Mam, is it necessary to have good academic. I got 6,6,6 in my 10th 12th and Graduation. Can I make into MBB consulting firms and what extra should I do to make it happen.
Thank you so much...
I have a consulting offer in hand and this video was definitely worth the while...
Even though I need a fancy life and consulting comes with its own pros but not gonna chase it at the cost of my life-work balance.
Time to think again regarding my career path.
Please let me know if you can help or counsel in any way regarding my career.
Would be of great help if I could connect with you.

Good strategy Kanika. Nothing comes before mental peace and personal priorities!
This is so so valuable di. If posiible can you bring people who are in top IB firms like Goldman,JPMC, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse , deutsche bank and then indian boutique firms like avendus capital etc. Would love to know about the sectors and specialized work they do. Why they didn't opt for consulting and what is the culture at their firms etc. That would be such a prized discussion. Thank you so much di nobody does it as good as you. 💖
Have actually done one - if you search 'investment banking insider gyaan' on UA-cam you should get that. Refer to the video from 2021 which is more comprehensive and meaningful :) Glad you liked the consulting video and thanks :)
Great video, nicely chosen topics and questions..
Thank you so much.
Thank you Soumi and Sid, this was very informative! How can one develop the problem solving skills required for this role? Any suggestions would be helpful.
Problem solving is tested basically through case interviews. Basically means if you are able to break a case into smaller pieces, structure a framework or approach to solve it, etc. Best way is to read up a casebook like Case in Point and then practice cases with friends...
@@InsiderGyaan Thank you very much for the explanation and the book recommendation. I'm sure they're going to help me a lot :)

One year for CAT preparation.
2 years in MBA struggle.
1 year into working that one realises no I don't want to work in this field...
Oh my 20s, you are already gone!!!!!!
Which is why work ex before MBA is always a good idea :)
Thanyou so much maam for uploading great info✨
Great video. Really an eye opener. Thanks for this.
Thanks for this inside gyaan. It was very insightful.

Hi I'm piyush, I'm confused should I do an MBA Or Work on My UA-cam Channel, I started a fact shorts UA-cam channel, soon I'll start other channels also like vlogs or something else.. And then I'll do business too.. But if I do an MBA then firstly it will cost a lot of money ( 15-25 lakh + interest = 40 lakhs ) + time ( 1 year preparation of cat + 2 yrs college + at least 1 yr job ) , But i know if I'll give this much amount of time on my UA-cam channels & then business then I can definitely earn more than my salary! Yes there's a risk involved too, maybe I'll not earn that much that I'm thinking but greater risk, greater reward... But if I do a UA-cam & MBA simultaneously then I probably wouldn't be able to focus on my UA-cam channel... You've done both.. What are your thoughts on this? Please reply 🙏🙂
Seems from u have written, ur heart is in youtube. So do that! Risks are everywhere and u cant really control it :)
This guy is HONEST...✌️
yep, that's the point of a UA-cam video...talk about thigns not being discussed elsewhere! :)
Great Video. It removed many misconceptions that people have at campuses.
That was the idea. So glad you liked it :)
Thankyou ma'am for this video !😄😄
Hi Mam,
Amazing work...this gives us very good and true perspective of the inside world of consulting. I have seen people with really out of the box academia, I was wondering if that is bare minimum for getting into such organizations?
Thankyou so much
Ye mam Deepika Padukone jaisi lagti hai yaar..inki awaj bhi uski tarah hai 😀😀n dimple bhi deepika jaise hi padte hai inke 😎. Sundar bahut👍👍
Everything was so clear. 👍🏼
My grades are low but I worked for a boutique investment banking firm as a business analyst for 3 years. My firm is specialised in Real-estate project funding and I have closed around 20 deals during my tenure. I’m currently working with State Government at Revenue Department. Is my profile suitable for management consulting?
Yes ofcourse, you do!
Can you please make video about ca and career after completing CA
Really loved this video ❤️. Thank you

Hello Ma'am, thanks for the video
I had a question. The traveling that you are talking about, I think it differs between Indian and foreign jobs. Do Indian consultants also need to travel as much as a consultant in say US ?
India me bhi kafi travel Hoya hai. Depends whether ur project is in base location or outside. It is rarely in case location :)
@@InsiderGyaan thanks for the reply 😅
great video,I found it very useful.
Thank you 🙂🙏
Hii as u said if one figures out that the field there are in is not working for them. They should take exit in 2 yrs. Can u elaborate this in a general manner.. I'm working in MNC and this is not working out for me.
MBB consultants gets weekends off?? If not, can they opt for work from home on weekends (not considering pandemic....)?
Difference between consulting jobs in MBB and in TCS, Accenture etc?
MBBs are strategy consulting, Tcs is mainly IT which means you are building stuff for client also or implementing. Accenture has both
@@InsiderGyaan Thank you
better than investment banker
Is technical consultancy a good option to consider for a btech fresher? Or should we consider Software Engineer roles? I have received offers for both profiles, but I'm really confused which one to choose. Please share your views.
Depends on what skills you want to learn. If it is coding (and it IS a damn useful skill these days) then SE might help. Tech consulting is also quite wide...could be in strategy or TCS kind of roles...
@@InsiderGyaan Okayy! Thankyou for sharing your views on this! And also, the video was very insightful. You guys cleared most of my doubts regarding consultancy. Please keep up the good work!
Di in consulting I have much salary per month with lot of perks and benefits and all traveling and hostel charge given by company and best friends in company and free after 7 pm and free to go any where with friends 😎

I'm a Science student but idk why I m not doing engineering and really don't know preparing for du jat sscbs and bba(FIA) a good headstart to consulting and IB? IM NOT sure if I want to go to IB or consulting
Try doing a few things...explore and eliminate is the best way to go at this stage. Dont have to have full clarity right away :)
@@InsiderGyaan thank you so much for your I really appreciate and love ur work in guiding people. U being an engineer can u please help me out like is it really okay to start from bba after science like many people just don't understand and the thing about tech one can learn tech without engineering too I will really appreciate ur pov on this topic hoping for this reply ❤️🙂
That is super insightful ma'am 🎉
How can we have still gain those problem solving skills and communications like consultants without joining MBB ? Any bootcamps or anything else you suggest ?
Usually comes with practice...
Can you please which is better taking a government job or job after mba from iim? I want to do mba i want earn more money that’s the fact and explore everything but my parents suggest me to go for government job . I don’t have a satisfying answer to them . They will allow me to do mba but I want to answer why government job is better or mba from iim is better . Please reply .
In short a govt job is stable, less money but consistent money.low risk and work may get monotonous. Also there are so many govt jobs so unfair to generalize but this is my perception. Mba jobs on the other hand are risky, more strenuous, steep learning curve and will keep you on your toes. Neither is good or bad, it depends what you want from life :)
@@InsiderGyaan thanks
Consulting ? Ee kaa hovat hai babua ???
Didi, does MBB and IBs comes in the final placements in top bschools.. Coz I have heard... These firms only comes in the summer placements?
It depends year to year. But they definitely come in summers, may or may not in finals depending on their headcount. Top IB firms don't come in finals usually. They hire through PPOs to interns.
@@InsiderGyaan didi, my acades are 8,7,6...can i get fmcgs in summers... Or can u make a video on those profiles which are not that good.. And Not from a UG collge which they can boast about... How tough are placements gonna be for those sort of students in summers and in finals as well
@@humeshpatnaik4523 depends which college u r talking about? Also there is no good or bad profile. It is what is suitable for a particular company or not :) So don't start with the thought that u have a bad profile!
Can one become management consultant in Big Four/ Big Three without Mba / masters degree ?
yes..they do hire business analysts who are undergrads...or in sr position for people with relevant industry experience even those who don't have MBA
Consultants may not be very desirable for non-consulting world due to their limited skill set. Agreed. But what about IT Consultant ? The one who has a client interfacing job, is great at listening and empathizing and also learns technologies in order to run a demo and implement the improved technology at the clients office. Isn't that an all-round profile to have ?
Depends. All around profile for what :) IT consultants know the tech side of things but less exposure to business side. Management consultants know business side of things and have less in depth functional knowledge of marketing ops etc.
Yes I was also wondering the same. For example, an oracle/ Sap functional consultant who works in a tech company does know the software. So they do have the skill that non consulting world( who might be clients of the current company) is looking for.
Do consultants in india travel abroad for work? And also if a person is in some other job can they join consulting later on in their life
Lateral hiring does happen for subject matter experts. Yes consultants can travel within or abroad depending on structure of company. For e.g. McKinsey India serves indian clients so indian travel. But there are opportunities to take projects in US, EU as well
You sound like kamala of Never have i ever

@@InsiderGyaan plz make similar related to investment banking too, like job satisfaction, salary increment , bonus , travelling etc.
Does consulting firms hire people with technical background only like computer science... Or they also hires people from economics, bms background too.
There are different kinds of consulting. Management consulting will hire people who know business side and has good analytical skills. So eco is a good sweet spot. Tech consulting have a higher preference for technical background
@@InsiderGyaan thank you 😊❤

Hey - why don't u try switching in India first and then move to US? Getting a job outside your field and outside your country is trying to solve 2 problems at one go - may have better chance with 1 problem at a time

Consulting was buzz word from the day MBA started . The whole Hype of this degree was created by MBB when they started hiring freshers MBA grads in USA . We have to keep in Mind out of 20 top Alumnus of stanford only 3 are from their B school where as 11 are from Comp science and 4 from their Economics department . Consulting is an artificial hype
If u mean getting into consulting has nothing to do with overall success in life, totally aligned with you on that!
Rule of 3, well used :P
Haha always. Consultants 😛
Really ? Sharing success stories of who are already successful is not something worth
If one starts into Consulting as Analyst right after Undergrad, how beneficial can an MBA prove to be ?
Not required really unless u have a trigger. Like wanting to change field, wanting to move to a tier 1 consulting from tier 2. Also consulting is a wide word - if in IT or other consulting, MBA can still help. For Management consulting it may not have much incremental.

No chance. They even reject some iit and iimian. Forget about non IITian, you don't even get chance for an interview to get selected for job.
They only go where they can get highest possible intelligent people in a country, because intelligence is the only service they give to their clients.
They even fire employee very fast who are not performing as they want.
