After graduation from college my wife and I moved six states away so that I could do masters study at another university. The whole time we lived there I had people coming up to me, at least once or twice a month, talking to me as if they knew me. They were shocked when I told them my name, and even had to show some my ID as they thought I was their friend just messing around with them. They said even the sound of my voice and accent were the same. I never did get to meet my doppelganger there.

You could do a ‘reunited’ prank.
Similar scenario to this but during the conversation at the end ask where the other is from originally. One of you could say ‘I don’t know, I’m adopted. All I know is my mother was called Anne’ then act like you suddenly realise that you are long lost identical twins…
I think it goes a bit too far emotionally, you could have people genuinely crying and it's just not funny these stories how it happens (abduction, hospital "mistakes", etc)
but hey, it's my 2 cents

Quite literally had a middle age woman walk up to me while I was on shift doing Security at a store & she told me that I was a spitting image of her "Ex" Husband who, during that time, had been dead for several years already. She looked at me like she saw a ghost 👻 & almost started to cry. While at the same job still doing Security, I had several people walk up to me & mistake me for someone else because I supposedly "looked like them". At this point, I'm already fully aware that I have more than a handful of doppelgangers who live within close proximity of me. Can't imagine how many more I have worldwide on a global scale! 😬🙄😳🤔😵
