Scuffham Amps S-GEAR - Demo

- This is my demo of Scuffham Amps S-Gear. That's one of the best sounding guitar amp plugins on the market. It combines five classic tube amps, a fantastic sounding effects rack, and a host of cabinet selections in a single plugin for AAX, AU, and VST.
Special thanks to Schuffham Amps

Wow! Really Good demo!!! This is exactly waht you can do with S-Gear
Thanks! Cheers
3 years later and I still come back to hear this demo. I still don’t think there’s anything else that beats Scuffham. And that ‘Run like hell’ riff..... ❤️
Thanks! Yeah in my opinion the S-Gear is still one of the best guitar plugin in the market. That's my number one choice
Guys, i own all the amp sims..The free ones plus amplitube 4, bias, TH3....
S-gear is the best of all. Why? Its clean as hell, its also not noisy at all, its tigth as hell and its the one that feels right when you play it..Like a real amp.
For clean tones and rock tones they are way ahead of the competition..
For metal tones, at first you will think it suck but you need to tweek it: Add a tube screamer in front, choose the wayferer amp(mesa)Use modern 4x12(the last one) and use the eq in v shape..
Put the bass midlle treble knobs pretty high..You can even add another eq in your chain to boost trebles and also put high pass lopass filter.
Dont use to much gain on the amp but use all the boosts knobs. What you will get is a super tight, alive, crunchy tone ala 'black album'.
@Greg Walker No. The comment was talking about getting a specific type of tone, since S-Gear is not specialized for more high gain stuff. You can get free Tubescreamer emulation plugins, e.g. the TSE808. But even without, you can get pretty close.
I want to throw in that Scuffham Amps has an outstanding support. Eg: I had to hard reset my PC and therefore my license was gone. I received an answer per email just 3 hours later with my serial. I bought SGears in 2016! The Forum and community is just as great!
Wow what a great S-Gear demo. I already have this and thanks for showing the settings which really help.
Best S-Gear demo on UTube. The added settings images are a real bonus. A great amp sim.
Thanks man!
S-Gear is just incredible. I'm am using it with Reason 9.5 and it is flawless. Important: Connect it to a full range speaker system PA, and you will be blow away.
Thank you for such a great demo - and superb playing.
It was demos like this that got me going with the S-gear. Love this amp. Keep up the good work, Claudio!
Thank you very much! Cheers
Fantastic demo and song choice! Great sounding software🤘
Great demo. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome demo and great playing!
Excellent playing and tone. Been using S-Gear for a few years and have yet found anything that equals it.
Great tone dude and awesome playing!
Thanks man!
The best S-gear demo on the web! Thanks!
Thank you! Cheers
After going through several S-Gear so called demos I can tell you that one of your greatest contribution is to hear the s-gear amp setup playing a song. That gives us (newbies) hope and a goal to try it. I can just tweak the amp knobs the whole day but get me nowhere. Please create more even if just short to capture the song, tone and setup. Thanks again for sharing you great talent.
Thanks so much! Cheers
Those are some mean chops fella - great product, great playing, great demo.
Thanks man! Cheers
fantastic review dude. straight to it kick ass tones. kick ass playing. love it. subscribed.
+Paul Kixx Thanks man! Cheers
Aweeeeeesome demo! Thanks a lot))
Great tunes to show the versatility. Can't miss with VR.
Great demo!
i like it man! nice job! so thumbs up for you
Não conhecia este software! Muito fixe! Está muito à maneira o video. Parabéns!
Obrigado.
I love that Tele
Maravilha de demo! E linda sala minimalista tb.
Sounds amazing. Really great. Very nice video too btw 👍
Thanks!
Fantastic demo! Impressive! I've had the demo for a few days, and it's gonna be a buy. I've tried so much different guitar software, and none of it comes close - particular regarding the feeling of playing with it. This feels so real. Only thing i kinda want, are a few more effects, particularly tape echo and tremolo :)
Thanks! S-Gear it's a really nice piece of software
Super sound! 👍👍👍
Impressive ! Well done !
Thanks!
Good lord, this plugin sounds good. It's literally the only one that has some sounds that fool me. The best I've heard personally prior to this was TH3, and even that was only very good. S-Gear is great.
Great demo of a great plugin! Keep up the good work!
+Dmitry Returns Thanks!
Great job
I would love to know which patch you used for Gary Moore's 'Still got the Blues'. Great playing and video, brother. I love this Scuffman Amps for my DAW! Beats everything I have used including Helix Native.
Fantastic demo! S-Gear is so versatile, even with only five amps.
Jon Stratford yeah that’s why plan to purchase one.. I’d rather have 3 good sounding amp & effects than hundreds to choose from that won’t sound good in the end. How’s your experience with S-Gear?
Absolutely. No need for hundreds of useless amps and effects. Just a few real sounding amps that inspire you to play well. S-Gear does that the best.
Get that cranked amp sound through headphones. It's indispensable. Off to play now!
Hello. Listen to demo, great sound, I'm a total fan of both vintage guitars and s-gear. I could see that you have replaced the humbuckers of vintage, which brand and model are the ones you have mounted?, They sound great !!. If you allow me another question, I would like to know what hardware you have used (interface, Preamp, DI, etc ...) in the complete signal chain from the guitar to the S-Gear. I congratulate you for your style!
I've been looking for a good amp sim to buy and I have to say based on these videos S-gear blows everything out of the water. Crazy good.
Hola.
Somzão do caralho meu irmão!!!!
Didn't realize how much I missed Audioslave
Hey nice video!! Would you mind sharing how you are able to record this live demo? I've been going nuts trying to figure out how to do screen recordings inside my DAW using S-Gear. I've tried Voicemeeter, OBS, etc...I haven't been able to figure out the solution 😫
Hi, in this one i think i recorded the screen with quicktime. I use a MAC. what's you issue with the recording?
@@CSantosMusic hey thanks for the reply. I am on a PC, but I did end up finding someone that had the solution for me. It was a pain to get set up, but it's working now 😀
I'm impressed with the S-Gear, especially the Still Got the Blues section, very convincing! So, I really dig this but find Axe FX and Kemper not as exciting. Am I weird?
I like it!
Great demo and playing! BTW, I like the shirt..I work in St. Petersburg :-)
Thanks Man! Greetings from Portugal ;)
I got really distracted by all the pictures on the wall :-) More seriously you did a very good job demonstrating the product.
Great demo. S Gear doesn't have a "pedal board" but I use Guitar Rig or Amplitube pedals, combining it with S Gear Amps, great tones!
I own GR 6 and AT 5 too. How do you connect these to S GEAR?
@@SjaakShirly6559, basically you load the Guitar Rig plug in in the channel strip before S Gear, and in GR you only put pedals and effects. That will send the wet signal to the S Gear amps.
@@axel.lessio okay! Thank you very much! I will definitely try this way!!!
hells yes
Gran demo bro!
Gracias!
Man! You play a mean guitar
Thank you! Cheers
Hi Claudio, I'm just listening your demo with headphones and it sounds fantastic.
If I play my own guitar and I will install s-gear, does the software sounds identical to your video, if I play only with headphones ?
And which Interface can you recommend for iMac ?
I had an Apogee Element 24 for testing with AmpliTube and Guitar Rig 5 - but the sound is far away from yours. Can you help me ?
Thank you for an answer - best regards - Jens
Hi, i used a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 in this video and the sound you hear it's the sound i get thru my studio monitors. Your Apogee should get you similar sound quality. Best Regards.
Sound amazing! I'm still on the fence myself between Bias FX, S-Gear ,TH3 and Amplitube. What's the song at 2:30 btw?
The song is "Still got the blues" by Gary Moore
Obrigado.
Wow. Scuffham should have paid you good for this one cause you must have sold so many people on this plugin. It really is amazing. It’s perfect for recording. I’m curious how it would hold up in a live situation, through a house PA. Would it be lacking the “umph” factor of a real valve amp? I’ll be experimenting...
Thanks man! Cheers
Dá pra usar ao vivo?
Great review...So is Schuffham so good as it seems??
Thanks! S-Gear doesn't have all that effects like the other plugins but for me it's maybe the best amp sim on the market. I love the way it reacts to the playing dynamics.
Ok...it sounded great on the Floyd one!! ;)
Just goes to show how a GREAT amp sim and an excellent player can make an inexpensive guitar rock the house. :)
A little misleading in that the stereo field you affect during recording is not what the S-Gear is doing. You have the guitar sound spread across the stereo field. Did you double your tracks and pan left and right with a bit of delay in one side?
Very nice playing, sounds great! Whats the name of that second song? It's really familiar but I can't place the name! Thanks :)
Thanks! it's "Waiting on the world to change" by John Mayer
Awesome playing and awesome groove! That first song my god that riff.. my taste deluxe :-) What song is that?.. Trying to find these kind of drums to jam with.. working with Ez drummer and try to find something in the near of that drumgroove. Any suggestion of drums usable for that kind of riff/music?
The first song is "Cochise" by Audioslave. EZ drummer has some nice drumgrooves too to play with.
Cláudio Santos Thanks alot for ur fast reply. Im gonna try to figure out settings on my scuffham map for the audioslave song. It sounded like rage against and audioslave is the same guys almost 😊👍🏻. ❤️
Awesome video man, thanks. I've been using Bias FX since it came out but have recently struggled to find the tone I like within it. So I've been looking around and the more I hear it, the more it sound like S-gear is the one for me. :)
Thanks! Yeah this thing sounds really awesome.
Vc tem o dom de timbrar!!!! Pirei! Qual captador é na tele? Fender?
Where can I dowload and install???
That Vintage sounds awesome! Which model is it and what's the neck profile like? I have a Vintage Thomas Blug Strat, such good guitars for not much money.
Vintage guitars are really good for it's price no doubt. This one it's a V100 TSB
Cláudio Santos I’ll check it out. Finally bought S Gear last night, not had a chance to look at it yet as have gone back to work today. Very bad timing, why didn’t i get it three months ago?
Wow! That sounded really nice.
What audio interface were you using?
Thanks! i used the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2
@@CSantosMusic Do you plug in the guitar directly to the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2?
@@stevebrown6154 Yes
@@CSantosMusic Thanks for the reply and great guitar playing! Just another question, do you use any pre-amps or DI boxes? It's a great tone. I'm just surprised that S gear can offer so much. Thanks!
@@stevebrown6154 I don't use anything else, just the audio interface. For me the S-Gear is the best amp sim plugin in the market, especially for clean/overdriven tones.
Do you record the output of S-gear or do you just load it in to the track in your daw? Heard it sounds different standalone vs daw even with same settings. Do you notice anything?
I used the plugin into my daw. I didn't notice any difference in sound
Claudio...I noticed on the bottom right corner of the amp pics your inputs and outputs are really cranked. I cannot figure out how to get me levels up. I've tried a bunch of guitars with stock pickups and even stacked humbuckers. I cannot get my input/out put anywhere near yours. What's the trick??
Hi, what audio interface are you using? maybe has to do with the low gain of it.
nice nice playing nice guitar nice sounds But is it compatible with studio 1 ?
Thanks! Yeah i think you can use S-Gear with studio 1
Definitely works in Studio One. I use it on my computer with Studio One, no issues.
What's the song at 1:36? I recognise it so much.
Run like Hell by Pink Floyd
You have experience with Rocktron rack (Intellifex/ Xpressions, etc..) I have S-Gear already but thinking if old (80-90’s) rack can compete? if worth spend $100 for old racks?
Sorry, i don't have experience with Rocktron
I had an intellifex. Might be fun to play with for $100. I liked it and used it with a JMP-1.
Hi Claudio. Great demo, it certainly helped me to decide to purchase the S-Gear. Could you tell me which preset your using for the first track ?. Cheers :-)
Thanks! in the first track i used the Plexmonster preset with some minor tweeks. Cheers
Thanks :-)
I have S-Gear from the Slate Everything Bundle, and I'm having such a hard time getting it to sound nice. I have a pretty decent guitar, and I've been through a lot of the settings, but the harder sounds never sound as good as this. Gah, guess I'll have to tweak some stuff. Nice demo!
thechannelitrollwith any joy? Sounds like me too. Got some settings I've found I'll try later though.
New to Scuffham - are these plugins complete rigs or just amp sims? Thanks, it all sounds great.
Hi, S-Gear it's a complete rig.
@@CSantosMusic Ah ok thanks.
What are you using to plug in to your computer. Are you using a D.I. box into a mixer or just a regular interface?
I used a Focusrite Scarlett audio interface
Playing same software, same presets, same Les Paul guitar tyoe, your tone is twice as good on steroids, i love how good guitars sound when you upload videos to youtube, llol
Thanks!
Awesome demo. S-gear can also be demo'd free for 15 days before you decide to buy it!
Anyone knows the song that begins at 2:30?
Got it by the way.. It's "still got the blues" by Gary Moore!
Can someone please tell me the song that starts at 0:56? Good playing :)
Thanks! That's "Waiting on the world to change" by John Mayer
I thought S Gear wasn’t thought to do high gain that well? I just got the demo and the wayfarer is just light years ahead of anything I’ve heard from modelling. A complete quantum leap above guitar rig etc imho
Yep i agree
Great demo. What's the first track? I'm kicking myself because I'm sure I know it!
Thanks! That's "Cochise" by Audioslave
Of course, thanks! I thought it was Soundgarden, so not too far off!
Claudio I am in the process of setting up my home recording. Trying to decide which amp sim software to go with. I am between S-Gear and Bias. What is your perspective. S-Gear sounds fantastic on your video.
Hi, to my experience Bias sounds a little muddy and dark compared with S-Gear. Also i think S-gear is more responsive to the playing dynamics and sound more natural. Maybe Bias is more versatile because of the ton of pedal effects but i'd go with S-Gear for good amp sims. Good Luck
i own both plugins man but i recommend you to get the s-gear plugin.
Claudio I purchased S-Gear a couple of weeks ago. It is fantastic! I also bought some IR's but I am having trouble getting them loaded into S-Gear.
what's the issue with it?
What’s that rock song in the end?
"Slither" by Velvet Revolver
Which preset was used for the first song?
I used the Plexmonster preset with some minor tweeks
MNR SYN hey 👋🏻 ,can I please ask you ,i am about to buy an amp and I was going to spend about 600$ for the katana artist.but the truth is that all I will be playing would be in my study in one place, would it make more sense to put my money in good studio monitors, and some good vst guitar software? Or would an amp always be better? (The amp would also have the option of recording straight in to the computer).... im just not sure if it is necessary to buy the amp if all I’ll be playing is in one place..... ? Any help would really really be appreciated:))
Hi, i would say that a nice amp is always better to play, but the plugins have it's own advantages too.
If the main purpose is to record some songs or ideas the software can get you more variety of tones as you'll have the sound of various amps and effects in one place. If later you want to play live you'll be better with an amp. Cheers
Cláudio Santos hey thanks so much for the reply! 😊
É mais plug and play.
Nice, what song is at @1:37?
That's "Run like Hell" by Pink Floyd
Hello! What a song sounds from 1 minute 36 seconds
"Run Like Hell" by Pink Floyd
What interface are you using.
I used the Focusrite Scarlett 2i4
what kind of pickups are those sweet video
Are you talking about the tele or the les paul?
Both. They sound incredible. What are they? Thanks!
Both guitars got the stock pickups. The les paul has the wilkinson ones and the tele has the original vintage style
I have Guitar Rig 5 and Bias Amp Pro, but when I evaluated Scuffham S-gear just over the weekend, I can't get the same sounds as S-gear! It just seems to be a better system overall. I was thinking of trying the Bias Amp FX, but the demo is shit. So I'm not sure I could get the same feature set as S-gear & don't want to risk buying another guitar sim that doesn't meet my needs. With the full eval of S-gear to play with, I'm pretty sure it's all I need.
BiasFX can really rock, too. The secrets lie not only in the clarity of the tones (which Scuff has nailed), but in creating a stereo field by either using a stereo modulation effect or panning different cabs left and right.
They should pay you.
No matter how I tried I can never get that same sustain as in "still got the blues", and I use "Stadium shred" just as in the demo!
I am wondering if it has to do with the guitar, I have an SE Custom PRS. Or if there is something else in the chain of your setup?
Hi, there's nothing more in the chain. Just the guitar straight to the audio interface. The lack of sustain you talk about could be due to various reasons. The pickups in this guitar have high output wich helps a lot for the sustain, also how is the setup of your PRS? if you have a very low action for example you could end having some fret buzz blocking the string to vibrate. Anyway PRS are great guitars and you should get that sustain.
Thanks a lot for your reply. I know this is an old video 👍.
Will try more to fix this.
Sorry, buddy, but that is definitely not correct. These are super polished in-the-mix tracks. I can hear added EQ, tape machine, possibly compression and other polishes in each of your tracks. The pure S-Gear sound is much poorer. It would be nice if you wrote which plugins did you use to polish the sound in the mix, otherwise it is a bit deceiving, since everybody can hear the sound is different with the plugin on its own. Also, that Vintage LP clone comes with gold-covered Wilkinsons, yours are uncovered and each is different, suggesting that the pickups are not stock as you mentioned elsewhere. Please correct your statements, thx
I have this vst plugin, i really recommend it to you guys,, yo could play whatever you want,,
Also you can add some more fx after in the fx chain🤟🏻😎✌🏻🎸🥁🎛
