Strange all the influencers put out videos spending $20,000+ videos right before the whatnot card show but claim it’s there money. Must be a huge coincidence. CC2 calls it “nonsense” that whatnot would give influencers $20,000

He didn’t rush anything. He ran comps and paid 90%. He’s gonna get paid of the video and he’s gonna sell the cards most likely for over comps because of his following.

Bro. I remember, I was in my early teens and I would go with a friend who was in their 30s who set up as a dealer. He used to rely on me as his walking Beckett for any modern at the time. He would buy my breakfast, $40 for a budget to buy myself some cards and show admission. I remember we would always bring 3 and 5 rows from buyouts he would do and him always letting me keep anything good under $50. Man. Those were the times. Nothing crazy in my collection in those days and unfortunately, I lost it all during a move from Midwest to the west coast. But this madre lane me very nostalgic. Rip Terry Lee and Ty for always treating me like family!

As a dealer myself, 70% is a line I could never cross. My limit has been 95% on bulk deals, single deals etc., for the last year and I’ve done just fine. The percentage of comps thing has gotten way out of hand.

Buying graded cards for my PC or to flip is one thing, but the "real" money is in "Investing in Hobby Boxes and/or Cases."
Look, I, too, was a young punk kid who ripped open each and every pack or box I bought to pull my favorite player(s) or parallels/inserts, but back in 1993, when I was in the Navy, I was taught by a First Class Petty Officer, who also collected, and stated, "Stop purchasing packs/boxes just to rip open! Instead, buy a couple to crack, but buy some to invest in and store away." For about six months, I tried that, but failed, because I'd sit on my bed and see 25 hobby boxes on the top shelf in my walk-in closet and I folded and cracked them open them all up. But keep in mind, '93 was the backend of the junk wax era, so a lot of boxes weren't seen as great investment at that time. But, my friend, who is still my friend today, never wavered and he continued to purchase product to rip and store away and today, he literally has hundreds of thousands of dollars in factory-sealed hobby and retail boxes from as far back as the early 90's including several 1996-97 Topps Chrome Basketball, '96-'97 Skybox E-X2000, '96-'97 Upper Deck SPX, '96-'97 Topps Finest Basketball, '96-'97 Bowman Best Basketball, 2003-'04 Upper Deck Black Diamond Basketball, 2003-04 Upper Deck Hardcourt Basketball and nine, yes, nine 2017 Panini Prizm Football hobby boxes.
My friend and shipmate, who is a retired Senior Chief Petty Officer lives outside of Jacksonville, Florida today and a couple of weeks back he purchased a case of 2024 Panini Origins WNBA(10 boxes) and then did the same a few days ago of 2024 Panini Select WNBA(12 boxes).
Has he missed on some hobby product? of course, but the sealed-boxes he current have can pay for each of grandchildren's college education and more.
So, not all the time, but a lot of the time, I buy at least two hobby boxes or more, rip one and put one away. I purchased four 2024 WNBA Origins hobby boxes and four 2024 Select WNBA hobby boxes cracked two of each, and gave my wife the other two of each to store away, where only she and my two oldest children know where they are. because hey know, I don't have the self-control to leave them alone and let them be.

I know ur whole brand is “sports cards” but if u want to make money, should of spent that 20k on Pokémon
It’s not a debate or doubt anymore, if u invested into sports cards just in the last 2-3yrs, if u used that money in Pokémon instead, u would of 3-5x ur investment (unless obvs pulled a insane card)
If ur in card hobby wanting to invest and make money, focus on Pokémon. ESPECIALLY over sports cards
Sports cards u can’t “invest” anymore into them. The hobby so desperate for players cards to be worth more then 40$, anytime a hot rookie comes in people go crazy and try everything to get his stuff up
