I have no why UA-cam recommended this video to me I have 0 interest in owning tarantulas but I watched the whole video and the way you casually leave the enclosures open gives me hella anxiety. 10/10 will subscribe.
same here man, i had no interest in tarantulas whatsoever but youtube popped this in the suggested box at 3am one night an now i spend my time watching this man live his dream
I heard their setae are so sensitive that they can tell air move.ent and direction. The cricket was making a lot (relatively) of air thrashing, so was probably a pretty big sensation....T's amaze me. All my hairy legs ever do is gross me out! 🤣
Petko opens cage to feed Linda. Linda- " Dad has food?" Petko grabs grasshopper and stats to put in - Linda " FOOOOOD!!!" quickly grabs grasshopper. Petko-" What just happened?" Linda joyfully munchies away.
That was an awesome feeding! Linda was best. So cute how Felix and Despacito are sleeping there in the beginning. Love Sashenka and Annie. And that spider at around 10:20 has beautiful eyes.
Linda's takedown was epic, but the clip of the "not tarantula" tarantula might be one of the clearest shots I've seen you capture. If you slow it down and watch, you can see her size up the grasshopper, flex her fangs, then the kill where we see the full strike, hear the crunch and see the juicy bubbles of grasshopper juice :P
3:54 The black drop of liquid that comes from the grass hopper is actually a defense mechanism. It secretes the liquid to deter pests from eating it. It didnt bother crazy Linda though.
Please do a slow mo edit on Linda’s takedown...I laughed so much, she was like ‘stop messing around man and give it to me already’ 🤣🤣 brilliant video Petko!
Can't be 100% sure because we can't see very well but insects don't have eyeballs like us but compound eyes that aren't really spheres. Also when i fed my mantises with the exact same grasshoppers, i usually saw droplets of blood that looked just like this (i have some footage on my channel if you're interested) Anyway that was still an awesome video, that jump was terrific !! :D
I am 100% sure that it is spit Grasshoppers spit to warn the predator to go away Trust me i got spit on by at least 10 grasshoppers trying to hold on to them
3:54 The black drop of liquid that comes from the grass hoppers mouth is actually a defense mechanism. It secretes the liquid to deter pests from eating it. It didnt bother crazy Linda though. 😎 I remembered grasshoppers do this from catching them as a kid.

I'm back for a rewatch...that lightning fast super linda spider takedown...it gives me shivers...I seem to be allergic to everything bitey or stingy...so I've always wanted to keep... however... steered away... we have some cool wolf spiders here that get pretty big... I was bitten by a smaller one on a camping trip and another working woodpiles... and well...I didn't like it at all...swelled up like a giant mosquito bite...burn and itch for a month...its funny too spiders seem to always want to come to me...I I want to handle them but then...I shy away....I play with small jumping spiders a lot and would love to get a regal...I've seen one up close once...and they don't worry me at all for some reason...I'm in eastern canada and the only ones I've seen near here are on ebay...or come in on bananas at sobeys warehouse...anyone have any info on getting one to here without harm...or if I'm even allowed...im having a hard time finding info about it...I know I'd bee a good spooder dad...have a Cresty named rex for years... he would sit beside him and use his old enclosure...its all ready 😁 I realize nows not the time tho cold weather...I'm patient though so any help appreciated...from the community
Bloody hell Linda, you be one crazy lady! I jumped up a. I’ve! My partner is laughing so hard at my reactions watching this channel ! Got suggested today and I’m hooked , binge watching! Not my usual videos but I’m loving it!
You literally have one of the coolest collections and UA-cam channels. Been watching you for years man. Keep up the great content. Hope 1 day can visit to see the collection. You and exotic lair help people who are scared of arachnids become fond of them.
WOW!!!!! Linda is just a wee bit PSYCHO!!! That was one of the coolest things I've seen here in the new old Dark Den!!! I don't know what else can be said besides COOL!!! and another WOW!!!! Great vid my friend, great vid!!
I have been following all the videos form different T keepers and I have not seen a take down as majestic as Linda's, that was absolutely the greatest take down I have ever seen, I really enjoyed it thanks for this great feeding video.

I have never been into spiders etc but your channel came up on my suggestions a while ago and I’m loving it! It’s all because of you and your infectious personality and you make me smile and laugh with all your funny antics but yet your love for your animals is obvious!! Love your channel buddy!!🤩👍🤣🙈😱😎🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for your videos even though it’s not this channel that got me into this hobby you started my love of Chilobrachys. I use to think they are ugly but thanks for your videos they are my favorite genus as well. Also I love to watch your video and feed my own Ts it’s really fun
I love you man. The spiders creep me out every time. Also, I don't think I could do it; I always feel badly for the bugs. There is always a little voice in the back of my head that is screaming "this is not ok", even though it's no different than anything else in life. Still, I've watched so many hours of your vids and find you a wonderful person. Cheers.
1:02 I figured out a way to fix the grasshoppers. Make a second room in that box. Cut a hole about there size. Have a latch or door on the outside to close them in when they enter that room and make that room Detatchible. So you can use tweezers to catch them. A simple trap door.
I imagine that's the toughest part of being a tarantula owner, they are virtually 100% unpredictable! Sometimes it's super cool, like today, other times, you put the food in place and its almost like they know you're watching and they just don't want you to see! Funny little fellows! I'm Brian Fellows!!
Linda: to catch de grass hopper, one must become the grass hopper 😂. She has learnt well. 😄. I always watch your vids. And its down to you im constantly looking online for tarantulas now. Soon i hope to have to one to add to my reptile collection. Thankyou for your awesome videos they've made lockdown much easier to cope with.
I love to see videos including a Psalmopeous Cambridgei 😍. I got a Sling as a freebie with my Caribena Versicolor Sling. He/she is the best freebie of my life. I love him as much as my Versi I'd wanted for months ❤️. Petco your P. Cambridgei is gorgeous 😍 xx
I don’t know why, considering you like all kinds of ‘creepy crawlies’ but watching you reach blindly behind the shelving for the light switch gave me chills 🤣
11:24 Horror movie You get your leg ripped off and left for dead outside a cave. You hear a chittering and light scampering. You cry for help. As you start to push away with the rest of your limbs you get dragged backwards, screaming into the Dark Den
I just found your channel. I am a spiderphobe but I love to watch them. And you have the most beautiful spiders I have seen. Thank you for sharing them .
When might you be getting a phoneutria fera? Can't wait for that. Love your channel. It's really helped me get over my arachnophobia, and is thoroughly educational.
When Linda jumped that was awesome! I wasn’t expecting there to be enough of a shadow for her to detect and let alone detect that it was prey! I don’t think she sensed vibrations I think she just sensed the shadows. Since they have simple eyes they can only detect light and shadow.... it WAS an awesome take down though!
Petco, no happy dances from the tarantulas but i will do a happy dance. Why because I am happy to see another Dark Den Video. My C. Versicolor slings also climb out when i feed them, they climb back in when they detect the food.
What beautiful spiders you have i started collecting spiders when I was ten im 41now I love your videos you have fantastic respect for your tarantulas keep up the good work
oh gosh LInda is a crazy spider lol she leeped completely in the air 😂 and also 5:52 it was funny bcus it looked like A genic was closing her own door like no Im not hungry and its late pls go away lol
