BIG congrats to Trapper!!! That is quite an accomplishment. Your silver numbers are about on par with our seasons here in NJ. A great year would be around 125 to 150, with most years coming in a little over the 100 mark. But remember that we have an assload of detectorists here, including many larger clubs, etc., and there's only so many parks to hunt. That's where using the right machine (FBS) and ONLY digging the deeper signals give me an edge. I'm able to find what others missed over the past decades due to poor searching or the limited detector technology prior to the FBS models. You also have to put the time in, and know when to choose your spots (when the ground is moist, etc.). So, I'm essentially looking for the scraps of yesteryear. The leftover bones. Fortunately, there's enough to still make hunting worthwhile, but the ground is being depleted fast. MUCH less out there now versus when I started swinging 11 years ago. I occasionally have 4 or 5+ silver hunts, but more often that not, it's a 2 or 3 kinda day. Barbers on forward are the majority of what we dig, with the rare seated or real coming up once every year or two. Anywho, sorry for the ramble, but keep up the EXCEPTIONAL work!
The silver coins we have here are 90% silver up until 1964. Then there are a few wacky exceptions for just a few scattered years but the stuff we hunt is 90%, so it has to be older than 1965 to make the grade👍
