- Artist Yinka Shonibare looks at the impact of imperial ambition in his new exhibition Suspended States at London's Serpentine Gallery.
Queen Victoria, Sir Winston Churchill and Sir Charles Napier statues are dressed in Dutch wax fabrics but stripped of their bronze, marble and power. An intention from Yinka who says we should question colonial history and not topple it.

I agree. Question, not erase. Toppling and erasing is just like getting rid of the evidence in my view. Makes it easier for some people to deny certain things happened.
But this doesnt question, does it, it lacks balance, its a race based myopia that has no value.
Do an exhibition about the various African, Islamic, Chinese, Russian empires and then get back to us. Honestly, it's all so tiresome. The people who created the original sculptures were fine artists, the chap who has copied them is a con artist - in my opinion.
It is written in the Bible that it is necessary for conflicts and wars to happen in our time. Praying for peace is them useless. But we can pray for the safety of people without caring about governments.
That's all this generation is about to rewrite history and ignore fact
