I haven't read The Wizard of Oz yet but also dying for your edition. The China ornament story is just so you! Hearing you talk about it brings back fond memories of reading Mary Poppins for the Tay bookclub - remember the cow 😂
I've read all 14 of Baum's Oz books, a couple of times. The first time I read the first book I was 13 or 14 and I immediately started reading the other books in the series. At that time I only read the first 6 books or so. I got stuck on the 7th one. I tater was able to read all 14. I maybe wouldn't read all of the books. The second and third books, The Marvelous Land of Oz and Ozma of Oz, are the best after the first (I might actually like the second more than the first, I really like the protagonist of that book). The sixth book, Emerald City of Oz, is really good too, as is the 13th book, The Lost Princess of Oz. Rinkatink in Oz is my least favorite of the series. It has nothing to do with Oz until the very end. I'm pretty sure he had written it as a non Oz book, but then decided to make it an Oz book at the end so it would sell better as his non-Oz books didn't sell as well.

Thank you, I will take your advice on the ones you liked and give them a read as I probably wont want to read all 14.
The Muppet version and Little Fox versions have the most scenes from the book.
I'll have to give them a watch!
