I actually paused the video, because I thought maybe another video had popped up somewhere that I didn't know about! However, what really gave me hives was the play video they had for this game. Playing on very uncomfortable stone squares. With water everywhere (including between each stone). On a clearly windy day, given the way hair was moving. Equates to a completely ruined game!!
I had Watergate on my shelf for quite a while and finally got it played last year. It did not disappoint. Final Girl is also one I need to play, but don't own yet. I enjoy slasher movies, love The Final Girls movie, read The Final Girl Support Group, and now I need to play the Final Girl game.
I've played about seven of these, and they are all great. I wish I could play them more. Making of a President is a game where you always feel you're behind. Rebellion is just plain fun. Allhambra works great with our friends who are not heavy gamers, and every game is different. Have fun playing these games.
I got to play several older games for the first time during 2024: 1. Power Grid (2004) 2. Istanbul (2014) 3. Tongiaki: Journey into the Unknown (2004) 4. Attika (2003) 5. Kingdom Builder (2011) 6. Snow Tails (2008) 7. Amun-Re (2003) 8. Clans of Caledonia (2017) 9. Sardegna (2005) 10. Big Shot (2001) Most of the time I'm looking forward to playing older games than games that just came out in the current year or 2.
I bought Rebellion in the Spring and still have not played. I know I will love it but the learning curve seems steep and I need to find a few friends willing to take the plunge! Would love to hear your take when you do play.
I just played La Granja... why did I wait so long! I am going to work hard on my shelf of shame this year. Amritsar Messina 1347 Forgotten Depths Barcelona Darwin's Journey Kutna Hora - The City of Silver GWT - Argentina Tribes of the Wind Hegemony Sabika Fields of Green Unfathomable The Shadow Planet Arkeis There are more but how would you rank these... say top three must plays?
First of all, I totally understand that you've got games you've never played before. I've got a lot of games in my collection I still have to try out. But just because I don't have a lot of time playing them. I'm interested in Alhambra and The Gallerist. I really like a good Lacerda game and I've got a few already. The Gallerist is on my BGG wishlist, but I'm not sure if I would like it. Concordia is one and also Coffie Roaster and I'm ashamed to say A feast for Odin. So yeah that's my list. But there are many more..
Your top 3 are must plays for folks who like strategy laden heavier games. If you played age of innovation you have “played” terra Mystica from what I’ve heard.
Terra Mystica is on my list too. That and War of the Ring have been on my shelf for over a year without being played. The only ones I have played on this list are Final Girl (not my jam) and Watergate which is a great game
After watching this video, it seems like you just want to play my collection. I'm right down the road from you in Davis should you need to borrow a copy of something.
wtf is that commercial for Alhambra, why are they playing it on rock tiles near a public fountain, just the thought of all the humidity getting into the game is killing me 😭
Ugh I have sooo many games like this on my list. And movies. And books. And albums… At a certain point, there’s no catching up. Better to just live in the moment and play whatever has you excited at the time. That being said… play Final Girl for real tho
As the board games get more and more stale in recent years it's natural to look back at older titles and (much more important) the collection whe already have.
This is ludicrous. Those games are still popular today and we still talk about them. They are not old at all. Please, please, please, at least get someone on the show who can point out true older titles. Look back in the 90s and 2000s, you have plenty of games to talk about.
I kept trying to rock out and dance during the Alhambra section but for some reason there was some dude's voice quietly speaking underneath the music.
I came to the comments as soon as i saw 😅 still don’t know what he said about Alhambra….
What!? 😂 🕺
So weird, Nick.
Why is the music so loud over the Alhambra section?
Hey guys- your music track on the Alhambra section is overriding you audio track you can barely hear what is being said.
Nick wasn't crucified for his Alhambra lack of play....but he was musically suffocated 😅

#4 and #1 surprised me! Both fantastic games!!
Can’t believe I’ve played 8 of these
I had Watergate on my shelf for quite a while and finally got it played last year. It did not disappoint. Final Girl is also one I need to play, but don't own yet. I enjoy slasher movies, love The Final Girls movie, read The Final Girl Support Group, and now I need to play the Final Girl game.
Trickerion is reeaaally underrated , very good game
At the end of the year you should do a video to see how many you played. Great video as always.
Watergate has been a top-10 game for me (CB) for the past few years.
The Gallerist is phenomenal, you should get it to the table soon!
The Gallerist is incredible. So glad you guys got into Lacerda games.

the music during Alhambra is so high volume I can barely hear whats being said
That's not part of the video, that music just plays anytime anyone talks about Alhambra
I love Alhambra -- just played it last year for the first time, but play it all the time on BGA.
I absolutely love all my final girl games. And I love how you can mix and match everything.
2P: Rebellion!
1P: Final Girl!
Really want a follow up video to this in December - how many you did end playing
Queen Games hijacked the Alhambra section. Well played QG, well played.
I got to play several older games for the first time during 2024:
1. Power Grid (2004)
2. Istanbul (2014)

8. Clans of Caledonia (2017)
9. Sardegna (2005)
10. Big Shot (2001)
Most of the time I'm looking forward to playing older games than games that just came out in the current year or 2.
The Gallerist is a great game. Setup is a chore, but it all works so well. Love the game.
I bought Rebellion in the Spring and still have not played. I know I will love it but the learning curve seems steep and I need to find a few friends willing to take the plunge! Would love to hear your take when you do play.
Love that GMT games get some more love!
Nick I'm going to go out on a limb and say Alhambra is going to be in your top 100 after playing it.
Yes I think you will really enjoy Watergate!
Ooo I didn't want to skip ahead. I thought for sure Alchemists would be on here.
I just played La Granja... why did I wait so long! I am going to work hard on my shelf of shame this year.
Amritsar
Messina 1347
Forgotten Depths
Barcelona
Darwin's Journey
Kutna Hora - The City of Silver
GWT - Argentina
Tribes of the Wind
Hegemony
Sabika
Fields of Green
Unfathomable
The Shadow Planet
Arkeis
There are more but how would you rank these... say top three must plays?

Did you make it through your playing the top 100 games of BGG last year and ranking them? I thought Terra mystica was in the top 100🤔
the Alhambra section has some music that drowns out most of the commentary
I also want to try Trickerion
great choses, i might try for spirit island, as well some of yours.
Play Final Girl! You're going to love it. I want to check out Trickerion from this list.
Your top 3 are must plays for folks who like strategy laden heavier games. If you played age of innovation you have “played” terra Mystica from what I’ve heard.
I wanna play Wealth of Nations. It was popular when I was starting in the hobby, but never saw it sold locally.
Terra Mystica is on my list too. That and War of the Ring have been on my shelf for over a year without being played. The only ones I have played on this list are Final Girl (not my jam) and Watergate which is a great game
I haven’t played Alhambra either and there is a new version the Red Palace or something like that!
My best friend and I play 1960 every election year.
Play Alhambra it's relaxful then do Final Girl to put you back on edge.
After watching this video, it seems like you just want to play my collection. I'm right down the road from you in Davis should you need to borrow a copy of something.
We've done all of its relatives already 😂😂😂
I'm first to comment! You guys are great! What's going on with the music on#7?
2019 and 2021 are considered old already?
#7 the music is drowning out the commentary.
Am I suddenly on hold?
wtf is that commercial for Alhambra, why are they playing it on rock tiles near a public fountain, just the thought of all the humidity getting into the game is killing me 😭
I like Alhambra give it a run.
Final Girl is "fun" love this theme in October.
Nick play Final Girl already!
I would like to see y'all play Star Wars: Rebellion on UA-cam.
Ugh I have sooo many games like this on my list. And movies. And books. And albums… At a certain point, there’s no catching up. Better to just live in the moment and play whatever has you excited at the time. That being said…
play Final Girl for real tho
Music is louder than dialogue

"older" games and you only go back to 2003... You are adorable
That Alhambra music stinkz!
Man I thought these were really older games. Only Alhambra qualifies. Everything else is basically hotness level.
5 other games are over 10 years old, they are older games for sure.
Older? Hahah say something like Magic Realm, thats older. Or maybe some card game from the 90'
6 of them are over 10 years old, I’d say that’s older 🙂
Magic Realm? Older? Hahah say something like Backgammon or The Royal Game of Ur, that's older. Or maybe some dice game from the 900' (BC of course)
