- Clemson traveled to Louisville for a prime-time ACC matchup that did not disappoint. Running back Wayne Gallman led the Tigers offense with 139 yards on the ground while Heisman contender Deshaun Watson connected on two touchdown passes while throwing for just under 200 yards. The Tigers defense held the Cardinals to just 19 yards rushing and forced two turnovers in the 20-17 win. Clemson improves to 3-0 and has a week off before a pivotal game against Notre Dame.

The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) is a collegiate athletic conference in the United States in which its fifteen member universities compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA's) Division I, with its football teams competing in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), the highest levels for athletic competition in US-based collegiate sports. The ACC sponsors competition in twenty-five sports with many of its member institutions' athletic programs held in high regard nationally. ACC teams and athletes have claimed dozens of national championships in multiple sports throughout the conference's history. Generally, the ACC's top athletes and teams in any particular sport in a given year are considered to be among the top collegiate competitors in the nation. The ACC is considered to be one of the six collegiate power conferences, all of which enjoy extensive media coverage and automatic qualifying for their football champion into the Bowl Championship Series (BCS). With the advent of the College Football Playoff in 2014, the ACC will be one of five conferences with a contractual tie-in to an "access bowl", the successors to the BCS.
Founded in 1953 in Greensboro, North Carolina, by seven universities located in the South Atlantic States, the conference added additional members in late 1953, 1979, 1991, 2004, and 2013. The 2004 and 2013 additions extended the conference's footprint into the Northeast and Midwest. The most recent expansion in 2013 saw the additions of the University of Notre Dame, the University of Pittsburgh, and Syracuse University. In 2012, the University of Maryland's Board of Regents voted to withdraw from the ACC to join the Big Ten Conference. On November 28, 2012, the ACC's Council of Presidents voted unanimously to invite the University of Louisville as a full member, replacing Maryland.

Clemson's defense allowed 29 yard rushing all game (.7 yards per carry) WOW
+Kyle Puckett Ill tell you what. Doing that and needing a missed field goal to win is not a good sign. You can't count on 29 rushing yards against a ND back averaging 150 per game through 4 games.
+ndfaithful's_son Doing that on the road isn't easy, but for sure i get where your coming from and 100% agree. We are going to need our offense to kick it into gear fast.

Wzrdprado Buddy...this is old news. There is a wider and much larger sample size now for evaluating Clemson.

Louisville nearly beat Clemson in 2015 when Clemson was at their peak. I'm sure the Cards remember this well just as they remembered FSU's second-half comeback in 2015. Let's just hope what happened to FSU in 2016 does not happen to Clemson, but it might. Louisville is a greatly improved TEAM this year--and they know how to FINISH.

Defense looks great! Offense is decent, thanks to Gallman, but Deshaun needs some practice before Notre Dame. Special teams needs a hell of a lot of work, though (except the kickers)

Does anyone remember a great block in this game that was close to being a block in the back but was a legal block and didn't get a flag thrown. It may have been on some type of return (punt, kick, interception). I'm trying to find it to compare it to a penalty that was called against Kenny Bell of Nebraska several years ago...search "Kenny Bell block" on you tube.
Yes sir that was on a Louisville toss sweep to the left. Tight end Micky Crum layed the Clemson defender out. It was actually a designed block for the play. The tight end will check the end and then turn playside to crack block the pursuit.

+Austin - i dont blame them, wallace has already been a huge let down this season. he knows he missed that field goal, dont put him on the field in a situation where he can redeem himself and possibly fail again.
They should have spiked it no matter what they were planning to do. That way they could go for the FG or set up a real Hail Mary.

This was a great game and Clemson is a great team but we(Louisville) are paying our defensive coordinator 1 million dollars to coach one side of the ball and our players can't tackle worth shit or cover the center of the field. Also what made it worse was Petrinos clock management. Don't even get ne started. I know most our team are 18 years old but damn. We better make it to a bowl and hopefully Clemson can make it to the playoff to represent the ACC. Anyway go Cards! #L1C4
