Thanks for backing and the inspiration.
Made this last night. So yummy. Ended up with the texture of a light cornbeard only way I can describe it. My cake did absorb the syrup but I had none left over on the bottom of the pan.
Hi Ken. I really like your video and how you explain thanks for sharing..I allready suscribe to your channel.
Thank YOU so much!!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Ooooooooooo love it mmmm
Thank you - it worked. I decided to half the amount of sugar lemon liquid - that was my mistake as all the liquid was soaked up immediately and the cake definitely needed more lemon liquid. Thank you. Judith
+Judith Tourlouki 👍🙏🏼✌️
Hi there Ken thanks for this wonderful recipe I have a question, if I have regular flour then I would have to have either baking soda or baking powder or both so how much would I have to add . Thank you again P.S. made all the recipes I have seen , OMG when this pandemic goes if it ever I’m going to Greece lol .
Haha thanks Sylvie!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 To make your own self-rising flour just add 1/2 tsp. salt and 1-1/2 tsp. baking powder per cup of all purpose flour....
Ken Panagopoulos you’re a Greek God sent lol . Merci infiniment !
🙏🏼😂👍💪✌️
Dear Mr. Ken me again - Semolina Flour? I found semolina fine and semolina big. I did not find flour - may I use semolina fine? Thank you. Judith
+Judith Tourlouki Hi me again, LOL Fine semolina is also referred to as semolina flour, so you're good. Good luck and let me know how it turns out for you:-))

Ken, I've alway's heard that the mixing bowl MUST be free of any grease in order for the egg whites to whip properly? This isn't so?
+Charlie Barnes It is indeed. However in this case, the egg whites don't need to be as tight as a merengue so you can get away with the bowl not being totally grease free.
Cheers,
Ken🇨🇦
Thanks! I thought I'd been doing extra work for nothing. Looks great. I'm going to give it a try.
+Charlie Barnes Glad I could help. The trick is not to beat the egg whites too stiff. Otherwise, it's pretty straightforward. Good luck and let me know how it turns out. I'm sure you're gonna love it:-))
I want one of those round pans
They’re really good and all they are is round stainless steel pans x about 2-1/2” deep.
@@KensGreekTable humor me but is yours made in Greece?
Is the Pope catholic??? Of course but I did what most self respecting Greeks do and smuggled it in my suitcase....
i thought the syrup was supposed to be cold?
Thank you for your question. Typically, cold syrups are used with phyllo based desserts like baklava while battered desserts take warm syrups....
@@KensGreekTable thank you Ken. I guess in Turkey they do it like that, and they also use veg oil and yogurt instead of butter and milk. The Greek style which I believe the original one looks better.
Serve with vanilla ice cream and pistachio nuts.
👍❤️💪
3 cups of sugar for the syrup? Why so much
That’s what the recipe calls for….
Y siga cocinando que para eso le pago !
