What gets me is that there are really good, safe drivers who will go 20-30 mph over the limit on a wide-open, straight expressway with very little traffic -- drivers who never tailgate, never weave in and out of traffic, never cut anybody off -- but they'll get pulled over just for doing 20 over. The crazy thing is..most of these activities could be automated. Problem stop signs could be monitored by cameras. Speed cameras could be installed...etc. Thus allowing troopers to handle major issues, aggressive driving..etcetera.
+Walter crunch The problem with that is third party companies usually administer it and they skim money off the top. Those same companies have been known to alter stop light times and yellow light times in their favor to get more revenue. Corruption has to be stopped before we can deploy these systems nationwide.
+Walter crunch It's because they skim that there's corruption. Instead they should get a flat rate based on the number of deployed units. This flat rate is charged regardless of generated revenue. The city would then be in charge of the settings of the units and it could be voted on by the city council. Letting these companies skim off the top of ticket revenue encourages the corruption. There are very little checks and balances and very little incentive for the police to stop them as they too get increased revenue.
Personally I think it should be our choice to wear a seatbelt. Now when it involves children then the parents should be held accountable but if you're over 18 it should be your personal choice. Also Washington state has some of the slowest speed limits in the country.
You have death wish? Air bags won't deploy if their not buckled. WA state speed limits are in keeping with neighboring states, even CA has a 65 mph limit.

55 mph speed limits on three lanes highways are a crime themselves. Literally no one goes 55 mph, everyone is going 60-70. Its a joke to take advantage of people going the real speed limit. Pull over the people doing 85 and passing in the right lane.
Washington State Police don't need you to violate the law to get stopped or receive a violation. I lived there and their reputation for stopping you for no reason and especially harassing bikers is well known. i couldn't take my bike out on the interstate without being stopped 50% of the time.
Yes and No. Have lived in WA state for decades and been stopped enough times to know Troopers have their reasons for stopping me. You ride a sport or cruiser?
Jake Voss Yes. Driving is always dangerous, at any speed. Traffic laws in general and speed limits in particular are a trade-off our society makes between mobility and safety. The authorized, qualified experts set the speed limits as the standard for relatively safe driving that applies on each road in their jurisdiction. It is our responsibility as civilian drivers to abide by the standards they set.
@@jbm71 How much do you trust the "authorized, qualified experts"? Clearly more than me, but I don't think it's debatable that they are not prefect. Have you ever seen the speed limit changed on a road that you have driven? Why are there different speed limits from state to state on roads with nearly identical conditions? And even these experts disagree on whether to set highway and non-residential road speed limits based on the 85th percentile of the natural speed of traffic or totally arbitrarily. I drive based on the idea that the spirit of laws related to speed limits is to drive at a "reasonable and prudent speed for conditions" which means speed limits are least flexible on residential streets and most flexible on highways with few cars in sight. I'll take the occasional speeding ticket if I come across an officer who disagrees.
what is being done about habutual speeders and agressive drivers in clark county. if i had ticketing authority i could easily write 50 plus tickets a day for unsafe drivers
I ran 90mph back then in Kentucky showing off. I left the crowd far behind me and some state trooper sitting hiding on inner state shot me up close with radar afterwards I slammed on them brakes the trooper looked at me hard but never moved. That’s why Rocky Mountain radar is the best. You can’t catch what you can’t see.
No there’s no quota but how does a department measure the amount of work your doing for promotion? Oh yea the amount of tickets you write and revenue you bring the state.
"there's no quotas" Bullshit. Don't write any fines, give everybody written warnings, see how long it takes for the supervisor to talk to you about it... There are absolutely quotas, every police force has them.
fpstina absolutely not true. Self initiated activity levels are relative to what similar officers are doing. Thats how get an average activity number to base high/average/low numbers
as long it's within the district you're assigned, WSP assigns troopers to districts which has counties inside so you're free to go anywhere within any of those counties, say for example you're assigned to Pierce County District 1, you can patrol District 1 which covers Pierce and other areas but you can't go far because what if a call comes out and you're the only trooper working that area, it would take 4 hours to get back to your county and the call if you're up near Vancouver when you're supposed to be in District 1
Wait isn't marijuana legal in washington. If yes than why is the officer asking if there is any marijuana in the car. He's expecting it to be like illegal so he can bust them.
Virginia State Police have stricter speed enforcement rules I believe. Don't come blowing through Virginia like you own my state. Respect the speed and heed wh signs you read.
Maybe not so much. Most State Troopers wear a distinct uniform that is not all blue. That would be the Local LEO's who do it to save money. The WSP uniform has been around for at least 5 decades. WSP like most State Patrols wear traditional uniforms as way of honoring their past and the Troopers who died wearing it
Not every state has that as a law. My state doesn't specify that the left lane is for passing only, so the police can't do anything if I am in that lane just cruising. It isn't recommended but, it's not law in some areas.
The funny this is and it's not really funny is that the officer stated she was going 70 mph when at the same time that officer pulled out in front of oncoming traffic and was running every bit of 80 or faster to catch her. Now my thing is who was the more dangerous person in this video the cop or the other driver? So a cop see's somebody running 5 maybe 10 miles per hour faster doesn't make it ok for the officer to run that fast to catch up with the other driver. And because of the rate of speed the officer was running and how quick he got up to that speed by law is reckless operation. I always hear Judges say to wrongs don't make a right. Well, what do you call this? And when that officer pulled out in front of that oncoming traffic if he would have caused a wreck I bet you he would have said it was the speeder's fault since he was pursuing her for the actual speeding. I think in this situation the cop was very reckless and very unsafe.
Alway felt 8 over was a guaranteed citation. The speed limit is what is posted, not 10 or 15 MPH over that. Think more folks need to get the opportunity to assist in picking up dead bodies after fatal vehicle accidents. Too many folks have no respect for others or respect for the laws of our country.
The way it's fun for you to "feel like you're taking off in an airplane" is the same way it is for most people who speed too. The seatbelt thing... Yeah ticket that guy, he's an idiot for not wearing it.

Thats what I was doing one night when coming home from work, minding my own business before the crook showed up.. UA-cam "pulled over in bremerton"
@@chaywoo Lmao, should've just followed the law
@@davids.852 I do follow the law, u know, the common sense law. What you are talking about is codes. Codes need to be cracked to reveal the truth. Codes that you kindly refer to as 'law' are not law at all or it would be called law, but its not. Dont forget, there are laws everywhere all over the world, just because something is called law, doesnt mean it applies to you. CODES are powerless leglislative rules that recieve power after consent. Signing a 'DRIVER' license is a trick to consent. Once you sign that 'DRIVER' license, for you, all codes are now law.
@@emmanuelmajekodunmi9148 No that is incorrect. I was worrying about myself until "pulled over in bremerton" happened and I was arrested for not obeying fast enough, no crime, no probable cause, no breach of the peace, case was dismissed, meaning the courts have no case of even the slightest which confirms I was thrown in jail for absolutely nothing.. I filed a tort claim for $20k will see how it goes..
This is like parks and recreation.
i live in washington #washington #beststatetolivein thank you for your service state trooprers and fire department and our local sheriff and swat teams
Now i see the printer that printed my receipt (aka Speeding Ticket).
IT must feel really good giving a guy a ticket when he's on the way home from work trying to see his kids.
it musst feel really bad crashing your car and kill a family on the way home because speeding
Mr. Eurocarturboit omg 5 mph over the speed limit!!!!
You can crash your car without speeding too. Just saying.
Thats a stupid excuse, who crashes for speeding? 30mph can called speeding by the WSP. Just imagine if people remained stupid enough to continue believing that lie you crooks would be out of control, oh you already are.. You are replaying the safety movie to the blind when you say that nonsense. go slap yourself you dirty nasty crook
@@PomitusTV Or not getting home at all
I gotta watch out for this guy

Career change from being a pilot to being a state trooper. Sending in my application in the next few days. Maybe be a pilot for the State Patrol!
Unless you fly VIP's their aircraft fly slow and low
I'd love to play with one of those radars looks like a fun piece of technology
I got my first speeding ticket in over 25 years. Was just cruising along flow of traffic, apparently everyone was speeding.
The cop was very nice and respectful and although he wrote me a ticket the law is the law. I will now be more mindful of my driving. No big deal
Actually if you were going the flow of traffic, you wernt breaking the law. The law states you should go the flow of traffic not necessarily the posted limit.
Jesse Lieberman depends on the state
Yeah, no big deal, only that you insurance company will now jack your rates up. You didn't know the cops work for the insurance companies?
@jal2135 incorrect. The law states that if you’re going slower than the flow of traffic, you are to stay in the right lane
My grandpa was going down the interstate and he had a bad wreck and it was back when it was legal to not wear a seatbelt but if he was wearing a seatbelt he wouldve been dead
the seatbelt didnt save him not wearing it saved him
So what? 9.9999/10 times a seatbelt will save you, just because one time it didn't doesn't mean you should not wear it.
I need help me TorontoPolice suhail Singh
Wow a whole 70 mph on I5. Here a 70 mph ticket would be for obstructing traffic. God I feel safer now.
I find it disheartening that state LE departments, once premiere LE agencies have been relegated to revenue generation units (traffic cops)
To funny. Car goes 62 mph what's his reaction? Go 80mph to catch him. Who's the real danger ?
I guess he should just let him speed of and crash down the road then huh?
I guess your right. Two wrongs do make a right !
SoScaleCustomsRc (PEGCITYRACER) You say that now, would you rather have a speed camera monitoring both lanes of traffic or 1 cop driving erratically.
These are the best cars to buy. WSP orders every option on their cars.
Hi! I have just one question, what camcorder do you use for such movies?
Lot's of authority loving bootlickers in the comment section. The founding fathers would be ashamed.
I like that uniform!
"There's a lot more to our job than just writing speeding tickets".
I'd love to hear him elaborate on that.
Have you ever done a ride along? They do a crap ton. When I've went, we responded to robbery calls, stolen vehicles, homicides, crashes, domestic violence calls, missing children, commercial vehicle inspections, etc, etc
Good thats all they should be doing, leave normal people alone..
Like keeping the local dounut and coffee shop safe...
ok umm let's see, they provide Law Enforcement services to unincorporated areas of the counties they're assigned, umm what else, oh they provide executive security to the governor of Washington State, umm what else, a whole variety list of things that State Troopers do, i don't know about you but i take Trooper work over dealing with jackasses in the city on domestics and fights anyday, but hey that's just me

Why do y’all takes y’all hat off when they get backl
I love the Crown Vics!
Cool video!
pulled over for 70 in a 60 lolololol Cops around here do pull you over on the highway unless your pulling 15-20+ over and 15 is rare
+Daiyousei7 yes..they skim. That's called a fee. Corruption is illegal. You are conflating the two.
Not now..but soon will. Having a cop sit out there and radar is a waste of money. Automate it.
Blows my mind they didn't blur the license plates.
+John Doe Why would they?
+Xeldinn true everybody else is going to see them anyway so
if it doesn't hurt their pocket books...people wont' change. Sometimes a ticket is what it takes for a person to change their behaviour
Makes me wanna join the force.
please don't
Personally I think it should be our choice to wear a seatbelt. Now when it involves children then the parents should be held accountable but if you're over 18 it should be your personal choice.
Also Washington state has some of the slowest speed limits in the country.
John Hall Whoaaaa, look out everybody... we've got an internet toughguy here!
You have death wish? Air bags won't deploy if their not buckled. WA state speed limits are in keeping with neighboring states, even CA has a 65 mph limit.
Good make it your choice to nit wear a brain bucket. Tge. Ext guy that hits you made his choice to drink and drive his air bag goes off you die from brain swelling syse your helmet you didn't want to wear!
Nice music touch at the end!
How do they turn on Radar
Anyone else annoyed how he gave someone a ticket for not wearing a seat belt and then it shows him putting on his seat belt as soon as he’s being filmed...
When you re a trooper you can do it the way you want.
@@billstout6159 When your a Trooper certain laws don't legally apply, like using a cell phone or computor while driving.
Would love to be able to be a Police Officer or State Trooper of some kind in the USA. Oh well, not likely to happen for me.
Good. State troopers are pussies.
Does anyone honestly think 70 mph is unsafe on a highway? Give me a break.
I'll take the occasional speeding ticket if I come across an officer who
disagrees.
Hell no
70 mph should be the average highway speed, if you cant drive safe at that speed. Give the BMV your license back.
Traffic enforcement is only one part of the job, unless the officer is on a traffic detail.
what is being done about habutual speeders and agressive drivers in clark county. if i had ticketing authority i could easily write 50 plus tickets a day for unsafe drivers
its simple, don't break the law, no need to be angry on a cop doing his job..
Lidar jammers work well my friends and they piss off cops too
Thats a crown vic its like a turtle taking off not an airplane.
Heres your ticket. Btw, do you have any marijuana on you today? Okay sir!
Because it's legal to have it in WA state
0:46 ? Sorry I can’t hear it properly, is the speed limit 65 and got pulled over for a 70?
Sounds like 60 to me
This is I-205 near Vancouver, WA. The limit is 60.
Stops citizen at 2:34 for driving with no seatbelt then at 3:35 is driving down the road with no seatbelt himself.
Speed limit 60...she gets pulled over for 70. lol wut that's nothing.
***** -- I don't mean to brag, but I got 15 the other day. Traffic flow was really rockin' on the 5.
***** Lol . . . Same story bro.
Jake Root here in Virginia that's normal
I roll 80 on i78 in Ohio, cops dont do nuthin'
"there's no quotas"
Bullshit. Don't write any fines, give everybody written warnings, see how long it takes for the supervisor to talk to you about it... There are absolutely quotas, every police force has them.
Only giving people written warnings wouldn't make them change...
+BrutalSwede Well don't give them a warning for repeat offenses. If it's you're first time getting caught speeding then cut them a warning.
+fpstina There is no quota but if your average isn't up to par with the rest of your unit you are going to get a one on one discussion for sure.
+BadDriversOfKY Lol I have never been given a warning even for expired tabs.
fpstina absolutely not true. Self initiated activity levels are relative to what similar officers are doing. Thats how get an average activity number to base high/average/low numbers
can U go anywhere in the state or just your district?
as long it's within the district you're assigned, WSP assigns troopers to districts which has counties inside so you're free to go anywhere within any of those counties, say for example you're assigned to Pierce County District 1, you can patrol District 1 which covers Pierce and other areas but you can't go far because what if a call comes out and you're the only trooper working that area, it would take 4 hours to get back to your county and the call if you're up near Vancouver when you're supposed to be in District 1
Wait isn't marijuana legal in washington. If yes than why is the officer asking if there is any marijuana in the car. He's expecting it to be like illegal so he can bust them.
The Trooper knows it's legal, not sure why he asked
Virginia State Police have stricter speed enforcement rules I believe. Don't come blowing through Virginia like you own my state. Respect the speed and heed wh signs you read.
I can’t believe they have a printer in their car.
The days of hand writing citations is mostly long gone. Computers need a printer for hard copy citations.
Glorified Meter Maid
Most State Troopers or State Police Officers are issued blue uniforms. I agree they do look kinda weird but I think it isn't that bad.
Maybe not so much. Most State Troopers wear a distinct uniform that is not all blue. That would be the Local LEO's who do it to save money. The WSP uniform has been around for at least 5 decades. WSP like most State Patrols wear traditional uniforms as way of honoring their past and the Troopers who died wearing it
why don't you stop the people who ride the passing lane, that's the one on the left for the people that don't know that.
Not every state has that as a law. My state doesn't specify that the left lane is for passing only, so the police can't do anything if I am in that lane just cruising. It isn't recommended but, it's not law in some areas.
So just a random "Do you have any Marijuana in the vehicle?" question at the end of the stop like usual lmao.
NOT EVEN ONE EIGHTEEN-WHEELER ! Cops don't collect from business
In Washington State there is a separate division that does nothing but stop trucks and commercial vehicles.
much easier job compared to local police who have to deal with domestic violence and robberies
Gets mad at them doing 62, just was doing 80 on camera! lol
Hmmmm....I wonder if this is my car. I bought a out of service washington state patrol car. I need more videos of this.
The way it's fun for you to "feel like you're taking off in an airplane" is the same way it is for most people who speed too. The seatbelt thing... Yeah ticket that guy, he's an idiot for not wearing it.
