MY CHILDHOOD BRO. MY CHILDHOOD 😭😭😭 the chills man… im 30 now and just hearing this makes me feel like im 8 again … gah… We’re here this song connects to us. And brings us to a special place. We play games because it makes us feel like that innocent little kid… where nothing else mattered but being a kid.
The number of times when this song kicked in and I was like "aww yeah here we go" and then some insanely well-animated HUGE boss monster jumps down and I'm like "YOOOOOO LET'S GOOOOOOOO" was numerous during my recent playthrough: I give this song a 10/10 when viewed from the perspective of how HYPE it makes you for kicking the boss' ass.
That's true. If you're playing them normally, the fights can be brutal. Running around crouching to recover health when there are large scale AoEs going off can be a little nerve wracking.
Back when everyone was basking at the greatness of PS2, i was still playing the shit out of this game. To this day i'm still playing it. My game of the forever. AND IT'S COMING TO PSN!!!
this music not only remands me of a time long past, but the pain in knowing I dont think I will ever be able to experience this game with another person again, as much as i crave it, that time is gone, it is the pain of the universe
Oh my gosh, I love this game to death. Every now and then I still load it up. And I even hum this song to myself pretty often. Nothing short of amazing. Love it more than the other Mana games.
"Pain The Universe" This track's title always makes me think of when Escad and Daena squared off, when their differences came to a boiling point. I can just imagine Matilda's heart breaking, seeing her friends fight each other. The Universe, seeing the two friends fight, was pained as well.
During the first 10 seconds, it's like the compser anticipated the load time, like some games have DANGER flashing with siren noises for a few seconds before the boss even shows up, telling you to get ready to fight for your life (even if this game wasn't exactly hard). The fast paced rock feel sounds different from the rest of the game but perfect for boss fights. It's kind of like they blended Mana and Ys styles for this tune.
This has been one of my favorite tracks since I was a child playing this game for the first time. It’s so hype, I feel I can overcome any obstacle in my life when I listen to this.
Proof that Shimomura was an ex Capcom composer in this song right here. Even though it's for Legend of Mana it sounds like it came right out of Mega Man X.
xOmniCloudx She worked on King of Dragons as well. Even composed tournament stage in Knights of the Round when she was an Capcom composer. Ever since she has been involved with KH franchise I don't she will ever come back to this style again. Even though she still had Disney tunes from Adventures in the Magic Kingdom for NES she used in KHII.
@@bappojujubes981 Nope, in terms of Mega Man X3, that would be the composer for the first Castlevania game. Specifically, Kinuyo Yamashita. Legend of Mana's music is entirely Yoko Shimomura.
This game has THE most complicated blacksmith system. EVER. Man how I remember looking through LoMkitchen for insane weapon and armor recipes that would take LOTS of playtime.
Lou Christian Victor Sanchez The worst thing this game has to offer. Even the inescapable battle and the overpowered quick attack are outshined by the tempering.
Well, for me at least coming up with powerful weapon and armor recipes is what makes this system interesting.. It's kinda like a puzzle, where if you temper the wrong material, everything goes haywire. I wish modern games should have something like this. But making it kinda like a "easy to understand, but hard to master" sorta thing.
Lou Christian Victor Sanchez Oh, please don't. I like a challenge, but the damned tempering mechanics is not even once explained by the game, so it's NOT easy to understand. At the very least have some NPC or book that could tell what item gives/takes what ability, like a tempering journal (you unlock the lists by tempering items onto your equipment). Must I consult a walkthrough every single time I forge a new equipment?
The quick attack isn't the best.. 1-2-3, 1-2-3? Nah bro, 2HSword1-2-3-4-5 is where it's at. put that shit on all enemies lvl99 and you better use combos and sts
"Dude, you got like a vampire bat sucking out your blood throughout this entire conversation. Are you sure you're going to be alright?" "... " "Okay then, I'll trust your word on that."
no wonder, i googled her and it turns out she worked for capcom. doesn't specifically say mega man, but i'm sure she was around it enough to get some influence from it.
>.> Actually, I thought Legend of Mana was a hell of a lot better then Dawn of Mana and Children of Mana. The non-linear gameplay made it a lot different from its prequel, sure, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
i can say i am the biggest nerd when it comes to this game and plus have the sound track at home so i can say that this song is awsome for so meny ways
@eltaire Boo ya! Own it. Love it...easily an equal to LOM, despite the SNES graphics. Both awesome. actually far as i can tell they both just rock. for different reasons mind you. but both equaly rockin ;)

It's been over 20 years and it's still great.
I really love this game.

This is the single most hot-blooded boss music I've EVER HEARD.
I HAVE HEARD A LOT.
The irony that it’s in a game where the combat can boil down to stun locking with heavy attacks
That's true. If you're playing them normally, the fights can be brutal. Running around crouching to recover health when there are large scale AoEs going off can be a little nerve wracking.

3 years since this comment but that is some real fucking talk, you just hurt my heart
The drummer nailed it...he skyrocketed the whole theme.kudos to the composer and the artists
The thing I love about this song is how it's so badass, and makes every fight actually feel like an intense fight for your life.
During the first 10 seconds, it's like the compser anticipated the load time, like some games have DANGER flashing with siren noises for a few seconds before the boss even shows up, telling you to get ready to fight for your life (even if this game wasn't exactly hard).

The most Mega Man X song that wasn't in an MMX game.
It actually was used in a very old Megaman X flash game back in the day lol
its that sound effect its like metal and pretty lights
This may be the most epic boss fight music ever!
My favorite boss in my favorite game with my favorite boss theme. Pure nostalgia. Thank you.
The badassery of this song is too damn high!
Why is it that every fan remix of this song seems to mess up miserably at replicating 0:55 - 1:02? The original will always be the only thing for me.
0:00 - 0:11 BEST INTRO EVER
There should have been a "Mega Man X WARNING! WARNING! Siren Sound" when you first enter a room with a Boss in it.
thanks for uploading it ^_^
this song brings me back the good old memories of when i was this game
this song is what really made this game better

OMG This is one of the best boss songs ever!! And LoM is one of the best games for the PSX! Actually, all games made by Square are great! ;D
This was the most memorable track for this game. I didn't really like LoM that much, but this boss theme's pretty kick ass.
Sometimes I just finished a battle in the arena and left it just to listen to the song epic :D
I can hear some of the vibes of Shimomura's Street Fighter 2 work coming out here.
