To think that the Dodgers won this series 4-1 without a starting rotation is mind blowing. To tell you the truth to do it the whole postseason is incredible. Hats off to the Dodgers bullpen and Roberts!
The World Series was a microcosm of the Yankees season. The 5th inning was shocking but not terribly surprising given their erratic play all year. I don't think I've ever seen more of a strange defensive collapse like that inning. Game 1 was very similar, but that was more of Boone's failures with pitching changes along with a couple of big defensive mistakes. The Yankees faced easier competition in the ALCS and ALDS than usual. They had an easier path the World Series than most do. They were fortunate not to face Baltimore and Houston, yet they still performed poorly. The construction of the roster is heavily flawed yet still performs well enough to be a playoff team but championship quality. It's been that way for years with the Yankees. Unfortunately, I don't see many changes coming due to the team's "success" this year and contractual obligations. I've been wanting Boone gone for years, but the Yankees will likely pick up his option for next season.
Great point. Two sac flies in game one also. I think casual fans assume sack flies happen all the time. They’re not super common. If a player hits ten in a season he will likely lead his team in them. Getting them right when they had to have them was a combination of great hitting and poor pitching to some extent. I was pleasantly surprised.
I’ve listened to you guys for a long time. Almost the whole history of the show. Thanks for the recap and all the great content over the years. Last night sucked. Bad. But today, tomorrow, forever.
Dodger fan here! I've been on the losing side too, and I know how tough it feels. Just want to give props to the Yankees and their fans for a strong season - you put up a great fight. Here's to both teams grinding it out and pushing for that next big dub! P.S. those hats are fire!
That's so cool of you to comment so positively my friend. I'm a Dodgers fan too. But both teams are solid 💪 it was a great series to watch. This fun is what baseball is all about. 😊

Let's just admit that the Yankees haven't been the Yankees since the Core Four dynasty ended, whether you want that to mean after the 2000 Subway Series or after their last championship in 2009 (because even then some of them, like Jeter, were still playing as of 2009), for since the 2000 Subway Series the Yankees have now lost 3 out of their last 4 World Series appearances (lost in 2001, 2003 and now this year; 2024, while only winning in 2009). The 20th Century might've belonged to the Yankees but the 21st Century has been the century of the Red Sox, Astros and now possibly the Dodgers (the 2017 and 2018 World Series notwithstanding), not the one of the Yankees, that's for damn sure
As a Dodgers fan,,, tbh I was disheartened when we were down 5-0,,, but comfortable that the yanks had to beat us 4 times in a row… (which was happen not gonna) and that’s when I began to #ThinkBlue and collectively as a fan base we thought it at the same time… This is ten percent luck Twenty percent skill Fifteen percent concentrated power of will Five percent pleasure Fifty percent pain And a hundred percent reason to remember the name
Well, the Yankees just didn’t give the Dodgers all the runs in the 5th inning, even with the Yankees errors the Dodgers still had to get the 2 hits to drive in 4 runs after Betts made it to first base which scored 1 run 😆
Bronx Pinstripes, Nice channel. I am a huge Yankees fan. But the Dodgers were better and deserved to win really. Yankees have much work to do in the off-season! Yankees MUST Re-sign Juan Soto or they will not sniff a World series run in a while!!
They scored 1 run off of all those blunders. It put them in a bad position too . But there was 2 outs 2 strikes on Freeman who a single scoring 2 . And then T. Hernandez hit a double for 2 more runs
No, those runs were unearned, sure, but a Championship teams takes advantage of those unforced errors, errors the Yankees have been making off and on all season. And the Dodgers have been taking advantage of opportunities all season. The win was Earned. Fact.
These guys are infinitely smarter and cooler than the insufferable Jomboy Media morons. Proof that there are cool and respectful Yankees fans out there. Best of luck resigning Soto (I know you will but it's gonna cost half a billion). - another Dodgers fan : )
Sorry as a dodgers fan I love those guys. The Yankees are their team you can’t give them flack for that. It’s competition it is what it is. When I think of baseball I think of Jomboy Media. The way the break down games is very entertaining. I’ll still be tuning in to their channel.
Yes technically the runs were unearned and Cole was hurt by the errors but Cole did give up the hit to Freeman knocking in two runs and the double to Hernandez for another two runs. Dodgers never hung their heads and kept running out balls and running hard on the bases forcing errors or bad choices. Yankees opened the door and the Dodgers took advantage
As a Dodger fan, my commiserations on losing in such a brutal way. You guys have been respectful and classy throughout, if not the Dodgers hopefully you get it the next few years!
I genuinely was worried that the dodgers were going to lose this game and eventually lose the series. I'm happy as a dodgers fan but I just can't believe we won being down 5-0.
I really feel like not having to face Houston hurt the Yanks. They didn't face down their boogeyman, and it showed. They looked like they took the WS for granted. Fundamental errors all over the place is a sign they weren't locked in.
A good way to compare the teams is seeing how they ran down to first!! Yanks don't even put the pressure on Freeman to have the potential to make the error at first unlikely Betts pressuring Rizzo. I still can't believe how it happened.
I have not watched a Yankees game all season but in 5 games I saw Verdugo play a double into a triple in a one run game, Soto play a single into a triple, Judge play an out into a single, Torres not catch a relay throw turning a double into a triple, Chisolm not catching a ball for a force out, Volpe miss an easy 30 foot throw, Cabrera miss a ground ball that could have been at least one out into nothing, Cole not cover first with the bases loaded and 2 out, Judge not throw to third and allow a runner to advance, plus a catchers interference to load the bases in the eighth inning of a tied elimination game. I’m not even going to bring up base running. This is what a 300M dollar payroll gets you? I’m sorry I can’t say all those players are horrible. That is an organizational problem. That team needs new management and coaching. You have taken all the money the fans spent and the organization invested and flushed it down the toilet. I don’t know that I have ever seen a team embarrass themselves in a world series so profoundly. Lots of teams have under performed in the post season and disappointed fans but that was pathetic. Slumping in a series and being eliminated is one thing but this was something else. Imagine the huge ratings that MLB got and all the new fans around the world watching that. This was supposed to be the most prestigious organization in Baseball. Laughable.
Well said…..the team caught the ending they deserved. The team is frustrating. It’s like they ride a high of being “The Yankees” without addressing the issues that have plagued them for a while. At the end of the day, Cashman & Boone need to be axed to make room for managers who care to actually get better.
During the season it felt like every couple weeks they would lose the worst game I've ever seen. Only fitting to end the season with the absolute worst loss ever
I wasn’t expecting to win the World Series but making history tonight and making it to a game 6 felt like a small victory if they were to lose later in the series. What just happened
All 5 Dodger runs in the 5th, we’re, as you said, unearned. However, the Dodgers singled and doubled the last 4 runs of the inning in. So technically unearned because the inning should have been over, but suck it up Yankees. The Dodgers still had to get back to back 2 out, 2 strike hits off arguably the best pitcher in the playoffs. There is no communication required between pitcher and 1b on grounders hit to the right side. The pitcher gets to the bag until the 1b waves him off or is obviously making the play. From the moment the grounder was squibbed, Cole headed straight to the dugout. Pathetic.
Believe me when i say this, there were no bigger Yankees fans than SF Giants this week. We were ALL behind you guys 100%. SO heart breaking. Judge catches that ball, Volpe makes a decent throw, Cole covers first base....if any ONE of those things happen we would have a game 6. Now i have to deal with obnoxious dodger fans here in Cali. Best of luck to you guys in the AL next year.
nah...the volpe play, not easy to make kike was in the path of the ball, chism was out of position, that play wasn't happeing 90% of the time...cole/rizzo play on first....nope, mookie was hustling, cole's body was out of steam, he didn't have the energy he's a big guy like rizzo, slow, that play although makeable prob wasn't gonna be made even if he broek to first right away, rizzo and him were exhausted...so you're talking like it was some even matchup....right...all post season the dodger's applied pressure to the padres, the mets and yankee's...the pitched better in the clutch, played better fundamental baseball, better at bats, baserunning etc..the were playing at an elite level all post season and thats with 2 reliable starters and 2 AAA pitchers....a one armed ohtani and freeman with a cracked rib and bad ankle....nobody handed them shit....their victory was well earned and a game isn't over till the final out...5th there's plenty of game left for both teams.
Good, not great season for the Yankees. I wished every game this season had the drama this one had, win or lose. And yes Boone, at least to me, this is the first time I’m really watching him, totally gives off the typical USC snob vibe where he feels above criticism and doesn’t know how to rally the clubhouse. But great season, would be dope to run this series back next season.
Yeah, your team needs to work on playing not AL Central teams in the playoffs. 8-7 in playoff series during the Judge era. 7-0 versus the AL Central and 1-7 versus everybody else (the 1 win was against the A's in '18). Would also help to fix Judge, since during that period, 2017 through today, Judge has 262 PAs at .205/.318/.450. What some never relate when they speak to Judge "ending his slump" (since is larger than this series, this post-season). Oh, and try not go into cardiac arrest when mad scowler Soto demands 50 mil/season. Was not at all fond of him when he was on the Nats and Pads, and did not really care about him on your team. Hopefully, he stays in the AL so I can continue not caring. You need replace Rizzo and Verdugo. Have zero idea on who, since the pickings are slim. Also depends on how much you pay the mad scowler, and Torres, if management wants to keep him too. Lastly, I don't count '63 as I was one year old, but what with '81 and '24, we're now even.
After this performance, Aaron Judge will never be the best player on a World Series team. He gets 60% of the blame, the rest goes to Boone and Cashman for their mentalities
To think that the Dodgers won this series 4-1 without a starting rotation is mind blowing. To tell you the truth to do it the whole postseason is incredible. Hats off to the Dodgers bullpen and Roberts!
The Yankees were outclassed, outmanaged, and outplayed. The Dodgers were not going to be beaten by anyone this year.
Gitzen, I am a huge Yankees fan and you are 120% correct my friend!
Game 5 was a microcosm of the entire season
Only thing they were missing was a baserunning mishap.

Doesn’t matter if the Yankees had swept the Dodgers. The non-playoff Giants would still be the Dodgers’ biatches.
Why did the yankees have a starting rotation?🤔
Your homie kinda looks like Boone! 😂
Damn I wish I was there to crash this
Poor baserunning and poor fielding cost them the series.
Good, not great season for the Yankees. I wished every game this season had the drama this one had, win or lose. You lose by only scoring 1 run after the 3rd inning.

The world series was fixed.
im not even mad about losing the series dodgers played better im just shocked how we fucked ourself but shit happenes we will run it back in 2025
Can't win championships relying on hitting bombs in a little league stadium.
Errors
Boone returning in 2025 confirmed according to Andy Martino.
Ohtani sucked
But he an injury as an excuse.
They were paid too through the game
