mkII has a sequencer which basically allows you to hit every note perfectly when you just go aaaaaa (same note) in the microphone. i don't know if i explained it correctly, brez explained it in one of his videos, go check it out
14:27 for example, this AC /DC thunderstruck melody is impossible to do on the mk1 (not impossible but it will take a long ass Time and is not viable for a 3 min round). Rythmind with his MK2, can make it quite easily because the MK2 has basically a sequencer called oscillator bot. This effect allows you to, when you give it a voice input, pre program notes on it to make a melody while using the note of your input as a reference. Those notes are not programed on stage btw. As far as differences go. A lot of new effects with higher quality sounds are available in the mk2. Some are just overpowered compared to those of the mk1 as i explained up there. Instead of three slots for input fx and output fx each, you have 4 slots. (i know there is more differences, Brez, if you find this video, correct me if i'm wrong xD) Only the judges and participants of the kickback loopstation battle were given the MK2. So this gbb: Frosty Robin Rythmind Saro Inkie KBA M-Age has the MK2
Also Inkie, since you included Saro. There was a Kristof showcase as well, I hope they are going to upload it as some point (I was expecting it at the end of the elimination rounds).
Split decision actually meant the votes were 3-2, meaning Brez put up a good enough fight to almost beat the defending champion. Still one of the best battles of that gbb!!!
Not only that, but Saro definitely had the hardest time and decided at the very end out of intuition, this battle could have gone either way. Big ups for both
I seen people calling this the best loopstation battle and i think its a valid comment to make its without a doubt one of greatest loopstation battles we have ever had And is probably my favorite
This is one of those battles that could have gone either way and I wouldn't have been mad. To this day I cannot decide. Rythmind was less clean with his execution, but still put up insane rounds. I think his second round being atypical on a loopstation and bringing something fresh to the scene may have given him brownie points with the judges who voted for him
@@duckster8288 The freshness comes from bringing a new style to stage on the loop since not many people do rock. I actually posted this before Chris TheOdian said something similar on Brez's channel about what he thinks gave Rythmind some points so I guess we all have agreements or disagreements on this 🤷♂
The MKII also has the ablilty to allow 4 input fx and 4 track fx in comparison to the older MKI which has 3 for both. It allows for so much more modulation that you might otherwise not be able to have on brez’s device that Rythmind has. But Brez arguably won this, so it come to show ho great of a performer he is
I don't like all reaction video formats but I do appreciate your style. Also, very good on you to understand what your audience is seeing and what they skip.

Well to keep it simple. MK2 is hands down better than MK1. Sound quality alone is a MAJOR difference. At this time only a handful of loopers had a MK2 rythmind being one of them. I would say in this battle him having the MK2 is a huge advantage manly because Brez only uses one device(MK1) but respect to Rythmind for only using 1 device as well given it was a MK2. I think there needs to be 2 categories for loop. One Device and Multi Device.
@@Phals 100% agree... I mean when you look at any of the second devices its an advantage. Not to mention you start wondering what is against the rules and what isn't I swear some of the elims had pre recorded sounds... I think they need to do away with all of them and only allow the loop
You do realize that having just one loop will limit loopers down so much. All tracks will start to repeat themselves and creativity will dim down. I think MKII vs MKII makes a huge difference, for all the reasons explained in the comments here and also on Brez's channel. Not only the machine itself is unfair, but also the fact that it's not released at that time is unfair. Even if Brez wanted to buy one, it was not available. It's not even a choice, it's forced. Now machines aside, my vote goes for Brez. He's still doing similar stuff he's done before, still that same rap kinda ish vibe, but the rounds were flawless. Rythmind on the other part made obvious mistakes, and came back very quickly but mistakes still. He also seems less comfortable behind the loop than Brez. Everything seems planned, flows perflectly well. I also prefer the originialy from Brez. I saw from miles away that octave shift in Rythmind's first round and I was so unimpressed.
Bro i remember when I saw this live, I was committed to Brez taking this battle. I got kinda mad but mostly sad that he didn’t win honestly. He deserved it, I really think BREZ won.

You put it so well, when Brez is on stage it's time to go. That's what I love about him the most, he has so much energy. Same reason I love Saro, not like other loopers don't have energy but I just feel it, haha
The most insane loopstation battle of 2021.. it was pretty crazy on the day, I was watching it live on the swissbeatbox channel and out of nowhere Rythmind sends a Thunderstruck from AC DC!! 8:50 Brez is commenting on how the MK2 has an oscillator bot which makes some of the complicated melodies possible to arrange (like Rythmind's second round) which is something the MK1 doesn't have. I'm sure someone already mentioned this below. He says "now for the oscillator bot... oh wait, there isn't one"
Also, I saw you didn't get to Robin's loopstation elimination round! I understand some of the videos didn't bring in as many views, but that one is DEFINITELY worth watching. :)
Also, I'd love to see what MB14 can do with the mk2, I feel he "struggles" by not truly trusting the machine a lot of the time and making his loops longer due to it.

Or maybe you just weren't there live to notice that the sound quality of Rhythmind far outclassed BreZ and everyone else in the competition (even others with MK 2).
Ok let's put an end to that disscussion because it's getting annoying to see most people think tha Brez was at a disadvantage because of the MK2. When the battle happened Brez didn't have the MK2 to test it. He only knew what you could do on it, but he didn't didn't experience the device itself. The MK2 had massive flaws in the way it was designed, and Brez didn't know it at the time. Yes, you can do things that you couldn't do on the MK1, but you also couldn't do important things that you could do on the MK1, on the MK2. Brez had the chance to test the device later on, and he released a video called "BOSS RC-505 MK2 First impressions | I cannot play my songs on it. Moving back to MK1 until updates.", where he make a rant about some missing important feature on the MK2. So yes, Rythmind could do some new stuff, but he was also heavily affected by the same issues that Brez encountered while testing the device, so he had to adapt. So it's kinda annoying how everyone downplay Rythmind win on this, without knowing the full context ... Both were playing on the same level. No one had a bigger advantage.

4:22 I think he said "really good rapper" followed by "That's it"
i.e.
your rapping was good but your song sucked 😆
BREZ IS SO NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASTY
