    You have the most infectious spirit. I love how you seem to enjoy so many "little" things I probably would have walked right by since I would be so exhausted. I think I need to learn to stop and enjoy these things more to recharge myself for the next stretch. I will have to keep this in mind when I head to the Adirondacks in a few weeks. Keep crushing those miles.

    So true. No two Lichens are alike. Lichens are a complex life form. They form a partnership with a fungus and an alga. The dominant partner is the fungus. Fungus gives the lichen the majority of its characteristics. Lichens are not plants. They do not produce seeds. Lichens can survive in some of the most barren and severe regions of the world. Thanks for the spectacular views. Seemed like a nice day. Be well. Wishing you peace and fair weather ahead. Happy Trails!

    Into the Whites - one of the most magical of places - we've been going there for decades and have even made some local friends. There is a comment, here, about it being a spiritual place. The Western Abenaki Indian word for Mt. Washington is Agiocochook, and it means 'where the Great Spirit dwells' or 'the place of the Spirit of the Great Forest.' May the spirit welcome you and treat you kindly as you traverse those mountains. Please pass my regards to the spirits of the White Mountains. Be well, stay safe.

      I’ve started a petition drive to rename Mt Washington as Agiocochook. The other presidentials are fine because the Native Americans did not have names for them. Agiocochook is an extremely spiritual and medicinal place, like Kailash in Tibet.

    Sunday, June 4, 3:45-am .......... hey Stella ....... just for giggles ....... what you think is the outdoor temperature, right now, in Monson, Maine ......at the start of the Maine-100 mile wilderness? The National Weather Service says it is 40-degrees but it could maybe be a few degrees different from that in reality? Monson , Maine is how many trail miles, and how many trail days north from Mt Moosilauke in Warren, New Hampshire? 40-degrees seems chilly for early June, even way the heck up there in Maine, you know?

    • @140AcresArts
      @140AcresArts Рік тому

      I live in southern Maine, where it has been raining and in the upper 40s all day… yes, on June 4th! So 40 for Monson is absolutely possible.

    • @walterweinstein1612
      @walterweinstein1612 Рік тому

      Well, the reason I bring up Monson, Maine is because it seems to me that Stella's live chat on Saturday, June 3 was held in a bunk room at Shaw's Hiker Hostel in Monson, Maine. Is this a correct assumption ....... from the video ....... comments anyone?
      So, maybe she started the Maine-100 mile wilderness today, on Sunday, June 4?
