First of all, this arcade game reminds me of the old Amiga games BATTLE SQUADRON and HYBRIS. Both of them are still the legendary classic games 😺👍🕹️🕹️. Second of all, thank you, AL82, for sharing the old retrospective longplay videos of the Commodore 64 and Amiga games 😺👍🕹️. And third of all, happy new retrospective year 2023 from Martinlaakso, Vantaa (Finland 🇫🇮) to all of you fellow retro gamers from around the world 😺👍🕹️. COMMODORE 64 AND AMIGA FOREVER 😺👍🕹️!
Hello Al82, Wishing you and your love ones a Happy New Year to you kind sir. Thank you for posting your excellent videos you provide for the community and a special thank you for accepting my request for you to play and share for the viewers to enjoy my good man. 8^) Anthony...
Thanks for showing this game, I’d never heard of it. Everyone seems to be comparing it unfavourably with Raiden but I love most games of this style from the early nineties with a variety of power-ups and before bullet hell started to take over. Mad Shark is similar, and another I enjoy even though it’s not well known. Happy New Year!

So I see a few influences so far. Raiden, as others have said, but that flying wing boss comes straight out of Konami’s Lightning Fighters. It had the same overhead flight before you get to the actual fight. And I don’t know what they were thinking with the music, but if you’re going to rip something off, why the heck would you pick 1942? I don’t know anyone who enjoys shmups that’s ever said anything positive about that game’s “soundtrack.” And Sand Scorpion apes it a little too well. EDIT: I just realized that sound isn’t the music but the weapons! Good lord this game is not my cup of tea at all.

Same to you!
"Can we get Raiden?" "We have Raiden at home."

This is what River Raid would have looked like on steroids, or what it should have been... 🍻
"They don't call us the Sand Scorpions for nothing." "They call them that because they're small, unpleasant and rather poisonous." "Shut up Eddie."

Why does the white item carrier early on look like something from the old animu genesis climber mospeada?
Seems to be a strange shimmer effect at the bottom of the video.
I'm viewing on an lg oled

How interesting
👍👍💖💖🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟😁😁😁.nice video bro...
Looks like an unbalanced Raiden with a touch of Atlus/Cave.
It could have been really fun if the enemies had less health and the weapons were more powerful
🎄
A beginner's Raiden.
Raiden in Ohio Be like
Seems well made but the enemy designs were a little boring.
Looks like a bootleg version of Raiden. The music is very generic and the enemy design has that been there done that kind of look to them.
I guess a game could be considered obscure when there's no entry for it in UA-cam's gaming database, which is the case for Sand Scorpion
This has totally _not a bootleg_ of Raiden, and the soundchip is provided by Yamaha YM2203 OPN.

this one looks rather bland, squalid, uninspiring... However your channel is the best
