ನನ್ನ ಮಲಯಾಳಂನಂತೆಯೇ ನನ್ನ ಕನ್ನಡವೂ ನನ್ನದೇ. ಈ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಹಾಡು ನನಗೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಇಷ್ಟವಾಯಿತು.

I'm from a Marathi speaking Brahmana family from Kasaragode in Kerala. Kannada and Brahman Tulu are our defacto mother languages. But since I was born and brought up in Pune, I don't speak Kannada anymore, but can understand the dialect spoken by Brahmins.

Anyways, yes Tulu had a script which was similar to Malayalam. These days you can write Tulu using either the Kannada or Malayalam alphabet.
Similarly Konkani is written in either Devanagari, Roman or Kannada scripts.
