He started his singing career at the age of 13 or 14. When I was 19, I became a big fan of his Romances series of old school Mexican ballads/love songs. I was a freshman in college in the Midwest of the United States and I was like the only person around me who knew and loved this incredible gem of an artist. I had the privilege of seeing Luis Miguel in concert in Chicago in 2000. This tour I believe was the biggest selling Spanish language tour of any artist in the United States. This was bar none the best concert I have attended. I first found out about Luis Miguel while watching the movie Speechless in the early 90s and although I didn’t know Spanish I was amazed at his voice.
