I was going to say the same thing. Almost takes away from the riding a little. Pat is definitely world class!
The editing skills were all-time....seriously some gifted people using cutting edge techniques but i'm with you that it's a bit too much. The editing should not be the subject of the video...

i've learned since yesterday. this was filmed and funded to be a tv ad on nbc. that makes the filming/editing style make more sense to appeal to those outside the sport of bmx who just happen to be watching supercross. maybe we just need an edit similar to the one enarson and rigal did last year. mcperry is very talented at what he does, even though i'm not the target demographic this time around.

Everyone's talking about how great the riding was, but I just wanna know about the people behind the scenes here. That was possibly the greatest editing and camera work I've ever seen. I can't express how much I want to see a pro street rider with an edit this well done. Incredible work, and incredible riding. I wouldn't be surprised if this video changes the edit game.
I do have to say though there was some obvious padding for time with the double shots.

It was creative yes but it RUINED the edit for me and evidently a lot of others too. Pats one of the best park and dirt riders in the world and you could barely enjoy most of the crazy stuff he did in this because of the whacky over the top filming and editing

The over the top filming and editing really got in the way of the amazing riding and mental ramp set up. Should put out a raw cut of just the riding with no daft editing tricks

Amazing riding. This video is the equivalent of a song that is a nonstop guitar solo. Videos can be viewed like music, they can be composed with visual melodies that flow from lows to highs to mediums etc. This was high speed chaos start to finish. Each effect was amazing, but added all together and it's just not as beautifully composed.
What the videographers accomplished requires serious talent though!! Big time!! Just perhaps too much chaos to really soak in the riding to its potential.
Still pumped as hell on this!!
