You did well going down that steep route. The secret is just carrying on. I'm glad the repairs needed were so minimal. That renews my optimism for a long, happy life with my 2023 Adventure model.
Yesss! I think that having no extra time to waste because of the approaching sunset made me think less and just keep pushing, which turned out pretty well 😄 I hope you’re just as happy with your KTM as I am with Cherry 🤩
Well done. I feel for you. Self-preservation and fear force you to go too slow while you know deep inside it's easier with a little more speed. I've been there many times 😀 Happy the bike is fixed, sending love 💜
I’d let it go fast on straight downhills but when it’s a super steep twistie where it goes over 30km/h on first gear with closed throttle I chicken out 🫣😅
@@alyoka.travels That's steep. Action cams flatten everything. I like to watch the hard enduro races and a normal looking slope ends up with the rider and bike sliding down out of control. Those riders are so skilled.
I’ll try to fly the drone next time, maybe it will have better luck at showing the steepness 😄 but the drone is obviously the last thing one thinks of in a situation like this 🤣🤣
That's my city!!! It looked like you had a great time. And you rode with a friend of mine, Mike, who is a GREAT rider...great guy period. Thanks for being here, and for all the good things you said about Cuenca. It's an amazing place, and we hope you'll come back soon.
I feel blessed and super lucky to have met Mike and Dan! And to have been able to explore the backroads of Cuenca together with them! Amazing city, amazing backroads, amazing people! I even envy you a little bit for living in such a wonderful place! 😄
Awesome video! Whew that was a workout! Not for me, I like backcountry paved. That was very steep. With loose rocks. I am happy you got Cherry sorted at KTM. If the shock survived that, it's good to go for sure. Cuenca is a beautiful city. I am looking forward to more. Best!
👍ALEONA...WOW !...you sure know how to Hold an Audience !.... You survived....and I'm so glad you didn't try to go UP that hill as well !.....Try an EASIER one.Next time ! ....Wouldn't want to LOSE you after all this time !...Keep SAFE and love from Australia 🏍🦘🇦🇺🌹
Nothing like a challenge to ring out the new shock! Well done. Wish I were closer to ride he same route and 'calibrate' the views with reality. I'm going to mess around with some different camera angles/shots next time I'm out to see if there might be a way to help show the steepness... Seems like there should be some way to do it? And yes... everything was even better than alright! ; -)
Well done on the downhill, that looked pretty steep. Beautiful views! We have similar trails like that here in Canada,.. Something I learned on my adventure travels from other riders was going down steep hills like that, switch the bike off, leave it in gear and use the clutch lever as a brake along with some light front braking. Once you get used to that you will find excellent control. Plus, it's nice and quiet to help with your concentration. Great job!
@@alyoka.travels Yes, gravity will take you down the hill. With the engine off, bike in first gear and letting the clutch lever out, you can really control your decent at a steady speed. (depending where you hold your lever out you'll go slower or faster) It's just a little smoother than the foot brake (Which likes to lock up easily) It takes a bit of practice but when i find myself in positions like that I find it works well.
I didn't see your videos for a while since you left Bogotá, but now I see you really improved the overall quality mainly in the audio, so, great job!! 🙌🏼 Now I want see more of your adventures in our beloved South América 🇨🇴
Привет, Алёна! Ты хорошо протестировала Cherry после починки да и себя тоже. Такие крутые покатушки в абсолютно диких местах (судя по трафику). Отлично справились и слава Богу! Береги себя. Удачи!
😂 In Portugal we say "with friends like these (Andres) who needs enemies?". It was quite visible how steep some parts were, so better to be a healthy chicken with skin than one 🤕 without skin". Brave anyway. My name for the season: "Why not?? (...in South America)". 😉
Hahaha when I came back I texted Andres saying “what exactly did you mean by quick and easy?” 🤣🤣🤣 And “why not?” is like a story of my life together with my tagline “the art of getting lost” 🤣🤣

That was a really hard trail. But a lot!! But is nice to know you get through it and the bike was Ok at all time. Amazing bike!!
It was a good test for sure! I’m glad Cherry (and I) passed it 😄

It's funny how sometimes the "quick and easy" plans turn into a wild adventure 🫣😅🤣 Thanks for watching! 💛

Hahaha a friend of mine said he loves this trail and if I decide to try it as an uphill, we can go together 😄😄😄 I’m strongly considering 😁
@alyoka.travels 👍GOOD idea ALEONA !...Always good to have BACK-UP !...Keep SAFE and UPRIGHT !...🏍🦘🇦🇺🌹

Do you actually ride it with the engine off? Because I do something similar but not riding, more like walking the bike 😄

Oh yes, i know how gravity works 🫣 lol!
I’ll have to give it a try next time ☺️
Yeah, just find a safe place to give it a go a few times. Safe travels!

Para baixo "todo santo ajuda" 😂
That’s me praying to every god I’ve heard of on these kind of trails 🤣

Check bteak pads either lose or worn out.
They’re nearly new 🤷🏻♀️ I’ll double check for loose
