- Let's see a Brazil Rio carnival dance competition. In Brazil, Rio carnival dance competitions or samba contests are very popular. Brazil Rio carnival dance traditionally hosts this carnival dance competition for both women and men. The samba contests do not happen at Rio´s Sambadrome, but at the City of Samba, located close to the harbor (where the Rio Samba Schools operate).

There is a prize for the samba dancers on the Samba Competition, which runs about US$ 10.000,00 for the winner. There are prizes for the Queen of Brazil Rio Carnival, the 1st Princess of Carnival and for the second Princess of Rio de Janeiro. The Top Samba Contest is not only for women but for men too. The male carnival king is called in Brazil the Rei Momo, “Momo King”, which origins are in history the god of sarcasm.
The Top 10 samba dancers must present samba routines in a live performance, both with carnaval costumes and with dance bikinis. It is kind of a show in itself. The samba dancers candidates represent different samba schools, including Mangueira, Viradouro., Salgueiro, Portela. Beija-Flor, Unidos da Tijuca, Grande Rio, to mention a few.

Yes. They are veterans and great samba dancers. What do you like about them? Is is that they choreographed dance is impeccable or their natural ability to show the samba moves? Personally it’s a combination of all. Plus these headpieces! How can they dance with them ?!
I appreciate the effort put into your overlays, however I think they would work better just slightly smaller and at the bottom of your video used as extra verbal punch to the video itself versus breaking away from the core presentation.

@@BrazilCarnivalVideos For me it was just the breakaway from the video. I would have preferred the editorial directly on top of the video itself with the action still going on (maybe placed at the bottom of the screen of course to not block the feature), though leaving your intro/title cards with the dancer names looked good. Long story short, run your overlays transparent over the video versus breaking off to make them a separate slide kind of thing.
