As kids growing up in Santa Barbara in the 60’s & 70’s this was one of our favorite Montecito estates to sneak into as well as many others. It was a right of passage on a dare!
I grew up there in the 60s - 1990 . My grandmother was a house keeper in the Monticito mansion that Oprah Winfrey bought. I was raised surfing all over had a great childhood. Unfortunately I couldn't afford to live there or own a house to have a family. I moves 700 miles away . Only my sister is still living there. My parents and grandma passed away. Beautiful place. Santa Barbara, Summerland and Carpinteria were all beautiful places. I didn't realize how lucky I was then.
Stunning, what an oasis!
Can you do a more in depth story on your subjects in stead of just skimming the surface! What a beautiful place

Why so short? I want more!!!
This was the introduction only.
This is not an exploration of El Fureidis. The editor cut that out completely. Whoever edited this segment ought to be fired for incompetence.
And for the record, this is not the first time there has been very poor editing on this program.
its called equity =lowered standards
Eighteen silent movies were filmed at this estate between 1911 and 1920. A number of the movies were made by studios who traveled here from the LA-Hollywood area.
breathtaking 👊🥂
What happened to the second story of the house
Can you visit this estate? I am going to Santa Barbara in late May and would love to tour this home
It was considered a white elephant in the 1950s and sold for $35,000! The huge specimen tress were sold and trucked off to Disneyland, where they can still be seen.
Tony Montanas house :) on the market again as of March 2022
I think that Scarface wedding clip was cut from the film?😊
Nope.
@@lewstone5430 Thanks for info, you must be an expert on Scarface. Do you know the name of the Hotel on Miami Beach where that great scene of Manny getting slapped at the pool was filmed. Was it the Eden Roc?
It's haunted. You wont have a peaceful night of sleep there. A Russian Oligarch had to get out of there...Russian oligarch
