    That's insane how fast the speed climbs when that booster kicks in and I can only imagine what the g forces were.

    It’s super interesting how it rotates one way on launch then as it’s breaks the sound barrier it starts to spin the other way.

    Metric conversions:
    Final altitude: 8698.66m
    Maximum speed: 572.9m/s
    Seems a lot of the deceleration was due to atmospheric drag.

    • @BuffMyRadius
      @BuffMyRadius 4 роки тому +1

      The rocket is the gyro, rockets that don't spin at all tend to make arcing flights because of small drag asymmetries. Fortunately, most rockets spin on their own because they have low longitudinal stability.

    • @Ftw9195
      @Ftw9195 4 роки тому

      Stuart Marshall it’s a shame that there was so much rotational speed to prevent a better view. Do you know why the change in rotation? Initial spin wasn’t so bad, but then it changed direction at a faster rate.

    • @BuffMyRadius
      @BuffMyRadius 4 роки тому

      @@Ftw9195 I'm guessing that the two sets of fins were initially canceling each other's rolling force until the booster stages. Watch for the roll to switch direction when it looses that second set of fins.

    • @bryrocket5408
      @bryrocket5408  4 роки тому +1

      People are using them. I just haven’t thus far. Getting the canards sized appropriately and designed in a way to handle the extreme changes in acceleration and velocity is daunting to me but I intend to start working on a module in the future. This sustainer has always spun more than others. I’ve suspected some slight imbalance in fin beveling somewhere, and I’ve investigated it a lot but haven’t been able to solve the problem. A side effect of the spinning has been that it flies very straight fwiw but kills the camera work.
      Here is someone I know that had done tons of stabilization work.

      @@melvinp1324 Tyson was wrong when he said that. Actual studies show that humans can see Earth’s curvature with the naked eye at any altitude above 10 km.
      If you hold a ruler up to the horizon, you can see it at sea level.
      We can confirm this by doing a geodetic survey: every piece of seemingly-flat land is curved, so are all bodies of water.
      Sea level is a spherical surface.

So do you have any ideas I have all the explosive charges to handle the parachute being blown out and such do not worry bout that. but yeah could you help possibly.???
