It scared the out of me and my friend for making mistakes in this particular subject. And, the teacher smacked the duster on the fingers you write with. Pheww.. I thought that makes Jeonghan witty (and some 90's generations) as the result of education system. Funny for sometime, but can left trauma to someone childhood if they were not able to take it.

Punishments were supposed to make you reflect and study harder but it traumatized my grandad and he started failing even more due to the fear and pressure of not making a mistake. It eventually became the reason why he dropped out of school after graduating from elementary. Using punishment to educate may be beneficial but can also be traumatizing to learners. Fortunately, the punishment system was eventually abolished.
