I’ve listened to Tom before on John O’Sullivan’s Way of Champions Podcast, and he truly stands out as a youth coach who understands the value of play in soccer-or any sport, for that matter. At the younger ages, it’s not about winning or losing; those outcomes naturally occur because games, by definition, are competitive. The deeper message is about playing a variety of games that offer a rich array of experiences and opportunities to live fully, laugh with friends, and grow together. Tom is an awesome coach. Honestly, I’m a bit older than him, but I wish he could coach me, my son, and even our local club. He just gets it: real learning and growth come from playing the game!
