Brilliant. I love that it's all about the song and the feel. What else could it be about? A lot of engineers could really learn from this. Thanks guys.
Knowing that Bob Horn was able to receive financial help from watching a previous episode of Pensado's Place for his eye surgery is the best thing I've ever heard on this show.
I am so grateful (pun intended) and proud of you guys! I am an aspiring producer in Australia, with not much credit beside a very local music scene and a band called 'Elocution Grey'. I have only just discovered your vids. The Barresi interviews are just amazing. I believe you have have a major hand in the evolution of the the recording art. I believe i speak for all of us when i say the Pensado's Place is exciting, direct, 'ego aside', and would mean a lot to recording engineers/producers worldwide. Its amazing what you guys are doing! Thank you!
Great show guys - as always! I'm glad you did what you did, you know what I'm taking about ;) We are audio guys - we care about quality, don't we? ;) Greets ;)
Look for the features you need, and, if you don't have a plug for it, go shopping and keep a look out for user reviews. Dave's Into The Lair series is a bit like a review show with a focus on technique, so that's a good source of inspiration and shopping advice. I personally just stick to one or two brands that have all the bases covered (like FabFilter and Waves), and branch out from there for one-shot boutique and specialty stuff when I feel I need it.
Start here, they're completely free, and extremely powerful. ReaXcomp is a life-saver. www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/ They're not pretty, but don't let that turn you off from their versatility. Once you've really gotten to know them, you might think "this is good, but I'd like a little more character when I do this thing (whether it be compression, EQ etc.) and then you might try and find something from Waves or Izotope that does what you're looking for, but by and large the ReaPlugs are fantastic, CPU-friendly and more than enough to make stellar mixes.
Yo Herb! You're obsessed with lunch breaks! You've brought them up in the last couple episodes! Love you guys...but the audio was pretty bad on this episode. Sirens and traffic in the interview...mono ITL. Still my favorite program on the internets. Keep doing what you do! We appreciate you!
Shame we can't hear the ITL audio in quality but this is just like the good old Classic PP Episodes, great show guys :-)

Dave i hope one day you'll upload a full mix session. :)
You can't really hear what's going on in the ITL it sounds like the only audio is coming from what's being picked up by Dave's mic
I hope this gets re-uploaded with stereo/higher quality audio. Thanks!
Knowing that Bob Horn was able to receive financial help from watching a previous episode of Pensado's Place for his eye surgery is the best thing I've ever heard on this show.
ITL was either mono or only recorded from the room mic! cmooooonnn!!! lol
another amazing show. "Bobby Horn's Place!"
GREAT episode
extremely educational show!! love it. very inspiring

Wow, very techy episode. Amazing interview, learnt a lot!
Shout out to Bob Horn for sharing the knowledge! =)
Dammit, an ITL about widening tracks, in mono...
Thanks
awesome ITL today. great show guys
Thanks for an episode. But i second to wishes for proper audio track for the ITL. eg. capture line output from protools and edit that with Dave's mic.
Great show guys - as always! I'm glad you did what you did, you know what I'm taking about ;) We are audio guys - we care about quality, don't we? ;) Greets ;)
Could have been a great ITL. But I am sure they are going to upload it as a separate video with proper audio. 😗
Yeah it's been said, but the ITL was in mono :p
Please can you redo the ITL? We couldn't hear the audio :(
"Substandard places" had us laughing.
With the millions of plugins available, how do you nail exactly which one you should use?

There's always (generally) good-enough processors that come with the DAW. Don't discount them..
I worked at Nyquist studio with their engineer Raz Klinghoffer, best mix engineer I've worked with so far
Shame about the ITL. It's in mono and it sounds like its all through the mic that Pensado is talking into... cant hear anything!
Please try to upload next ITL in stereo. I really like the show but it's always the same problem :).

Is it just me or is the audio in the ITL's audio off ? Sounds like a mic in the room with Dave is the only thing picking up the audio...?
Oh ok > Mixing Fat WIDE Tracks - Into The Lair #109
