at 0:39 I placed 1 redstone torch on the stone brick next to the hopper. like in that corner between the stone brick with the redstone on top and the hoppers that lead from the composters to the dropper. the bonemeal will start to flow up back to the farm (yes all of it) until the bottom dropper reaches 41. when the bottom dropper reaches 42 it will drop bonemeal to the collection chest until it reaches 41 again. 1 single stack of it not like a bunch of different stacks that add up to 41. when the farm needs another bonemeal it will suck one of them up, putting the dropper's count at 40 and the next bonemeal will put it to 41 so that it can keep putting the extras in the collection chest. edit: typo another edit: if your stone gen makes cobblestone just mine out the cobblestone and put regular stone back down and fire it back up. this happens when you leave render distance with it running.
Heads up for people in the future- I think the afk tests were wrong. I built the farm exactly as in the video, added the missing redstone torch, added the repeater to prevent build up in the dispenser, AND I added 2 cactus farms on top of the moss farm (without the optional collection of the blocks themselves), and I managed to get just over 256 bone meal per hour. Again, thats the moss bone meal farm + 2 cactus farms. And I am getting a fraction of what the design is supposed to give.
I got he exact same result ran it with the carpet mod to speed up time this is no where near the actual rates. I got 369/h. use another like shulkercrafts or gnembon's one this one is realy bad

No it is not that effective. On average a cactus grows every 18 minutes. With 18 plants you get a drop every minute, or 60 drops per hour. You also need on average 14 cactus items per bone meal in the composter. So a bit over 4 bone meal per hour instead of >400. He probably forgot to turn down ticking speed and made the test on 100x speed.

Moss farm works (Have A LOT of bone meal now). I have it in a server im in. I didnt make it, but they had a problem where it just broke once it is on for a bit. We have it so that once someone joins in that it'll start up, but it broke after maybe two weeks. I don't know if it's for anyone else but just a heads up for other builders
i suggest building another layer of blocks on top of the trapdoors then go around to make sure no blocks when broken will fly up onto others if anyones farm not working like the dispenser not working place a redstone torch next to the hopper besides the main chest to clog it then put a stack of bonemeal in each dispenser/dropper for the cobblestone keep spawning make sure u built exactly as the tut + break the cobblestone and replace with stone
My despensers fill only the chest/ the hopper pulls everything out and it didnt reload by itself.. what can i do?? - i put the missing Redstone Torch at the Block where the redstone line starts that goes into the kompeter, under the Building Block flying in the air?
Question: i found some of the stone is turned to cobble when you are out of render distance from the build. I only have the 2nd right most piston working now with all the other ones inoperable. I have removed the redstone, the lever, and the torch associated with that side and nothing has worked (pistons will not move the stone created by the lava and water). Any tips?
Never unload the farm. If you plan to go out of the farm's render distance, turn it off. Because reloading the farm while the lava is making stone, sometimes the game will hiccup causing lava to come down and contact water to become cobblestone. If however, you do end up with cobblestone accidentally, turn off the farm and make sure no water is flowing into the platform, and replace the cobblestone with stone/moss. Moss cannot be bonemealed on cobblestone - so it will break the farm until replaced.
Tutorial is unclear and he goes way to fast. I'd recommend going a bit slower and giving more clarity on block placements. Would be nice if you could add a litematica file because I'm lost.
I did this exactly like it was but it stopped after a few repeats. I added bone meal myself a few times. Then I put bone meal in dispenser and put a torch then took the torch back. Now the dispencer gives bone meal to the surface but I have to fill it manually. Did I do something wrong? It's still better than nothing though.
For anyone looking to build the farm it works however the rates are not as close as fast as they were in the video i would recommend building a lot more layers.
Tested the moss farm in MC Java 1.21.0 with 15 bone meal as in the video. Sadly the farm just stoped working after putting out 29 bone meal. Unfortunately, the design must be revised. Anyone an idea?
(built the first one) hey i got a problem, i did exactly like the video, though my building blocks were different and i used oak trapdoors, but my farm isnt working properly, it gets stopped itself after a minute or two, i refill the dispenser again and put the bonemeal on the middle moss, its starts working again but stops again, any suggestions?
I am having a strange issue with the Cactus Farm. The cactus portion is working. I can see things growing and breaking off into the water, but there is no Bonemeal yield. Ive checked the hoppers and they are all pointing the correct ways.
Those rates are completly unrealistic. Its easy to see that you have increased your randomtickspeed. So really misleading video. Because especially the cactus farm is not interesting with the low rates it gets in reality.
you have to place a redstone torch next to the hopper going in to the storage chest, against the brick with redstone dust on it which is next to the comparator. when there's 42 bonemeal in the first dropper, it'll start leaking bonemeal into the storage chest, it'll work way faster if you fill the 2 droppers and the dispenser with bonemeal so all the excess can go into the chest immediately.

you need to wait for both the disspenser and the second dropper to be full so the bonemealstarts acumulating in the first one after it reaches more then 41 it starts dropping in the chest its a lengthty process
I ended up removing the whole machine and relying on my skelton farm in order to get bones and bone meal, also, it's not purely unlimiated farm.@@takocat1340
For bedrock, i replace the trapdoors with dispensers with a water bucket then put an observer detecting the torch connected from the observer detecting the moss. Also, place a redstone torch next to the hopper to the chest in the block with redstone connected to the comparator to keep atleast 41 bonemeal for the moss and the rest will funnel to the collections chest
ive built the first farm and it kinda works its not a great farm it stops working alot of times and youll have to refill the dispenser by yourself and it doesnt give a lot of bonemeal
Hello blazedude, i built this farm, but all the comments were saying you had to put a redstone torch on the stone brick next to the hopper going in the storage chest, so I did that, and the farm works perfectly, except no bonemeal gets put into the storage chest, so I removed that torch, and bonemeal was going into the chest. One problem tho, was that it was ALL going in the chest and none of them were going inside the dispenser to keep the farm going, so it would eventually stop. What should I do?

Well, in the cactus farm I think I might have forgotten the speed stuff and while afking the cactus grew faster and produced more bone meal than it would in a survival world. However I think both farms are efficient enough for a survival world.

Great farm, needs a little kickstart at first with the bone meal but it's definitely more interesting than a skeleton spawner grinder. Please provide a schematic or a world download in future videos. All in all, a decent tutorial.

Try to put more than 15 bone meal in it.

Rewatch the video and check that you don't have made any mistake.
0:42 the hopper is not lock by a redstone device so the loot go into youre chest.
At 0:39 you have to place a Redstone torch right next to the hopper. In this vid he only placed 3 torches and that's the last torch to place

Well, in the cactus farm I think I might have forgotten the speed stuff and while afking the cactus grew faster and produced more bone meal than it would in a survival world. However I think both farms are efficient enough for a survival world.

Great video super easy and cheap, however he forgot to show himself placing a redstone torch beside the hopper leading into the chest so heads up for anyone building this

@@ruby_moon it does if you put 18 stacks in the top two and 41 in the bottom it will put all bone meal in the chest

Great farm, needs a little kickstart at first with the bone meal but it's definitely more interesting than a skeleton spawner grinder. Please provide a schematic or a world download in future videos. All in all, a decent tutorial.

@@extremebat7944 I'm having the opposite problem. the bonemeal is filling the collection chest first which is keeping the farm from getting bonemeal causing it to need me to fill it up constantly :/

Add blocks behind it, pistons can only push a certain number of blocks. or you can place obsidian. whichever is easier.
if your on bedrock replace the furnace with obsidian
