I can recall a time when these were my favorite brand of potato chips. I loved the ‘distinct’ crunch these had. In addition to Giant Eagle, we would buy this brand of chips at a store called Marc’s. Marc’s is another popular grocery store we have here in Ohio.
$1.99 is still a good value. It's the same price as Lidl brand kettle chips (same size). My mom buys a bag or two of the plain ones for when family comes over.
shearers's is a fun stop when in ohio amish country, brewster is about 20 minutes away...they have really great deals at their little store on overruns etc and a lot of different unusually flavors..thx marie from canada
A couple years ago a news article came out saying that new ownership and that the Shearers brand was going to disappear and they would be contracting for other snack makers. I saw a couple months ago that they were acquired by an private equity company...I wonder if they ever went away and are now reintroduced. I used to love them. I'd go to Dayton and get their Mexican chips years ago...I think succeeded by Jalapeno. They also had Shearer's Selects which were fantastic but fried in Soybean Oil so those went away years ago.
Shearer's no longer makes potato chips, that's probably why they were at Big Lots. I was sad when I heard they were shutting down because I loved their chips, and pretzels !!!
Original & Seal Salt & Pepper I would try. I love a good kettle chip! We don't have many to choose from here, so I usually get my fix in the States but I am an odd one because I actually like them when they are harder than the rest 🤭 Not sure why... but I do
Wow what a good value for the chips. I’m going for jalapeño and salt and black pepper flavor all day. I rarely get to Big Lots but I will definitely look out for them. Great review
All three sound wonderful but the jalapeño and possibly the black pepper would be spicy n hot for me. Too bad. Thanks for a great review. Have a great day.😊😊
I can actually handle black pepper heat. I think those sound delicious. The Original sounds good, but I agree, it sounds like they need more salt. I don’t want a plain chip. I haven’t seen these, but I never make it over to Big Lots often either. Great review.
We went in yesterday and I was amazed at the Christmas mixes and Elf On The Shelf cereals - they had two kinds! I know they are still good; it’s just jarring to see them in April 😄

I'm so glad you like them :)
Big Lots is also headquartered in Ohio(Columbus). I sometimes find Conn's chips there. Conn's is out of Zanesville, OH.
We never find ourselves in big lots but these may be worth a trip. Good price and seemingly good quality
We were just there yesterday and they were totally sold out of these at our location.
They sound good
Thank you 😊
Those Sea Salt and Pepper chips sound really good.
These sound really good but out of this selection I’d go for the original. Thanks for the review.
No problem!
I think I’d pick the original flavor out of these three.

I had no idea! That's a shame.
