Felt this so much, I was engaged to a guy while I was away at basic training, only to find out he screwed one of my friends while I was away. Needless to say I cut them both off when they tried to explain, one of my buddies back home caught them both and followed em' back home to see what they were up to, I got an interesting surprise when I received my phone back at the end of basic. Devastating blow for me, luckily I met a man that actually cares about my feelings and would never cheat. Proud to have him. ❤
After going through gruelling training out there the one hope they have is that they have the person they love the most in the world waiting back home and when something like this happens, even the strongest soldiers end up committing suicide....
Still miss my old squad mate , Lance corporal Vazquez , and even more fucked up or idk is that she didn't show up at the funeral or anything, I guess it's a good thing since everyone knows and last I heard karma hasn't been good to her, I guess guilt got to her and well she's a crackwhore in downtown Baltimore and her kids are living with Vazquez brother and his family . Even then doesn't still feel like justice or idk. Been about 6 years now and still feels weird , like the whole series of events feels otherworldly or like I'm walking through a dense fog with confusion around me.
I think it's a combination of everything. Witnessing wars, lost,ptsd. and find the person that loves you cheats on you. That's putting the cherry on top

The law makers need to severely punish those who cheat on their spouses who are service members and give them a harsher punishment if said service are on order during the affair, they should do this for both fault and no fault state.

The love of my life is serving our country. It doesn't matter if he is away for minutes, hours, days, weeks, months or even years. My loyalty and devotion to him are absolute and non-negotiable! First thing my father told me when I was serious about joining the military is that If you're not married yet, cut ties as soon as your application is accepted to join the military of any branch. I broke off everything with my now ex the moment I got accepted into the Navy because more often than not, being away for long periods of time will be a strain on both of you and I can put full focus on my training there without emotions clouding my judgement or overthinking. I'm happy and can control myself when in comes to intercourse/self satisfying, but I can't trust myself to trust someone else when I'm not there for months on end and it'll be a pain for both of us. So instead of the chance happening, might as well break it off and you can always get another girl later on. Plenty of girls out there.
