Sewing Tools for Beginners | GA008 - Навчання та стиль
Finally! An actual beginners kit video. I’ve watched a few now and they all recommend SO MUCH STUFF!! Thank you for keeping it simple and affordable.
I have that machine but haven't REALLY learned a lot about using it. I just discovered your channel today. And... I think I love you ! lol. I'm gonna make more effort to sew more, with your help! Thanks!
You have ability to bring sewing skills to the masses especially guys at a reasonable cost. All levels can learn from you.
Try pins with glass heads. Their heads won't melt if accidentally ironed.
Just finished your vid about the heavy duty singer sewing machine, this is my second video I watch from you. Thanx for helping us beginners, I just order my sewing machine, Don't have it yet but here I am all excited about learning...
Instead of the chalk I use aquarell or watercolour pencil - e.g. white on dark fabric. It washes out and I can sharpen it for fine marking 🙂
Learned to sew in 9th grade!! Its a lifetime skill!! You are awesome to keep this skill alive! Your teaching is spot on! Thank You!
Been looking for a channel like this for so long. You’re the goat
Finallyyyyyy some reaal useful tips, i wish you the whole good stuff you want in your life
If you have one of those smaller seam rippers that he has, you can add the cover to the bottom to extend the grip!! 2:52
Soft crayons are the worst, sometimes it won't come out 😬 Our best teacher used to tell us to only use leftovers of barsoap. It's the best and always works. 😊
Anyway, great video 👍🏻 keep up the good work.
Glass head pins don’t melt.
I always use them near the iron.
These videos help so much can’t wait to see what else you come up with, I have really been looking for a channel like this so thank you 🙏🏻
Facts. I’m so hype
I need this vidéo of long time
Thanks
Sorry for my english im french
You're welcome 🙏🏻😊
A pro tip if you already have a pair of scissors you could use but they are a little blunt, you can just cut some silver foil and they’ll cut fabrics just like butter😊
Silver foil? I tried with aluminium and saw 0 improvement
@@RLSteffler i use gold or platinum
Try using glass head pins, don't melt when ironed.
I have alot of old gear and bags I need to fix! Thank you for the inspiration! Need to keep busy in retirement!
very clear and kept my confidence that i could do this and well...thank you
Love your videos ❤️
Excellent video! I wish I saw this before I bought my other singer 😂. Could’ve saved a little bit on the heavy duty 4423
Great tutorial
Awesome video
I like how your videos have part numbers 👍
Let me add a sewing gauge in there for symmetrical hems, evenly placed buttonholes, and more.
Thanks for the knowledge ❤❤❤
Thank you, thinking of getting into sewing as a hobby. Your videos are helpful and inspiring. If I make the leap, I will definitely order your kits.
thank you, this is great! I had no idea. Loved the spiral. I am making a Tsuno Bukuru bag next week, and I cant wait to make bias tape. Thanks again.
Those round fabric rulers are for pattern drawing on paper. It is needed if you are making your own pattern on paper based off your or other people's measurements
The machine is an awesome one. It's not just newbies that like it! It's a workhorse that will do so much and without a lot of putzing. No need for fancy computerized machines for the vast number.of.peoplr who sew.
Thank you for all your helpful vids 🥹 please continue to post more 🫶🏼
Thank you! I got bigger and better videos coming :)
your channel inspires me a lot, thank you 🙏🏿
That's the goal, let's start sewing together 🙏🏻
Do you know what I like best in your channel? ...... it's your sewing studio which is
very neat, minimalist and I intend to create my own sewing room as neat as you
have!
I know how messy this sewing hobby is, and so before I can start my very 1st project
with my Singer Denim 4432 (which I intended to copy yours!) I'm keeping my time to
research on the essentials that I'll be needing from tools to trash bin!
super helpful!!!!!!
Glad it was helpful Steph :)
can you teach us how to make welt pockets for jackets. all your tutorials are so easy to follow.
i did my first good tote bag yesterday :)
hey, just wanted to say you inspired me to get into sewing
Let's do this together!! 🙏🏻😊
Very helpful
Glad to hear that
I love your channel. You always get to the BLUF (bottom line up front). None of that nonsense shenanigans like obnoxious music or some dumb dance moves at your intro. You speak in such an easy to understand manner. Much respect to you that you help break the gender barrier and represent for men in this hobby/interest. Sewing should be both unisex although mostly women tend to gravitate towards this hobby/interest. After all, both men and women wear clothes right?
Wish i could subscribe 100times
Thank you bro!!!!
Thank you 😊🙏🏻
i recently bought a brother ls14 as a first machine. it works easy for heavy duty just a little slow
My most essential tool is a pair of fine point tweezers. Makes threading the needle much easier and quicker than the jig included with my machine. Also great for getting to those bits of thread that get stuck around moving parts when you've had a jam. Oh, and strong magnet for my pins means I never have to pick them all up off the floor because I knocked the pin container off the work bench.... again.
The number of times I've knocked the container of pins over and had to pick up pins... smh I need a magnet like you haha good tip 🙏🏻
What type of tweezers would you recommend?
@@noelmcguinnesssee4929 Some straight superfine like the leftmost ones in this image: i.imgur.com/7y6dghP.jpg
Hello, this is a good video on sewing essentials. It would have been nice to know abit more about the Singer sewing machine and why you specifically chose this machine to sew with. Do you use any other machines?
At this point, I'm just here to look at your cute self😍😍😍 but otherwise you're really a great teacher, love your channel👌
Thank you for the free pdf pattern. Looking forward to see more video tutorials with free patterns. 💗
How often do you maintenance your machine? Like oiling the machine?
Please review the Butterfly JHQ6032A
The best thing that I've done is buy a used machine from a local sewing store. I never liked the owner or some of his sales staff but would occasionally look around or buy a vacuum cleaner part. One day a lady that was just hired and really friendly showed me some machines and took a long time with one particular one that they just got in. It was over ten years ago and cost $300 and came with all of it's accessories and instruction booklet. Automatic thread cutting was a life saver when we made a dinosaur halloween costume last minute.
"pins are sharp and make me nervous" I don't know why but that made me giggle
It’s true!!!! They are dangerous 🥲
If you want/prefer to use pins, get glass head pins. They don’t melt.
Damn, I might need to get the exact same machine, Singer goes too hard 😳😤
Upgrade and get a Juki, I'll trade you 😊
your Chanel makes me feel like i made it
"I only use inches"
3:40 *uses metric measurement*
where do you get your fabrics from?
I like your tool box. Where can I get it?!
What about thread? Any good all purpose thread you recommend?
What's the size of your cutting map?
That's such a cool thumbnail. One of the best I've ever seen! I'm glad its not that dumb, surprised face.
LOL sometimes us creators gotta do that surprised face, it helps for clicks (as cringe as it can be).
How do you print the patterns ?
Can you do a review on Ali Express tools?
Thanks for your videos I am a new sewer and can't believe i am sewing but it is just like wood working just different... I am looking forward to my journey into sewing ... LOOKS LIKE I WILL NEED TO BUILD A SEWING STATION FOR MY EXTRA BEDROOM ANY ADVISE?
That's funny! I've been a cabinet maker all of my life and now I am retiring. I've also decided to take up building things out of fabrics. It's cheap to get into and I think I should catch on quickly.
No more slinging 4 X 8 sheets around or breathing in dust and paint fumes.
Wish I had a spare room to work in...
Which size scissor is best 9, 10 or 12 inch
What made you want to sew?
The weight of scissors does matter. Just picking them up here and there you can’t tell a difference. After working with them for a while you can feel the difference. I constantly drop my heavy scissors, I don’t use them much.
I hope you make a tut on a cut and sew T-shirt
Got a few tutorials lined up but t-shirts will definitely be done at some point 🙏🏻
You could use a bar of soap instead of chalk.
Where did you get the little yellow storage on the left side of the video?
It's been passed down in the fam, not sure where to get them anymore!
link for products?
man i got that same yellow kit box lmaoo
Hahaha no wayyy. Love that 🏆
what desk do you use? it looks so wide!
Ikea 😊
i fed up people who talk too much i preferred watching action with explanation vouce over, this way viwer wii a,ways benefit more
