Welcome back to Show Focus, today on the channel we are going to find out Why did Virgin River's Alexandra Breckenridge leave The Walking Dead role? + other related news. Virgin River continues to be a huge hit on Netflix and Alexandra Breckenridge has left fans in awe as Mel Monroe. The series has grown from strength to strength with season five already in the making. Alexandra has a whole host of major TV credits to her name, including the long-running series, The Walking Dead.
Why did Alexandra Breckenridge leave The Walking Dead? One of the saddest departures in The Walking Dead was that of Jessie Anderson (Alexandra Breckenridge) who watched her son get killed by zombies. She then got killed by zombies herself in what marked one of the show's most tragic moments. Alexandra opened up about how she found out her character would get killed off and why she was so sad to leave. She did not know when she first got the job that Jessie would eventually meet her demise. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, she found out she would be leaving the show when she started filming season six. She said: "I think he was just giving me the heads up so I didn’t unnecessarily plant myself in Atlanta, like get a long-term rental. "He was just trying to be nice and give me the heads up, but I was super sad." Alexandra was looking into apartments in Atlanta when she was told by showrunner Scott Gimple she would be leaving the show. Meanwhile, characters who disappeared from 'The Walking Dead' who we want to see show up again on the final episodes. Before Rachel, Cyndie was the leader of Oceanside. Sydney Park's last appearance on the series was season 10, episode eight, which aired on TV in November 2019. The show has never addressed why the actor hasn't appeared again. Well they don’t always follow the comics tho. I liked Jessie and was mad when they killed her. I started to hate the show after she died.
@@davidstratton696 I knew she was going to die eventually, just didn't expect it so soon. I wish she lasted a little longer too maybe like 1 more season. She seemed like her character had potential. But if you think about it it's good that she didn't. Cause then they were gonna have to put a scene where Rick lost another love life. And we all know how that went down with Lori lol
@@edwleo8124 Meh I would’ve been fine with that. And I doubt it would’ve been as bad as with Lori if Jessie only lasted 1 more season. He knew Lori a lot longer and thought he lost his family when he woke up from a coma and found people were turning into zombies and dying and his family wasn’t anywhere to be seen. And yea I would’ve loved to have seen more of Jessie. I was so mad when they killed her off.
@@davidstratton696 This was an iconic event in the comics. No way were they not going to follow it. Just like Glen's death and Rick biting out the claimer's neck with his teeth. Those were iconic and had to be in the show.
@@riko813 Well I don’t follow the comics but they don’t always follow the comics from what I know. I still just hated this. I don’t see this as iconic at all. Just annoying.

I think it's kinda stupid to take a role which is based on a comics and didn't even bother to look it up who are you even playing about.
Alexandra is a total babe. Gimple is the same moron who killed Carl a few seasons later.with no real good reason, and then Madison in "Fear The Walking Dead". Thankfully, Madison was brought back since her "death" was offscreen. I always loved Jesse always thought this was a better couple than Rick and Michonne which always felt a little forced when they went that route. Alexandra is a great actress all the best to her.
Yeah, I didn't care for the love affair between Rick and Michonne, it seemed awkward.

I think she is full of crap. She knew exactly how long her stay was. She begged Gimple to not kill her character but it wasn't going to happen. She was only there to fulfill one role and that was the brutal death scene of her character and her character's family. I'm glad they didn't extend her contract. I loved when Jessie and her family got eaten. That scene was iconic and brilliantly done. Jessie was never supposed to be Rick's long-term lover, she was just there to provide a reason for Rick to kill Pete and to get brutally eaten, that's it.
@@riko813 for me Jessie has more love interest chances with Rick rather than Michonne. But i don't complain about the way the show goes, her entire family dead, it's ok for me. But i still think their relationship is better than with Michonne.
@@megaxind16 How??????? Jesse was married. She knew Rick for a couple of weeks at most. They barely interacted. Rick was more interested in Pete than Jesse. They kissed once in a garage, and it was awkward imo and immediately after the death of her husband. Her kids were weird and had severe mental problems(imagine blending Carl and Judith with Sam and Ron). SMH, That would be a recipe for disaster. Rick was going through PTSD, he wasn't himself. He wasn't in his right mind for a relationship. In addition, most of the time his mind was preoccupied with taking over Alexandria. At most Jesse would have been the rebound girl he would have left to be with the love of his life which is Michonne.
@@riko813 Yeah Rick and Michonne aren't that close too before that. They have been together for several seasons before but not has any chemistry not until Jesse died. It seems forced, i mean the rest of TWD couple are.
@@megaxind16 🤣I don't know how you can say Rick and Michonne weren't close before Jesse died. They were always very close to each other. They had chemistry from day one. He was always checking her out. Looking her up and down. Checking out her butt. They were always together in a tight family unit with his children. He entrusted the emotional and physical wellbeing to the most important people in his life to her which were Carl and Judith. Everywhere they were they lived together, ate together, talked together. He listened to her advice above all the rest of the people in the show. He smiled and laughed more when Michonne was around. She could do things with Rick that others couldn't do. She knocked him out and he totally understood and wasn't angry with her. He offered her the gun he had in ASZ and said she was the only one that could talk him out of what he was planning. They had an extremely close tight bond with each other.
