    Great vid and explanation. Will be nice to use as a reference. In doing a build, I am more concerned with the avionics and electrical systems than I am with the build itself.

      John Howell theyre definitely the more daunting aspects of the build for me as well

    Thanks for the thorough overview, I've looked at the diagrams a few times but this helps connect some dots.

    Thanks Evan. These videos are great. Will you do one specifically about the VPX?

    • @EvanBrunye
      @EvanBrunye  4 роки тому +1

      Andy Clark there are many videos about the vpx on UA-cam already. I’ll probably cover it briefly in an avionics video down the line when they’re installed

    Nice, thanks for sharing. What kind of master relay or solenoid did you use. I am not sure if I should take your solution or stick to the manual and take a masterswitch with build in circuit breaker. Is the shunt in the Sling package included?

    • @EvanBrunye
      @EvanBrunye  2 роки тому +1

      I’m not aware of anyone using a master switch with built in breaker, a typical installation uses a master solenoid and breakers as required. It wouldn’t be a bad route I don’t think, but it’s not the standard for some reason. The shunt is part of your avionics when you order from somebody like midwest panel, or must be sourced with your electrical/avionics components if doing it on your own

    • @EvanBrunye
      @EvanBrunye  4 роки тому +1

      Pin 3 from the x3 connector connects to the ammeter shunt to provide power from generator 2

    1/3 of this went over my head but that’s ok, gives me some research to do. What broke the tie for you on VPX vs circuit breakers?

    • @EvanBrunye
      @EvanBrunye  4 роки тому +3

      To me there really was no tie. The vpx checks all the boxes- cleaner panel, more functionality, and keeps the modern aspect of the plane alive, which is such a major part of the tsi to begin with

    Those really aren’t holes through the firewall with rubber grommets, right?

      @EvanBrunye  4 роки тому

      LTVoyager what do you mean

    • @LTVoyager
      @LTVoyager 4 роки тому

      Evan Brunye @14:00 it appears that they are two holes through the firewall with rubber grommets in them. To the right of the battery and above the Rotax regulator module.

    • @EvanBrunye
      @EvanBrunye  4 роки тому

      LTVoyager ya one for the gps antenna wire and one for the ground wire pass through. What’s wrong with rubber grommets?

    • @LTVoyager
      @LTVoyager 4 роки тому

      Evan Brunye The key is in the aptly named firewall. This is a wall intended to block fire. How long do you think it would take for fire to go through the holes in your grommets and also melt away the grommets making an even bigger hole. An engine fire blown by a 100 MPH wind would be like a blowtorch coming in behind your instrument panel through those two holes.
