I want to say that I am super impressed with the low prices on your vintage items. No wonder they sold out so quickly!!
Me too. She could’ve charged so much more and it probably would have sold out just as fast. She did always say she wanted to keep the prices accessible!
thank you so much!
I really appreciate these prices! I feel like they're very reasonable. I see so many pop-up shops of vintage/thrift items that are exponentially (and ridiculously, IMO) over-priced.
Nothing wrong with keeping a target audience to "affordable", that's actually affordable! That's how you keep the customers coming!!
Her website says the set of Orange and Blue Small plates are still available. I wish they were closer to the colors of my kitchen.
So sad everything sold out, I remember when you found someone of those unique pieces!...if you auctioned them, they still would of all sold, your audience is obsessed with your special finds❤
Seeing the cottage, even just through some old footage, was very nice. I know a lot of us miss that place, and can't wait to see you finish it sometime this year. :)
Congrats on selling everything in a hour! I honestly thought I would see unreasonable L.A pricing out of reach for the less well off but I am pleasantly humbled that you made it possible for anyone to be able to have these beautiful items you have found! So because I personally can't afford your candles..I thank you that I can afford to shop on your new adventure!! I was bummed that nothing was left but happy for you that it was a huge success! I pray that you will continue to offer such fair kind pricing!! Sending love ❤️ Traci
How inspiring...needed this type of video right now!
Wow everything in your online shop is sold out, well done you and good luck packing and shipping everything.
Agreed! I didn’t make it in time but I was thrilled to see the prices were something I could actually afford.
Wow all sold out congratulations that's awesome❤
Omgg why does footage from the cottage make me so.emotional?? I remember watching u there when I was pregnant 2 years ago!! ❤
Love the cottage. Miss it. Love LA, too...but the Cottage came to life when you were there.❤
Omg same! I was pregnant with my first kiddo during her renovation!
Oh my gosh, Cade’s little voice at 15:25 is absolutely precious! ❤
Cade singing to you in the kitchen while making the bread melted my heart! Love watching this little family of yours every week!!
Tip for kneading bread- use a large floured board on your dining table so that you are using your body weight instead of arm muscles to push it down. The board will save your finish because you need to use a dough scraper sometimes in humid weather. Much easier.
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the rain in the open scene because you guys needed it. Hugs from MS
Yay I got the brass bell for my daughter’s nursery shelf! Bells have always been of significance for me. 🥹
When I was 15 (65 now) I made bread every weekend, 5 loaves worth. No kitchen aid for me. I did it all in a huge ceramic bowl, kneading by hand. Then I sliced all the bread and made sandwiches for the family and stored them in the freezer.
It was hard work but it was also very therapeutic.
I used to bake eight loaves at a time. I only do four now. I got tired of kneading for eight minutes and I got a KitchenAid, I almost burnt the motor out. It was clicking and clacking. I have the more heavy duty one now.
We sure did not have it as easy as these kids .. remember when there wasn't power steering in a car lol
MaCenna , how very sweet of you to price your items so they can be purchased reasonably. Very generous of you❤️
yes generous is the better word as she’s definitely not making any real money back from these sales
That amount of work you must have put in for that online shop on top of the candle business, your videos, and your own personal life is insane. Wowza!!! I missed out, it was totally sold out by the time I saw it but serious kudos to you for launching that collection online for everyone to enjoy! There are tons of stand mixer specific bread recipes to tinker with, I'm sure you'll find a fave :)
6:18 seeing the cottage makes my heart so happy ❤
Wow!! I am just watching this video, and quickly went online, and almost everything is sold out!!! That was quick!!!
Me too! I had an item in my cart and someone bought it while I was trying to pay. 😢
The prices are great compared to others online
And now everything is sold out!
Me too 😢
@ wow!!!
It’s nice to see that the items were priced appropriately for what they’re worth. Some similar people who also sell vintage have a 100% markup that most couldn’t afford.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
j/K
She has more stuff, look out for her next video. Good luck on grabbing an item 🤣
Sooooo true
Then people should get out and find their own vintage. I love that this was so cheap, but others like Lone Fox do it as a regular business and shipping takes a lot of time. It’s great she did this, but it is more of a one off and she won’t make much for her time. People aren’t obligated to source vintage as a favour for others ☺️
Wow as soon as I went online everything is gone. I will have to catch the next one. Thank you Macenna for being so authentic. I am sure we have all been with you when you purchased everything.
Tip for the transfer to the Dutch oven: flip the bread onto the parchment first, then use the corners to lower it into the Dutch oven. Saw that online somewhere and never turned back!
Thanks for this tip!! ❤
I you like cooking and making bread you may like a channel called … This Golden Hour … she does lots of cooking and making bread 😊😊
I'm very impressed that you didn't decide to keep all your shop items!
I use cornmeal for the bottom of the Dutch oven and just dump the bread in there. No paper needed.
@ that’s how I did it in the past too but since I’m more novice at bread baking, I always worry about partially deflating my dough when I put it into the Dutch oven. That’s why I think the parchment trick is genius!
I’m so sorry I missed out on your wonderful sale! I came to the party a little late. I do appreciate the fact that you didn’t over price the items. In fact, many of them were real steals!
It does my heart good, being a resident of Los Angeles myself, that you are donating part of the monies to fire victims. What a lovely and generous person you are! ❤
I saw this video 31 minutes after it was posted. Everything is sold out. Super happy for you McKenna. ❤❤❤
Craziness
crazy you misspell her name but could go to her website 😅
@ true. Amazing what us single digit IQ people can do now a days.
You being like, "oh so many dishes" made me laugh. I was like uhhh yeah Macenna, you were dish crazy for a bit. 😆
Love that she truly didn’t over price the items! Sad I didn’t get to the website fast in enough but can’t wait for the next drop! ❤
I love how peaceful your videos begin
thank you so much!
Same here ❤
Finally rain! What a way to start, so fresh I can almost smell it! I cant wait to see what you curate in the shop.
Tips for bread, mix yeast, sugar and water first. Let it sit for a whike fir the yeast to activate. Once you see bubbles, then incorporate your flour. Also use a pastry mat if you have one. It will save your counter tops
I love that you’re never afraid to pivot. And you share that process and are open about it. Like with the pop up shop, the cottage reno, the patio makeover, even the bread from this video! Things change and come up and you always do whatever you feel is right and makes the most sense for YOU while always being transparent and sharing about it. We’re all human and constantly learning and I like that you share that approach to all of your projects instead of putting arbitrary pressure or stress on yourself. I feel like a lot of people shy away from doing that and I think it’s really brave and shows how attuned you are to your goals.
@@baydub22
I agree with this wholeheartedly! I'm always interested in seeing what she's putting on her channel each time she releases a video. I go in with zero expectations of seeing anything in particular. I like the fluidity and that she's not a slave to a rigid schedule. Keeps things interesting! I mean, she has a general schedule, sure, but I'm with you - I like the way if something else comes up, she just goes with it!
So glad you all got some rain down there. Also happy that you decided to do an online shop so anyone can shop from it.
Im glad you decided to put it online because some ppl wouldnt be able to make it to a pop up shop. I cant wait to browse! 😊
yay yeah i agree!
Almost everything is sold out. 😢
Browse was about all there is to do since it's mostly sold out already😢
I didn’t see one thing actually available. Hmmm. 🤔
Congrats everything is sold out!
That’s actually a great idea, this online shop sounds more like your niche. 😊
I’ve been following you from the beginning and I just can’t believe how far you’ve come! With Romeo and your precious Cade, your candles, your videos (2channels!) your cottage in Texas and your beautiful home in LA home, and now the online shop. I’m so happy for all your success. You work so hard. You have earned it and you deserve it!!🥰❤️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I missed out😢 but so glad you are supporting our families in needs due to the fires. My coworkers were affected by it and so glad there is so much support.
Ill try next time on your sales. Congratulations!!😊
I read the title and got very excited! AN ONLINE DECOR SHOP! WOOOOO!!!! Can't wait to start shopping from you AND Drew!!!!
Cade's babbling in the background is SO cute!
Yes, yes & YES!!!!
I’m 1 hr after the video was posted and it’s all sold out. Congrats girl! I’m so happy with the pricing that you did for us. I love Drew but his prices are outrageous! I really hope I’m lucky enough to catch it in time on the next one. I really just wanted maybe 1 piece, esp that coffee grinder. I think you found it in Canton and I live in Texas myself. I don’t even really drink coffee much! My memory isn’t always great but I’m sure I saw you at the very least haul everything. Oh that’s awesome you’re donating a portion also. Many people don’t need the money and would still charge like a high end antique store. I guess that’s one of the reasons we all love you.
girl who doesn’t need money? you have no idea what people’s expenses are. lone fox has multiple employees and now a store warehouse place he also pays for a warehouse in arizona plus his website hosting etc etc plus he’s charging fair market price for the unique finds he gets and he’s cleaning them archiving them shipping them and doing it on a consistent basis to keep the store stocked. like for real get a grip
I’m so gutted to see criticisms of Drew’s prices after this one off drop Macenna has done. She isn’t making much off this and certainly her time is not included! It takes so long. In Drew’s defence, it’s his regular business that he needs to make a profit from. If you want cheap vintage, you need to go out and get it yourself.
@ thank you
i am so incredibly sad that i missed your pop-up-shop 💔 beautiful items, please do another one in the (hopefully near-) future
thank you for your content, you are one of my favorite creators
Im so glad you have rain in LA. I've never wanted rain more for someone, despite living in an extremely rainy Northern England. I love the online collection idea but alas we aren't able to participate. The Brambley Hedge plates hold a special place for me because my grandma has them on her wall that my mum bought her for looking after me as a baby 40 years ago
Best artisan bread I found 4 years ago on site ‘always autumn’. Put 4 ingredients in bowl overnight and bake in morning. Best bread you have ever had and so easy!
Would you mind sharing the recipe. I can’t find the UA-cam channel.
@franceswhiston2572 Have you tried adding rosemary and sea salt to the top?
@@bettenotap4791. Yes I have also cheddar cheese. Such a great recipe
Thank you for the recipe @franceswhiston. Never made bread but l'm going to try it, looks easy! Greetings from Australia :)
Your insticts were spot on w leaving the dough tacky! Brava, your 1st attempt was beautiful, btw. I've been trying to master my bread, making skills as well, here are a few things that have helped me
1. I don't like to knead and fold all day either, so i make the dough let it rise twice, then i refrigerate it overnight night and bake the next day (not in a stainless bowl). Works like a charm
2. You have to then bring the dough back up to room temperature. I let it rise on parchment paper so the transfer to the hot pan is easier
3 do you see how your bread cracked on the top? If you really want to get fancy you " score" the top w a line or look up some tutorials for quick, easy patterns to score your bread so it doesn't crack randomly
4. You're absolutely correct. You bake for 30 min covered them 5-10 w the lid off to get it that golden color ( some recipes say to lower the heat by 50° with lid off).
Sourdough is fun too same exact steps just add sourdough to your recipe.
I also have an easier low maintenance sourdough if you like
How you have fun you're doing great!!!
Well done on the shop!!
For your parchment paper, screw it up in a ball like you’re throwing it away then open it up again, it makes it so much more pliable to put stuff in or on it.
Enjoy the hand kneading experience while you can, I miss it.
I’m 45 this year and have early arthritis and can no longer knead dough of any kind my hands hurt so much.
It’s a skill to practice now so you can teach Cade soon xxx
Checked your collection: Beautiful! And much more "accessible" in price than some of your colleagues.
I know. And I know who I can think of that marks it up so high that I’ve never purchased a single thing.
do you know how much time and effort it takes to find things that are in good condition then cleaning them photographing them uploading them shipping them? and then also trying to keep a fair price in the market? and make ends meet? you can’t possibly expect individuals on youtube to give this stuff away for free. she has a candle business and much more $$ that she can give away cheap stuff
Love watching you uncover all the things and some items that i remember you purchasing. Woohoo!!!
I’ve heard it helps to unlock the bread hook while it’s mixing. So it doesn’t break the mixer if the dough becomes too thick. Happy bread making! ❤
Such a success on debut of online shop. Cant wait to see new inventory . Congratulations.
Macenna 2025!!!!! You go woman.
I am beyond excited! I never have good luck, but I got so lucky to have ordered something from your collection! I have been watching you from almost beginning! I love your thrift adventures! Especially watching your sweet Mom and you thrifting. Going to the one flea every third weekend was incredible! You guys need to take out time and go to the flea market in TX when you are there renovating the cottage this year! Especially going by to say Hi to the donkey. Wondering if you have enough space in your Mom’s SUV was sometimes an adventure within its self! Can’t wait to get my enamel teapot! Plus I can help LA victims with my purchase! I know the money will goto a great cause! ❤
Spraying my sourdough with water before I put the lid on in the oven is *soo good* it gives it a shiny, bubbly crust.
I am so excited to FINALLY have the pop-up shop!!!!!! I have been waiting, I was even planning to book a flight to come to CA when it happened lol. Having it online is extra exciting!
I know a lot of people have commented on how fair your prices are in your shop, but I feel the need to add my 2 cents :) Wow, MaCenna! I follow a lot of vintage resellers & I also follow the trends of vintage sales on eBay & I can’t believe how inexpensive your prices were (past tense because you sold out!). I know you’ve had a lot of (unfair) criticism on your candle prices, so I think it’s incredibly sweet of you to make it so anyone can shop your shop. I just hope you were still able to turn a profit because some of your prices were well under market value. I am really bummed I missed the sale! 😊❤
Nice 👌🏾 you’re right, this wouldn’t be a viable business plan but it’s a nice one off for her valued followers. The time it took to find it, take it back to LA, photograph and ship is obviously undervalued on this drop but I think for a one off drop it is a nice gesture.
YAY, SO EXCITED, AT LAST!!! THE POP UP SHOP ON-LINE FOR EVERYONE & I BOUGHT SOMETHING QUICK QUICK QUICK!!!! Sooooooooooo HAPPY!!! Thank you MaCenna!!!❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉
yayyyyyyyy
You should try sourdough!!! It’s so fun and you don’t have to kneed it. You just stretch and fold every few hours and bake it in your Dutch oven. I made my own starter this summer. It takes about 10 days to make the starter but it just gets better and better. I’m a novice but improving and loving my bread baking journey. ❤
I can’t believe your shop is almost all sold out! You curated so many cute stuff unfortunately being in Canada I just can’t afford the the exchange & shipping 😢 but I’m so excited you made this shop. It definitely needs to be an ongoing shop. You’ll do amazing with it!
Love hearing precious Cade babble!! Cutest thing ever!! And omg, ur collection is 100% sold out already!! Congrats!! You had some great stuff and reasonable prices to boot!!
Everything done gone ! WOW So sweet to hear a happy baby!
MaCenna, I am so excited for your new “pop-up shop” that you have been sharing with us for years. I can’t wait to see the entire collection online. On a breakfast note, your bread looked fantastic. Though I am not a baker as well, I have watched UA-cam videos in fascination on people that make beautiful types of bread loaves. One thing I noticed that they did was mix the yeast powder in the water, and let it sit for a certain number of minutes per the recipe, before incorporating it with the dry mixture. Your directions may or may not have asked you to do that, but you’re a great researcher, so you might wanna look into that Important step in baking bread. Lastly, I loved seeing the rain in Southern California In your video today and my favorite part of your video was hearing how talkative Caden has become. Question: will you be building your living room shelves And outdoor patio makeover in California before doing the full remodel in Texas? Thank you for your wonderful Content. You are my number one Favorite UA-cam vlogger And I look forward to each of your videos because you’re super creative, A great designer and so much fun To watch as a mommy. I missed Kingsley today.❤️🐶🐾
You did beautifully on your collection! Every single thing I wanted was sold out! Excellent sales!
Every. Single. Thing! 😢
Wow, I just watched this and went directly to the website and everything was sold out! Congratulations!!! Beautiful items
So so happy we got some rain after these fires!!!
But just enough, don't want any slides. Doesn't it sound beautiful? And you know, maybe that was the real reason behind your reno, the upgraded drainage. Mysterious ways!
Baby babels ❤❤❤❤❤❤ he sounds so sweet and happy
Silent to that angel singing to his mama. God is awesome.
Just saw a comment saying you sold out already. Lucky you don't post to the UK coz I'd be pissed waking up at 6a.m when you post vlog overnight and everything had sold. Amazing it has, all those months/years of collecting gone in hours, well done. Now just a massive amount of postage to do. Bread looks delicious!
For some reason I forgot to check your store after watching your video and now that I checked it, I regret it as I would have both so many of the pieces! Looking forward to the next one!❤
Oh MaCenna I'm so excited for you & for us. I've been watching your channel since you lived in your apartment, boho style. You've come a long way baby. I'm so proud of you & how much knowledge you've gain.Sending lots of love. To Romeo thank you for being such an example of what a true supportive partner looks like. Cade you are so blessed. I have tears,of joy & pride,as if I was your kin.💞
This is so special! What a nice thing to do for your viewers!!!! I can’t wait until the next one !
I was so excited about your online shop and immediately went to it but everything was already sold☹️ Hope you are owing to have a lot more inventory as your things are so pretty!!
I’m smiling so big over here when you’re talking about kneading the bread by hand cause that was my grandpas proudest moments at our gatherings, telling everyone that he’d kneaded the dough for all my grandma’s bread, buns and such. ☺️ In other words, use Romeo! 😂🥰
So bummed that it’s all gone! Good for you!! Keep shopping!
That dress looked so good! A tip I learned when first making bread with yeast, use a wooden or ceramic/clay bowel to raise. Sometimes using metal can have a negative effect on the yeast. It may not rise as well or turn out too dense
Much better if you add the yeast, in a bread recipe , to the water...usually with sugar. Then add it to the flour. Yeast feeds on sugar so it really activates and dissolves it.
You're bread looked great! When I cook mine, I make honey butter. It is very simple to make, just melt your butter some and add honey. YUM, YUM.
Good morning Macenna! Oh you had some of the most amazing pieces In the pop up shop!😮 So many i would have loved to gotten.. But I was too late🥺 life had been so busy! Oh my goodness those sweet baby babbles in the background are so stinking precious🥰 The bread looked delish!😋 Hopefully I'll catch the next round for the shop.. have a blessed rest of your week!😊
Absolutely lived this vlog. You give me such inspiration for my collection of vintage goodies. Baby boy sounds so cute in the background.
Congrats on your store. I jumped over during your video (paused video of course 😊), lots of sold out pieces- double congrats!! I would buy your mom’s art (framed by you due to very limited beautiful frames here). Big art like what you have over your fireplace. This is so exciting for us and you. Thank you Romeo for doing the shipping, If you do shipping like you do your laundry, all will go great!! :)
That would be my favorite thing to purchase as well. A beautiful frame, not too big of one for me, with her mom’s beautiful original art in it!
I’m so sad.. I’ve had the most busy week and completely missed the shop drop 😢
Hopefully I can grab some goodies the next time! You really collect the most beautiful things ❤
Oh my gosh, Cade's coos and singing!!!!😊
I am just seeing you finally started your pop up shop! I’m devastated to miss it! That was SO fast!
I just got the notification for this video one hour ago. Just watched it and by the time I went online everything was sold out😢. You did a great job on this collection. Wish I could have made it earlier. Just wanted to say Cade in the background giggling made my day!
8:53 “Hi” took me out ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️😂😂😂
All gone! I want to thank you so much for keeping your prices manageable! Your sideline will be a great success!
❤ so fun you finally did it! Hope that shipping all those items doesn’t exhaust you
Wow I looked and everything was sold 😮😊🎉great to see some California rain! 😊
I found a bread recipe years ago on pinterest for "Rustic Crusty Bread". Very easy, very delicious...and extremely forgiving. You can just add things like rosemary and such. It turns out perfect everytime. No machine needed. It uses a Dutch oven and does require you to remove the lid near the end of baking, so you were spot on with that. Keep us posted.
yummmmmm i want to try adding herbs too!
So happy you sold out! That is so kind of you to share with your neighbors!🙏🏻❤️😉
Congratulations on selling out your items.
Its inspiring for the rest of us small business owners to see ana active consumer market still exist❤
I missed the online shop😢. It's all good! I'm so glad it sold out. I'll keep my eye out for the next one. I love your channel so much.
Love what you have done waiting on the deck finish and den/living area. However understand the wait and nesting in your kitchen.
I can't believe your online shop is already "Sold Out"! You better get busy finding more stuff! LOL! When you were baking your bread, Cade's sweet voice was so cute!
macenna, when seam ripping, if you put the ball part of it "inside" the seam, you can get long swaths of the seams open bc it prevents the seam ripper from piercing the fabric. you only need to make sure the other pokey side stays "up". (i have no idea if i described that well enough fo ryou to understand, but i'm sure there are "how to properly use a seam ripper" vids you can look up) makes things go a LOT quicker
smartttttttttttt omg
and Mrs T Great to see a glimpse of the cottage again and so well done putting your collection for the pop up shop together. The bread looked good too
Congratulations on your online collection. By the time I watched your video every single item was sold out. Your pricing was amazing so it’s no wonder. Love your content!
I'm so glad you all got rain! I know that will help with all the wildfires. I miss the cottage and can't wait for that content! I'm super bummed because I was at work when you posted about your decor shop and by the time I looked you sold out but CONGRATULATION ON THAT! I knew it would happen because so many of us have been excited for you to do the shop
Cade singing is PRECIOUS!
I’ve been in the hospital with a severe case of pneumonia so missed the antique drop so can’t wait for the next one! Everything was absolutely gorgeous and the prices were amazing!
Don't I find my 4 year old fast aslee holding my phone while this video plays. 😂. It's her voice that's so soothing. ❤
Congratulations MaCenna!! I love how authenticity you keep just building your brand and businesses. Can’t wait for the next drop!🙌🏻✨
All of that work and everything GONE in under an hour! Great job!! And thank you so much for making it such accessible pricing!!!❤
So awesome, the pop-up shop finally came to fruition!!! Sold out! Congrats!!❤
Congratulations on the success of your online store launch! Super prices and very nice items for a launch! Very nice and well done, McCeena! Setting yourself up for success! ❤🇨🇦
How fun to see your collection even tho everything has sold. I’ve been a vendor at a second hand shop for 8 years and enjoy hunting for treasures to resell. Some things I get to use myself for awhile then switch out for something else and sell.
Hi Macenna. I’m so impressed about how carefully you think things thru, and come up with a good system when doing things like photographing your items for sale. You are so clever and smart about the way you manage your business and life, in general. ~Cathy
Ever consider Rit dye, for cushions instead of all new
You've inspired me to try making my own bread! Thank you! (And as a resident of LA, thank you for your generosity in helping the fire victims. )
I too like how your videos start… always feel like we’re ’easing into the day’ with you. I hope you’re keeping well ☺️
I was so excited to see the vintage items! I really appreciate you keeping prices reasonable.
