So, if the "paper" on the outside of the tanghulu is rice paper, you can safely eat it. If you are unsure, you can ask the vendor or carefully observe it. The Great Wall tour group is pretty good - not too invasive but enough hand holding that makes you feel like you are taken care of..all that stuff for one price..it's good.

You meet the guide at exit B at Dongzhimen Subway Station, they are really easy to spot with a red branded jacket. When everybody has checked in with them you walk with them for a couple of minutes to the bus which is parked a couple of streets away. Have a great time in Beijing.
