- Dario Hübner, born 28 April 1967 in Trieste (Italy). 143 games and 74 goals in Serie A, playing as striker with Brescia, Piacenza, Ancona and Perugia. From 1997 to 2004 he played 5 Serie A seasons, being 2001/02 Serie A Topscorer, the oldest player to win it (aged 35); this record was later broken by Luca Toni in 2015.
Along with Igor Protti, Hübner is the only player to have won the top scoring titles in Serie A, Serie B, and Serie C1.

Segnava a raffica in stagioni in cui le difese dominavano e si segnavano raramente più di 18/20 gol a giornata. Rigori, punizioni, tocchi raffinati ma soprattutto tanto senso del gol e cattiveria agonistica.
Ai tempi lo chiamavo il BOMBER DEI POVERI, ma solo perchè ha segnato raffiche di gol sempre e solo in squadre di provincia...Darione Hubner non si dimentica

this guy had every credential to play on the 2002 world cup team.
He was close to make it, but from 1990 to 2006 Italy had the best strikers in the world, very difficult to play in National Team. Even Roberto Baggio was not selected in 2002...
I agree it would ve been a dream to win the world cup with a striker who made his debut in serie a at 30 while always playing in serie b and serie c
AngrierGorilla yeah but he had the most goals that year he also had much weaker team supporting him than vieri and Del Piero. He was the absolute best option. Hubner + vieri up top would have been too good even when up against corrupt officials.

Giovanni Aj agreed. I believe he could have made a big difference in the World Cup for Germany vs Brazil. He was so good and would have made positive impact on whatever team he was on.

Perchè non lo hanno convocato nel Mondiale del 2002 ?
Perchè era un ragazzo poco pubblicizzato e non giocava in una big. Vedere oggi in nazionale Joao Pedro, con tutto il rispetto per il ragazzo, a quei tempi sarebbe stata una follia. Protti, Hubner, Lucarelli, Di Napoli, Negri, Zampagna, Di Michele, Tavano, Maccarone, Grandi attaccanti ma sfortunati nel venire fuori in una generazione d'oro.
Verissimo Darione i mondiali 02 li meritava come miglior marcatore e pure Zampagna fù miglior marcatore nel 2006 ma niente mondiale
