There is a painting technique called drybrushing where you rub off most of the paint on some kitchen roll then paint it on. I feel like it would be easier to control
Ok tips: The brush she has is waay shorter. She couldn't have cut it bc then she d lose the texture so i think she bought the one with shorter hairs. Edit: Also hers look like she let it dry and applied another coat so she can get the hairs of the brush to be stiffer and seperated. The application method is almost at a 90⁰ angle
The brush definitely looks more stiff. I thought it was one of those from the ads or commercials with those brushes that I’ve seen. Wish I could describe it better but can’t. Sorry
Maybe it's like a dry brushing technique. Where you wipe off the bulk of the product on another surface and use the remnants of what's on the bristles to make the effect.
Can I just tell you… I think you’re freakin hilarious and adorable and sparkly!!!! Yay!!! Thanks for sharing your personality with us! The world needs your sparkle!!!! 💖💖💖
@@spaceycasey2226look at the both brushes, one is square shaped and other is flat. Just because she said doesn't mean she did, she could have bought the wrong one and not know it.
I'm 20 and have trichotillomania, I've been trying not to touch my head hair (I had a big bald spot at one point) so I started plucking my eye brows and eyelashes (I've had this ever since i was a very young child, hair still always grows back tho but while it's growing some eye brows need to be drawn on xD
Try castor oil to help with brow and eyelash growth! Everybody’s different but it really did help my lashes grow ! i actually stopped using it because it was making my eyelashes too long and they would press against my glasses lenses lol. My lashes are pretty long anyways thankfully but I was trying to be extra haha but yeah it works well
As a painter, you’re gonna wanna wipe off a bunch of the product on something like a paper towel so you can have a dry brush effect. Idk if that would be as effective with no brows but I’d think it would work well with them.
I don’t think that’s the same brush. Hers looks more flatten square, but on the other hand, OMG, your brows look so much darker and fuller than before.
Okay so I’ve used a lot of paintbrushes to make this technique and there’s a couple of things you can do to help that result. First thing is to use a brush with outward splayed bristles, one that has gaps between the hairs. This will create natural looking gaps between the lines. Next, you put way too much on your brush. Only dip the very very ends into a very thin portion, and it’s so fine that you don’t even see the product at all on the bristles. That way, you’ll get thin lines instead of product bonding together. Lastly, only touch your face with the bristles very lightly. Don’t put enough pressure that you even bend the bristles. The lighter you press, the more even lines will appear. Hope this helps someone trying this out :).
I can tell you 1000% know what ur doing. Bc I do every bit of this u just named. && No! Lol. All of these ideas 💡 didn't come to me over night. I learned all of these tricks, hacks, ideas, etc. Over time. I've been doing my makeup for YEARSSS and I know so much from just time
I'm an artist, not a makeup artist, I think you need to use more of a "dry brush" technique. Gently dip the tip of the brush into your mixed product, then gently stamp out the excess on the clean parts of your palate until there is no wet product showing on the brush. Then, with a very light hand flick in an upward motion. I would also try lining the bottom of your brows to stencil the shape.
No I think it would be better with the brush wet with the brush wet the hairs from the brush will clump together in little sections giving you the individual brow hairs it's hard to explain but the lady had a wet brush it wasn't as compact
As an artist I can tell the reason why isn’t working, it’s because you probably need to remove the excess makeup from the brush. Tap on a piece of paper paper towel before using it and that should give you more control on the application. Repeat the same process each time.
You're using a makeup brush, trade it out for a thick square or rectangle paint brush the bristles aren't so soft so you'll get the desired effect you are looking for
The brush is the trick. If you look at it closely you’ll see some bristles are longer and that’s what makes it work. Also, spread the product out thinner so you pick up less product
But you can see the first is square and hers is not. The first is hot pink w bright red square end. I think she meant the products are the same, not the brush. Which is why she doesn't show it and name it when she does exactly that to the other products.
You did my sister's makeup in my dream last night and let me borrow some of it too. You had this fantastic dragon palette that was chrome purple to green. Thank you for letting me use your makeup in my dream
Yes it is absolutely dry brushing. She had the wrong brush the whole time u have to have a "harder" brush to say as well. Or a more used brush. The softer the tip is the less likely u will achieve that eyebrow like brush stroke
As an artist 1. you'll need to tap off any excess product on a paper or tissue. 2 if that doesn't work try changing the brush. You might need to go for a stiffer bristle or a synthetic bristle. Try a cheep artist brush. A hog bristle or white tip.
Have you tried using the shorter, bristled end of the brush instead? Use a tad bit, less product perhaps. It looked like she let the product sit on her brush for about as long as you do eyelash glue. Just a few observations made, that may help you achieve your desired look. I love your videos. ❤
I do this but I use a really thin angled brush and it looks amazing! I already have think brows but I like to fill them in at the end and front a little! But I feel like you used a little too much liquefier and product on the brush so that’s probably why it’s looking blotchy!
I agree with the "dry brush" technique, but you also need a brush with more stiff bristles, not soft like makeup brushes. I'm not sure what you would use bc I think it would be weird to use an actual paintbrush, but that's really what you need
I’d try making it more liquid-y and using a damp brush to kinda disperse the brush Bristles more. I wanna see you make this work Nicki I’m rooting for you 🙌🏻
Knowing that Nikki is so skillful at makeup, I'm very surprised she didn't really play with the liquids, the brush's dampness as well. I'm a self taught painter and I learned over the years how many textures can get obtained from one sigle brush. I feel like Nikki didn't really try.
I have Asian brows which is pretty sparse. I used to use a brow pencil and draw my brow in until I discovered NYX brow tint pen Lift & Snatch. I draw in one hair at a time and I love that I have that control to make it look very natural.
To let you know there is a way to smooth down your eyebrows, just use a school glue stick and flatten it, lots of cosplayers do this so they can change their eyebrow shape or color or give the illusion of no eyebrows

It looks like she trimmed the brush to give it that space to where your able to get that result, look at that brush and look at hers, she trimmed it it seems. Love, love, love youuuuu

@Nikia an angled brush could look flat if your looking at it from the end to top at an angle.
