The accuracy and reproduction of her mannerisms are so good it is unnerving. I am literally struggling to decern the difference in the way she acts and speaks from the real Truss whichever one she is. You credit her with almost no malice, her real performance was downright sinister. Bumbling characters come with some 'underdog' built into them and it can be easy to see them as innocent and relatable.
Please don't forget that Mr. Bean arrived in a beam of light to an angelic choir at the start of every episode, he was always a victim of our world and how it works, as we all are.
If you give her this shine (too much Gump) it should be on purpose and not because you are afraid to show your teeth by revealing hers.
