For everyone saying "why isn't there a sword in your mouth" Santoryu is a real sword martial art, a rare case samurai could be trained in the three sword style, more seen learned in Ronin, there is a legend that three sword style was gifted to a ancient swordsman by a three arm demon.
I mean I'm sure it was a thing but it was probably extremely rare since it's not really practical. The weight of each sword, followed by the mobility the sheathes get in the way of, and the fact they'd have to memorize which swords are for which situations would be a lot to keep up with in an IRL battle. Plus weapons weren't always extremely durable and most likely broke or cracked from wear and tear easily so carrying more than one or two swords wouldn't be the worst idea. It's like keeping an extra clip on you at all times.

All you have to do is sharpen it. It's not a big deal. Unless it's like family heirloom or an expensive antique. Swords also don't need to be cleaned exceissvely, regular quick maintenance is all it needs. Anything more is a bit obsequious.

This actually makes me curious on how zoro actually performs his santoryu attacks Only sanzen sekai that i know so far and its because oda explained it through mihawk (all sword slashes at the same point at the same time)
I think he swings his neck in the opposite direction of the blade(in his mouth) direction. His neck is just so ridiculously strong from training it produces a slash
In reality Santoryu (as used by Zoro) is extremely unviable. Holding a sword in the mouth like Zoro does adds miniscule attacking benefit while also majorly limiting the range of motion on side of his body the blade is. Many of the attacks Zoro uses can't be replicated in real like without cutting of your own arm. This is without even getting into the ramifications of using a sword with your mouth.
