Hi Guys! I’m a labor and delivery nurse in New York! Not sure how it is in Cali! But if you want Cody in the room for the epidural Cody would be positioned in front of you and wouldn’t really see it unless he tried to see it! Here’s my list of things I never think people are prepared for: 1. Once your water breaks it continues to come out untill baby arrives. Birth is a messy process so if you need a dry towel under you just ask your nurse! No need to be embarrassed we’ve literally seen everything before:) 2. Labor hurts, a lot. But I truly believe half of it is mental, if you want to go natural great! If you don’t, medicine is a beautiful thing. 3. There is a difference between sharp contraction pain and the pressure of the baby sitting on your pelvis. That will not go away, but the epidural takes the sharp away which makes the pressure much more bearable. 4. YOU are in charge. Never be afraid to speak up and ask for clarity or for your options. The providers do this everyday and sometimes forget that this is your first time so always always always speak up!
Such good advice, thank you. I don't plan on having a baby any time soon as I'm still single and I'd rather not want to be the sole provider for my child(-ren), but I will keep this information locked into my brain until then. I think the whole "mental" thing actually reminds me of breathing therapy. I remember watching a woman's insightful vlog about how she was planning to do a natural (water) birth at home because she had PTSD from previously giving birth in a hospital. Now keep in mind, she's also terrified of pain. She got a lot of advice from other women who went through similar trauma and she decided to focus on her breathing--which, surprisingly, actually works. Certain delivery breathing techniques can put mothers into a type of hypnosis which essentially eliminates the pain that comes with giving birth. She vlogged the experience and, sure enough, she had a painless delivery. There is always so much to learn about pregnancy and birth because of how different it is for everyone. But I'm glad there are people out in the world who are kind enough and patient enough to share these things. Thanks again for being one of those people.
Great advice! I’d love to add to that by saying ; planning is wonderful make a plan sure if that’s part of your process but 9/10 times those labour plans don’t work out 😂 I planned for a calm water birth and all natural. After 29 and a half hours I had no to have an epidural, episiotomy & forceps🙃
It’s adorable that Kelsey went “Hello?”while Cody was on his phone, just seemed like something he wouldn’t normally do so she had to correct it, idk just seemed cute :)
Health class is worthless. You don't learn what it's actually like until you go through it yourself or somebody thats gone through it explains it to you in depth. Its so unfair that we go into pregnancy and parenthood basically blind when it changes everything about your body and life.
my wife had a horrible pregnancy and this shit got me fuming. I honestly don't understand how he could eat even one of the chips, let alone all of them. and then still not show any signs of understanding her reaction and showing remorse. bro just laughed it off but it's actually a pretty big deal. even if you find her reaction irrational (it's not) it doesn't mean that her feelings are invalid. bummer to see her feel like she has to almost back pedal and preface everything with "I know I was acting crazy" type phrasing when she's clearly still a lil pissed off about it.
@@legallearnedgoronThere’s a lot of problems in the world. If you can’t look back and laugh at yourself for being upset over not being able to eat a lime chip you probably will have a hard time adjusting to daily life. Some people have it much worse who even cares lol.
I’ll never get over the graphic design of this podcast and everything Cody does… it’s always so well thought out, cohesive, outrageously cool and professional looking. The logos, transitions, opening sequences, music… across all of his channels, merch lines and projects - it’s always top notch. And I know work this good doesn’t come cheap, so kudos to whoever is doing all this incredible design work with Cody!

I would highly recommend having Cody there while getting the epidural! You have to hold extremely still if you want a successful one, and doing that while having contractions was the hardest part of my labor. Having my husband there to hold my hand and support me was so so helpful:)

This is the first episode I’ve watched and it was so good. What a couple ♥️
love being a chirckler , best of luck on delivery and first days as parents ❤love u guys !!
Proud Chircler here! So happy for you two in soon welcoming your baby boy! Brings a tear to my eye thinking back to 2017/18 at the start of all the reaction videos and watching your relationship grow into what it is today :')
loved this episode! the pregnancy talk to the high stories was so great, had me laughing hella
i will never not immediately click on a pod episode w cody and kelsey
42:56 "what do you hope to achieve this year?"
Kelsey: "I think really just focus on the baby. I don't know that's my, that's our, main priority, obviously. Just like learn how to live with the baby. I don't know we'll see."
Cody: "Cody run fast"
did u delete the emma episode? i was like halfway through 💔
I would highly recommend having Cody there while getting the epidural! You have to hold extremely still if you want a successful one, and doing that while having contractions was the hardest part of my labor. Having my husband there to hold my hand and support me was so so helpful:)
The book talk and the self deprecating thoughts about reading were so on point. I wasn’t sure if that was just me that beat themselves tf up after struggling so hard for the next few books after having finished one amazing one 😂 accurate af
Currently watching on shrooms, Kelsey looks gorgeous as always, and the clouds look fvcking awesome!!!
im not even pregnant and still freak out like kelsey did when somebody else eats something i planned on eating
i just love cody and kelsey. hope you guys have an amazing 2024 with the new baby 🩷
proud to be a chrickler
Never thought I’d be in a Cody Ko video via a comment on an IG reel, but here we are
omg I feel so validated on the codi + kelsi ouid topic, I have the same issues w getting panicky or anxious, feeling like everyone’s out to get me. I will have panic attacks or meltdowns & it gets to me every now and then cause I wanna join others but it just never ends up good for me. So seeing & hearing that you two have similar experiences makes me feel better, if you ever want the more mellow effect try some good cbd, I love secret nature cbd.. any way this episode was great and I think the energy was fine, hope you guys have a safe delivery journey & good luck 🤍
Kelsey honestly is so pretty! Her eyes are so beautiful ❤
god i love kenny’s new haircut
Thank you! That means a lot. I was a little nervous to do it at first but I’m glad I did
Same!! Would look fire w a beard but it’d hide his nice lil beauty mark/mole
Really hope I get to watch insanely chill, circle time, and tmg for the rest of my life
