Thanks for this video. Now I can remember a bit with those number in Hawaiian😍. My family & I just came back from our trip in Hawaii .(Aulani, Oahu).. so fascinating to read those street names of the North shore's and highways along the way. Also, what thrilled me to read and what I found the word when I was looking a restroom in the airports . For woman 😍🚻Wahene🚺. This, I won't forget because it reminds me of my old time friend's name' Wahene" back home.😁😃Mahalo🌺
Yes, 'a'ohe and 'a'ole are definitely coming from that same root word 'ole. And you can see the relationship, with both having this meaning of "no" or "none". Thanks for watching!
Thanks for pointing out the lack of okinas. Thats something I know will be a bit difficult is not inserting an okina at the beginning of a word starting with a vowel.
Yes, when it's the very beginning of your sentence or reply, it a little hard to hear the difference between vowel with 'okina and vowel without okina.
Is haven't had the chance yet, check out my video on the months: ua-cam.com/video/N1l_j4bYDNg/v-deo.html. At the end, I go through how to say a date of the month. In short, for dates 1-9, you'll use the version with the 'e pre-fix, but the video explains the full phrase and word order when saying a date.
I love these videos. I'm trying to learn the Hawaiian language and they're so helpful. Thank you for posting these
I’m 12 and I’ve learned many beautiful languages from around the world! One of them was Sāmoan and the numbers are so similar!

Oh, I have a question: How do you use the numbers for the date - e.g. when you want to say the date of the month or birthday etc?
