Hey NickTew! Definitely enjoyed this video as well as your Trickster videos. I am really torn between the two classes. I was drawn to Pyro from day one but like many others have flip flopped around as there is so much potential with all the classes. I am loving the hunt the prey, venator's knife and twisted round build for Trickster, especially if/when you are lucky enough to get the Ugake Otarah legendary armor set. I would REALLY appreciate your opinion as to whether the Trickster or this build would suit a solo player better? I find both of these classes to be insanely fun to use and am having a difficult time choosing which to main. I am a huge fan of Overheat and know how powerful the "Rounds" abilities are for Techno, Pyro and Trickster. The third ability has been a toss up between heatwave, ash blast or feed the flames. In all honesty, I do happen to find more utility and use for feed the flames so I find myself drawn and interested in this build. Thanks in advance for helping me choose between the two classes and providing your feedback :)
This was a very compact and insightful video, well done and keep it up my man! Some videos focused on the games mechanics would be appreciated, for instance I didn't know status power effected burn time.
I run a similar build that’s a little more dialed in. Spec more into Ash Breaker for the immobilization CD reduction, grab weapon leech perks & the anomoly boost. --- For survivability, I would add weapon leech skills/mods. You can get 50-100% weapon leech on ash breaker with mods for survivability. And that’s before you factor in a free health bar from FtF every 12 seconds and passive heals from marked kills. ---- For damage, 100% swap out overheat for thermal bomb. You can mod for double targets in one cast. The first one usually blows up the second. You can cover enemies in ash/weakness before detonation for increased damage. You get almost 100% uptime on the 45% anomaly boost in ash breaker with FtF. You can also get the 40% damage debuff mod on TB targets to burst them down quickly and consistently. Even if thermal bomb did nothing else... the debuff would be worth casting on bosses over Overheat for the better debuff that applies to your entire party. It’s also an interrupt with a significantly lower CD. ---- Everything else is basically the same. You’re still wiping the floor with infinite volcanic rounds... you’re just dying less and blowing shit up everywhere when you gun down enemies.
Great tips. I'm currently farming CT14 and have noticed a few other skills that are helpful. You don't need to spec into Incinerate if you put Ultimate Ashen Bullets (1s) on your weapon. The legendary weapon that gives this mod is currently in the drop pod shop. This is also nice because you don't need to wait for the burn effect to end for ash to be applied. Reforging Bullets is very good, it makes it so critical hits don't use ammo. At higher CT, bosses have a ton of health and you won't have enough in your mag to replenish. Also, Bullet Kindling (+20% Damage to enemies afflicted by burn), Ash Cleaner (Critical Shots apply extra 23414 damage to enemies afflicted with ash), Ashen Boost (+20% Damage to enemies afflicted with ash) and Thirst for Blood (Increases weapon leech by 40% for 10s when you kill an enemy afflicted by bleed). Otherwise, I use Mitigation from Death and Golem for survivability. I have noticed that Vampiric Mag does not always proc and may have some kind of internal cooldown? I'm not really sure.
As always- so impressed with your understanding of the mechanics in games.. I just get into them and love the gunplay and sadly understand nothing- so impressive!
THIS RIGHT HERE!!!! REMEMBER THIS!!!, I made the mistake of "upgrading" to an 80 round clip LMG and DE'd my 150 round clip and i've been pissed at myself since. Now just hoping to get another decent 150 round clip LMG with decent mods.
Thanks for this awesome video! I only had to respec from the firestorm to this and my damage increased 5x from 900 per crit to 4500. cant wait to see this when i get the right mods
If you want to proc ash in a decent AOE,if you decide to use thermal bomb, there's a armor mod that inflicts ash on every enemy in its vicinity, just before thermal bomb is detonated. Think a smaller ash blast, but with a big aoe explosion for more damage. There's also an armor mod that allows for a 2nd thermal bomb before cooldown. This could make thermal bomb a decent alternative to overheat. Minus the overheat mod that increased weapon damage for 5 second after use that you'd lose. With fire and rifle node still applies,as it's also an explosive skill.
I'm going to try this build out and see how it is. I mainly picked pyromancer as my main because I wanted to be like a fire mage, so it's a little disappointing to see that it's at its best with a gunplay build and weak anomaly. Oh well.
Have you considered looking into some builds that aren't centered around using volcanic rounds / twisted ? I'm hoping they buff anomaly builds because the meta right now is not very interesting
I agree. It's a little sad how much stronger you are with volcanic rounds. Pyro was my first lvl 30 and pure anomaly build is fun but hard to go through expeditions.
Hey just got into the game , quick question , is it worth putting or changing mods on weapons/armor while lvling? i mean you get a new/better piece every lvl
Tbh Idk if this is a fun build. Buffing your weapob and.... shoot things? Is not something I want to do with a pyromancer who is supposed to be the offensive mage class, exploding and burning his foes.
You're not getting a glass cannon build with pyromancer at this time. Damage to go specifically pyromancer doesn't have any burst damage and if you don't get weapon damage, you're not going to do enough damage with bullets to make the exploding skills useful.
Nice! SO when you explained the volcanic rounds set them on fire I immediately went "Oh shit, that health regen!" And then when you didn't mention it right away I came to comment it right as you said it too. Lol
Been using this build for a while before seeing your video somethings to think about. It's spotty if you play with other people as your ability to trigger refills on ammo depends on killing blows which you can get a dry spell on if teammates get the killing blow instead. You can struggle on the bosses at higher tiers because the boss might take more than 1 clip to kill. Also of note anyone who has played with some of the tier 3 mods will discover the procs for a number of tier 3 mods are simply OP and will out dmg your gun and molten shots period. So having multiple high dmg procing mods can be better than molten especially in teams were your clips ends up going dry. Last request I see people showing their builds alot but I rarely see them showing their dmg output at the end of expedition runs, and comparing their output to team members who have a proper build.
thanks! It works like a charm, @ 8:35 . I am applying it to my Trickster. I am using also Disruptive Power, Outrider Executioner, Countershield and Combat Shield's Timeline to boost my damage. I saw you have other videos on the Techno and I believe also the Trickster. I will definitely check them out. Cheers.
Watch any esoterickk video on this game, any tree can do just as much damage as any other, middle trees just relying more on mods to scale properly and bottom tree makes you a little squishy, but especially on pyro you can just blast through even the toughest of levels
The gunplay trees are the brain dead trees. The others require an IQ higher than your mod count. Also, the volcanic round tooltip literal says it deals skill damage. Skill damage is the stat you gain from anomoly power. Bit odd for a tooltip to say that for a skill that doesn't scale with anomoly power no?
The game has been out less than a week and you think all builds have been figured out? People gravitate to the quickest and easiest first. This applies to every thing in existence ever.
personally, i feel like on a VR build, the enemies dont survive long enough to become ashed. So i feel like ash is kinda of irrelevant, i did most of the same here, except my 4 points went into the middle tree, from the node going down where "when burn ends it inflicts ash", even though i dont use ash, i went down from there, to the right to snag 8% more damage to marked targets, and to the right one more, and the noteable down, where any skill trigger increases weapon damage. i have done that one, and this setup, but i honestly like the route i took a little better. The 8% increased to marked isnt much extra, but it i always use over heat so everyone is always marked, and the bonus to damage regardless of overheat or f2f imo is a little better. I dunno, maybe check it out for some testing. Both works great though, almost the same in all honesty. Although in the middle route, if your survivability is a little low but your damage is still off the charts, you can swap the 8% damage to marked enemies for 20% resistance for yourself.
When leveling, I initially was slightly disappointed unlocking vulcanic rounds, didn't sound too good. Then I however found a 80-clip rifle and decided to try it out, and been having a much easier time ever since Thx for the guide! Will definiatly try this out
Awesome video! One question though, if I am not using Ash blast and only volcanic rounds, do I need to put skill points into areas that improves ash? As far as my understanding burn and ash are completely different things right? Many thanks!
Feed the flames should be a must have with the mods that give 33% ammo back in the mag and one that allows you to grab 2 enemies pulls 66% ammo back meaning you don't reload couple that with an LMG so the fire ammo is effectively infinite
I just picked up a set piece that has the tier 3 mod that allows your fees the flames to effect 2 more targets total of 3 targets with the 33% ammo refill 1 feed the flames reatores 99% ammo.

Excellent video Loved the in-depth explanation of how to put the build together, from mods to skill tree I leveled up a trickster to 30 now I'm almost there on a Pyromancer at 28, and really just went down the middle tree with focusing more on survivability and anomaly That got me through to about level 24, this setup is getting me through the rest of the way, still need some of the mods listed in this video but without all of em it's still working nicely
it seems like all the best builds right now are centered around weapon damage, which means this game needs more balancing. when i was playing Mass Effect 3, or MEA, there were crazy ability builds and weapon builds. but now it seems like weapon build is the only way to go for high level enemies.
So I've been using the Wicker "Comes with legendary shots apply ash every 1second" mod. Not a fan of the gun, but I'm also not really able to keep up 100% volcanic uptime without perpetuum mobile mod. Maybe it's just my playstyle, but I kind of like applying Ash with virtually every bullet over relying on skills and simply waiting for burn to expire, which never will on some enemies (bosses and elites namely) if I'm consistently applying burn thanks to 100% uptime on volcanic rounds. I'm a bit confused how often Ash status actually happens if it only procs once burn runs out, but every bullet you shoot applies burn, ensuring anything you shoot consistently will never receive ash? I assume a lot of ash application with this build is entirely dependent on abilities in that case? Not sure if I should give up the Ash mod every 1s weap mod and rely on skills, or give up the 100% volcanic uptime via perpetuum mobile.
you have a skill that inflicts burn why run a mod that does the same thing you also have a node that causes ash and skills that applies it on demand so again why use those?
i love this build but i have a question, or more something that needs clarification. you said "anomoly power is useless" but anomoly power also applies to "status effects". and the volcanic rounds use "skill damage" which is under anomoly power... doesnt that mean that a higher anomoly power would mean volcanic rounds do more damage?
I should have read about what skills scale off what. I was building anomaly power for volcanic rounds. Going to switch to firepower as soon as I get back on
Pretty much most builds that deal high dps are using the ammo rounds skill I like what they've done but everyone is gonna be running the same stuff because it's so op there's no real point changing stats for any other playstyle
@@MoistKittens honestly I'm in end game now and still only somewhat viable solo anomaly builds require legendary gear sets. How do you get those most efficient way? Using blank rounds to get there then you can have fun. Games great build variety lackluster tho
Idk, wouldnt it be better to skill into Ignite tree combined with Tempest tree since Vulcanic Rounds scale with Skill Dmg AND you would lower its CD massively which would compensate the overall loss of a buff of weapon dmg without Ash Breaker tree?
Great overview of the class, I'm new to your channel but will be subbing for sure. My build was more or less the same but still learnt a few tips that have helped a lot! Thanks man and look forward to future videos :D
Thanks for the vid! I'd be curious to hear your thoughts about what I'd consider a variant of this. I've been going for a similar build, but using ash blast with the range mod, speccing into Hot Situation (and other sources of damage after immobilize or on ash), and using overheat with the consume ash mod. In effect you could ash everything in a massive radius, have massively increased damage on these targets, and insta-kill them all with overheat. That's what I've been doing. Now on tier 8 and level 19, so I'd be interested to hear if this holds up in later levels and tiers.
Are you sure that the damage of the volcanic rounds doesnt scale off of anomaly power , cause i built up a lot of it, and when i read the description it says anomaly power increases the damage delt by skills, and that is a skill🤔
Great video dude. As a newer player I haven't been able to craft much yet. But I'm curious as I'm running a similar build around the volcanic rounds, does extra mag stack? Say I put it on two pieces of gear does that mean I get 3 before cool down?
No i don't think so. Because the mods don't stack. When you choose a mod for your shoes for example it even tells you when you got the same mod on an other gear. It's indicated by a small red point on the upper right of the mod
I love the build but I keep waffling on whether or not to use ash blast or overheat. My only issue with overheat is I don't know if I am using it right. Should I be waiting to tag things with burn before popping it or just pop it for the damage boost and call it a day? If I went the ash blast route I could pick up 2 cd reduction nodes so that would be nice and the weapon leech would also be pretty decent but the low range compared to overheat is painfully noticable.
Have you tired the bullet absorber mod son feed the flames fills your mag up 33% per target feed the flames used on so with flame grasper a 99% refill and you don’t have to run the crit mods to keep ammo up
Hey man, hope you can help me out a bit on this. I noticed when I'm in expedition 15, I'm only hitting around 100mil damage whereas my mates are hitting like 175mil damage. Is this more of a starter build or is there more powerful builds to be had for the pyro?

That got me through to about level 24, this setup is getting me through the rest of the way, still need some of the mods listed in this video but without all of em it's still working nicely
it seems like all the best builds right now are centered around weapon damage, which means this game needs more balancing. when i was playing Mass Effect 3, or MEA, there were crazy ability builds and weapon builds. but now it seems like weapon build is the only way to go for high level enemies.
Pyromancer slaps bro. Easily one of the best classes after a solid build like this one👍
super informative video, this helped me with my pyro build a ton! looking forward to seeing more of your videos *Subscribed*
Bro just tried your skill tree and skills omg so awesome!
Nice video thank's, leveling a pyromancer atm
Deffo sub from me, great build, super nice guide to everything, and finally....someone.showing pyro some love :) GG man keep it up :)
This channel just picks top row every class. Definitely not the best guide.
@@MadelineMysterious Really ? What pyromancer leveling guide do you think is better ?
10/10 Build ty for the guide
What's your opinion on the mods that make your enemies hit with bullets to inflict fire or the ash one
you have a skill that inflicts burn why run a mod that does the same thing you also have a node that causes ash and skills that applies it on demand so again why use those?
Great video man
i love this build but i have a question, or more something that needs clarification. you said "anomoly power is useless" but anomoly power also applies to "status effects". and the volcanic rounds use "skill damage" which is under anomoly power... doesnt that mean that a higher anomoly power would mean volcanic rounds do more damage?
Bro thank you this build is awesome
Please make another vid at full build! Good content. 5stars.
really enjoying this and your trickster builds revolving around the status rounds they offer 😁
mix that with the infinite ammo and the up time on twisted rounds will be godly
I should have read about what skills scale off what. I was building anomaly power for volcanic rounds. Going to switch to firepower as soon as I get back on
Pretty much most builds that deal high dps are using the ammo rounds skill I like what they've done but everyone is gonna be running the same stuff because it's so op there's no real point changing stats for any other playstyle
i wish there was morew viable builds in endgame then *blank* rounds. hope they buff some of the anomly abilities cause each class feels the same
100% agree, was cruising through using them, decided to switch it up, now I can't do anything. It's pretty pathetic.
You would lose a lot of damage due to the loss of skills in top row that increase marked damage
Very helpful
Great video dude. As a newer player I haven't been able to craft much yet. But I'm curious as I'm running a similar build around the volcanic rounds, does extra mag stack? Say I put it on two pieces of gear does that mean I get 3 before cool down?
No i don't think so. Because the mods don't stack. When you choose a mod for your shoes for example it even tells you when you got the same mod on an other gear. It's indicated by a small red point on the upper right of the mod
Does this work well on solo? Especially for bosses?
Thanks gor the vid. I use the same skills. I have been trying to find a way to stop dying so fast.
Thanks for the build
I love the build but I keep waffling on whether or not to use ash blast or overheat. My only issue with overheat is I don't know if I am using it right. Should I be waiting to tag things with burn before popping it or just pop it for the damage boost and call it a day? If I went the ash blast route I could pick up 2 cd reduction nodes so that would be nice and the weapon leech would also be pretty decent but the low range compared to overheat is painfully noticable.
I feel like the ammo powers are too strong or other skills too weak. Basically every “end game” build revolves around one of those.
Exactly exept for devastator 🤦🏾♂️
we are shit just because we dont have this little bullet buff
They’ll likely get adjusted
Is this build still good and also what stats/mods on boots?
Is this still viable after the recent nerf to the rounds?
Have you tired the bullet absorber mod son feed the flames fills your mag up 33% per target feed the flames used on so with flame grasper a 99% refill and you don’t have to run the crit mods to keep ammo up
does burning an enemy considered marking the enemy?
Definitely subbed.
Ash Blast is a must in my opinion for this path.
Too long cooldown, overheat does the same thing when there's a ton of fire effects
I just put imrove bleed on my weapon so its more consistent on trigerin the vampire mag
Think id rather use ash blast rather than overheat. Ash blast really pulls in the clutch for CC
Having the hardest time levelling my Pyro. Only play solo, lol it's rough.
Hey man, hope you can help me out a bit on this. I noticed when I'm in expedition 15, I'm only hitting around 100mil damage whereas my mates are hitting like 175mil damage. Is this more of a starter build or is there more powerful builds to be had for the pyro?
Great Build!
Super helpful thanks dude
great build, really enjoying playing it. thank for the video
take your camera window off or moves to top left corner for your videos pls
Great guide, thank you
