Spent MANY a day on one almost like this with NO cab and a pony motor. I was hunting the gas and choke and throttle and clutch setup but guessed like you it's a glow plug deal. Had a ball pushing pans, clearing and working cuts. Then ended up on the dam with a 6-B straight drive blading and then they got a 7-F manual angle blade, power shift, clearing cab and no ripper. Bushings out on the cab mounts and it BANGed every time a pad turned over. MISSERABLE but a good tractor for an F. I liked the E's better. Thanks, Pal and Blessings!
We had one ,direct drive ,pony motor start ,when the Pinon on the pony stripped ,I converted the old gal to electric start and alternator charging ,worst thing abought her was the blade was a d9 u blade ,the equalizer bar was a cut down 9g ,the crossmember also got changed to a 9g ,and yes ,it wore out the front idlers on a regular basis
Like #6 Uhh, I would love to run an old D8 or 9 for a day. Ive only run a high sprocket 8, so that doesn't count for running a "Good ol'" dozer. Hate me for saying that, hahaha
Should have fired the old girl up 😂 The D8K is probably the most popular machine, a catskinner with many decades of experience I know its his preferred dozer.
A beast!! Cats will always be my favorites.

Its has worked hard in its life
Love big iron. Thank you for sharing this
Is it just me, or do the ends of the ripper bar look like they've been modified/shortened(like from a 3 shank to a single)?
