These two taught me to read and do math. This episode aired the month I started kindergarten and it had almost been cancelled just two months before on my birthday! Forget Sesame Street, Wheel of Fortune is the show to watch!
I remember Chuck was the host of Scrabble, Love Connection, Greed, and Lingo, he was a great host! may he RIP, I wasn't even born yet when he hosted Wheel of Fortune
Chuck really was a terrific host. Thought it was funny how he took a few seconds to explain how putting money on account worked -- since it happened so seldom, even though it was mentioned multiple times per show.
I'm here on Chuck's recent passing. May he rest in peace. He's now reunited with his son Chad who was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1986 (the year I was born), and beloved announcers Jack Clark and Charlie O'Donnell. RIP Chuck Woolery!
And since Jack Clark is hosting, this happened after the potential cancellation, as Charlie O'Donnell sought work with Barry/Enright after the announcement.

("Sesame Street" ain't got NOTHING on "Wheel")
Another one of my childhood icons gone. I remember watching reruns of Scrabble on USA everyday after school. Chuck was one of the best. Rest in peace.
