  • So you go out to fish for trout and you see them rising to feed on insect on the surface and they aren't interested in anything else you might as well pack it up. Not so fast. You can throw dry flies with a spinning rod. This is how. It's pretty easy. All you need is a casting bobber, a swivel, a splitshot (optional), 2lb flourocarbon and some flies. Everything but the line and the flies you are probably already carrying. If you have any questions about how to rig this up leave a comment. Also leave a comment if you know other methods to get catch trout when they're feeding on insects

    No clear explanation of how he rigged the line. Not helpful.

    Nothing like 7 plus minutes of watching half a screen of hair and hands playing with string.

    That was a lot of build up to not see the fish lol
    Good technique though. Effective for sure. I also like to Carolina rig streamers with a bullet 1/8oz sinker about 18" from the fly stopped by tiny Spro swivel, used on my ultralight with 4# Maxima Chameleon. I caught my personal best smallmouth (22") on a Carolina rigged #2 home invader streamer (Doug McKnight) on my ultralight. Great setup.

      for streamers i usually just use a split shot. sometimes i'll put them on a little shy bite float

    thanks , I watched 2 times , but maybe I missed , did you use a bobber stopper ?

    • @nicholaaaaaas
      @nicholaaaaaas  6 років тому +1

      I usually just use some split shot. the casting bobber is boyant enough it still floats fine and they're easier to throw them on each side

    What is all the straw stuff on the left side of the camera, are you dressed as the scarecrow? Does that work as camo for trout?

    Please don’t use the words “how to” in your video title if you’re not going to explain “how to” do anything you did.

      snoboardz1972 I guess you don't know how to follow directions. Life is going to be hard

      No hard feelings man. I just wanted you to know if you're going to post instructional videos you should operate under the assumption that not everyone will know what you know and a little more detail in your instructions would go a long way. Otherwise just title your video without the "how to" in the title because that was definitely in my search criteria and what led me to your video. Tight lines amigo.

    Can someone list the names of flies used.

  • @visarbrestovci9029
    @visarbrestovci9029 7 років тому

    how many flies did you tie in one line?

    • @nicholaaaaaas
      @nicholaaaaaas  7 років тому

      Maryland allows two hooks per line (a lure counts as one hook)... so legally you can only use two flies

  • @gointo8823

    I guess flies're getting wet quicker and it's gonna be difficult to dry them.

    Use a dark background....preferably indoors with a strong light. Can't really see what you're doing. No explanation on length of leader, what kind of knots or flies used.
