@brian alfeson You're not exactly wrong. This game feels like climbing a mountain because there is just so much to learn. My problem might be the same as yours, friend. I felt I had to learn everything all at once just to get started, but that's a recipe for failure. Just start holding yourself to a more realistic standard. How can a beginner be expected to know what a pro player has spent YEARS learning? Find like 1 fun combo that's really satisfying to do, that you can do consistently. Outside of using that combo when you land the big fun launcher buttons, find yourself 4-5 moves that you have an easy time landing/fun time doing/annoying for your opponent, to do in neutral. Mix between those 4-5 options until you make your opponent so mad that you can find opportunities to make your bigger, scarier moves work. Then when you feel good and confident about when and where to use those 4-5 moves, you'll be able to make room in your gameplay to adopt more moves. What you'll end up finding out when you watch pros though, is they use a very limited pool of moves. It's really the when and where they hit the buttons that makes them as good as they are. Just keep reminding yourself that they didn't learn everything over night, and give yourself the same grace period to learn. When you're kinder to yourself, the learning gets easier and more fun.
