomi 14 pro. One has a fixed sensor the other with variable optics.

You wsnt to stay in a similar ecosystem and have Google Services then Magic 5 Pro or the brand new Magic 6 Pro that will come soon. Ktherwise the newer Huaweis offer really good cameras still.
Oppo and Vivo as well as Xiaomi's flagship are also top notch. My hidden gem would be the Nubia Z60 Ultra

I'm also thinking which one I should buy and I'm still undecided. What would you say is the best overall smartphone with a good camera? I watched many reviews and I'm still undecided. It seems to me that Oppo is a more quality smartphone than Vivo x100 Pro. I'm not really playing any demanding games and the performance difference during normal usage is negligible. The main camera is similar, Oppo's ultra wide camera is better than Vivo's, zoom camera is also pretty good with the Oppo and in terms of video recording and mics the Oppo Find X6 Pro seems to be better, too. Some reviews say that Oppo Find X6 Pro has autofocus issues, ist it true?
Never had autofocus issues with he Find X6 Pro. The Find X6 Pro feels more premium than the X100 Pro for sure. Camera wise the X100 Pro has some advantages. But I really like the Find X6 Pro's 3 large sensors and the better portrait capabilites with it. I would rather take the Find X6 Pro
What about shutter speed in vivo x100 pro? Is there the best photo smartphone with ability to shot fast moving objects?
Vivo should be good for this if you enable the motion autofocus and choose the snapshot mode
Its about the rolling shutter not about the shutter speed.
Why doesn't Xiaomi put a periscope camera on their Pro series?
4.3x is far ,, if you do comparison shots from 1.1x to 4x ,, this cropping will hit vivo hard till it switch to its telephoto ....
i have the x90 pro+ and even if it has just 3.5x periscope it spits very good 10x pictures as well, considering the main cam has a more HQ sensor than periscope i'm fairly sure it can look good up to 3x at least, and keep in mind this is not the pro plus version
Any updates since to improve the Xiaomi?
Two new stability updates arrived. I do not see any improvements in terms of cameras. However I started an official bug report with Xiaomi about the mic issue and hopefully this can be resolved with a future update

Does the vivo x100 pro's battery last long?
Its comparable to other flagships. So the battery might be larger bht I don't notice a massive improvement in terms of battery
In this case I think it's hard to say. Vivo got 5400 mah with m9300 soc, 14 Pro got nearly 4800mah with sd8gen3.
I guess they would have nearly the same Screen on time.
Maybe things change with the x100 pro+ wich will also have the sd8gen3

Have you tried connecting a smartwatch to the X100? Ive Read other reviewers saying it's a problem for some strange reason. And another deal breaker if it possible to install a third party launcher. Trading writes:alternative launcher (Vivo Account needed).
Smartwatch I did not test yet. Does it need to be a specific one like Google Wear one?
As for the launcher yeah you need a vivo account to enable the feature of applying a third party launcher

You have missed some settings in the vivo beauty face department or forgot to uncheck the stain remover from the overall camera setting menu. It's way soft.

Yes but in each camera setting (photo, portrait, professional, etc) you have to set them off and then there is the main camera menu.
The menu setup of this camera is not very helpful

Dear brother i need a suggestion..my oppo find x6 pro overheats a lot during taking photos consistently..almost reaches 50 degree..it cant even finish 3dmark stress test reaching 23 degree to 54 degree..so i want to change it for vivo x100 pro..is it worth the change considering the overall camera and performance of x100 pro? If you wouldn't have the overheating issues I would say stay with the Find X6 Pro. Changes are almost non noticeable

See my ranking list. Best camera for what? Portraits? Then maybe the Xiaomi 13 Ultra or Oppo Find X6 Pro. Best overall camera then the Mate 60 Pro or Vivo X100 Pro

Android 14 Upgrade did improve the telezoom camera and it needs reevaluation like I stated in another video. I hope to do it still this year

I watched the video halfway through. From what I understand the vivo hardware is superior but the software does things that don't make you prefer vivo, on colors etc.. Always something missing on one side and the other.
There are some thibgs that vivo will fix for sure. Mainly video and portrait shots is what I am complaining about.

That's because a good photograph is not always about sharpness lack of noise. The X100 is amazing, but it sharpens the hell out of stuff and doesn't look natural. I don't think xiaomi 14 is an improvement over the 13 pro, if anything it's a step back
The only thing I don’t like about Vivo is its curved display. It looks outdated. Flat display is really good to look at and to use in 2023 IMO.
Thank you, I give you a like. Other UA-camrs show the cameras of these phones as incredible. Perhaps the vivo's night mode and telephoto stand out. But even in 2023 they do not represent a great advance. Nor do these phones represent the price paid for them.
