    Hi there
Just some input on the Math question.
Notice how Hafu Go asked to make this equation EQUAL. Which means both sides has to result in the same value.
In this case, when the Yale students put the following,
5+5+5+5 (not equal sign) 555, they are actually wrong given the question asks for equal values on both sides.
5+5+5+5 is not the same as 555.
However, if the question asked the students to make the equation TRUE, instead of EQUAL, then yes the solution given is correct.
Strictly and IMO, only one student qualified over that round.
Though great job! I would have never thought of solving it the provided way. Kudos to them for thinking out of the box!

I thought maybe "The Universe" was the time-keeping device with the most moving parts. I think that that answer can maybe be justified. Also, if you consider that light is also a particle, than for a sundial to work requires like a lot lot lot of moving parts to work. Since you need to see light for it to work and there are just 10^lots of photons in even like a square cm of area.

Which number follows the pattern? All of them: 19 and all of them are (partially) wrong, since a definite sequence of N numbers doesn't determine the N+1th number in the sequence. The correct answer would actually be ANY NUMBER. This may seem counter-intuitive, but in order to ascertain the following number, you would need to know the function of the sequence, which doesn't necessarily have to be in terms of y=f(n); n is the element of natural numbers. Nevertheless, without knowing this, you can calculate the following number. And yes, mathematically speaking, all IQ tests that involve these questions are kind of wrong.

The "≠" sign should not be a possible answer to question 8. The question was clear: add one line to "5+5+5+5" in order for it to equal 555. Drawing one line through the "=" sign correctly shows that 5+5+5+5 does NOT equal 555, but it doesn't make both sides of the equation equivalent; that's the literal definition of the "≠" sign.

Meh, it's more of a riddle than an actual question with a single correct answer, you can define the Earth as a timepiece that gives a period of exactly one day, or you can define the galaxy as a timepiece that gives a period of whatever one rotation of the galaxy takes. I suppose you could also define the whole universe as a timepiece, it boils down to how you define it.

Question #10 answer is actually Sapphire cronos but the simple answer is still hourglass but the actual answer is a sapphire cronos because without the sapphire cronos in the time piece time would inherently freeze or slow down massively but if it's there then time remains normal or you can use it also to speed up time but also speeding up time too can also destroy life on earth. I'm also part of your Go Gang

    Number 10:
My answer was "stars"... it has been a timepiece throughout history and there are billions upon billions of them... An Hourglass can consist of two particles if for example you wanted to time 0,00000000000001 of a second ;)

    • @juuelherza1502

Yep, I was thinking about the same. Like we use the movement of the earth around the sun as a measure of time( a year)… what could stop us from using greater systems ? Then I realized, that answer would make me lose , because I cannot confidently state which motion would be the biggest (with more moving parts).
