The 'dogs barking' sounds like a figure of speech referring to those individuals who make your life harder, and the 'fur' refers to the fact that petting a cat, cuddling with it, playing with it etc... is not only good for your feline companion but also for you. Oh Long Johnson will always be there for you :).
